Irony

IRONY

My joy that I wasn't born a Nigerian
Is that my parents are Yorubas
I would have been limited to Naira

Mo dúpé pé mo lókó nílé (All thanks, I have a hoe)
Mo láyò pé omo alápatà sá lèmi(I rejoice, I am the butcher's offspring)

Nigerians should say alhamduliLhai
That our legislators are not as corrupt as our president
The country would have met with a great recession

E wá womo alápatà bó ti n jàsán (behold, a butcher's meal begging for a piece of meat)
Eni tó lókó nílé tó tún fowó ó kómí kiri(and a shovel merchant handpicking wastes)

Nigeria is blessed
With green pastures
And various rich liquids

Láyé Olúgbón, mo dá borùn méje(in the reign of Olugbon I owned seven different brocades)
Láyé Arèsà, mo dá borùn méfà (in the reign of Areas I owned six different brocades)

Nigerians are blessed
With great leaders
And various 'politricks'

Láyé Olósèlú mo ra àrán, mo ra sányán baba aso( in the reign of politicians, I owned linen and silk)
Ení pé ilè yìí o dùn ení kó wá bòmíràn lo(who dare thus pasture is not green should please make an exit)

The rich no longer cry
They are the beneficiaries
Of the poorman's labour

Sisésisé wà lóòrùn tó n làágùn (the labourer are dripping with sweat)
Jeséjesé wà làbétè tó n jè 'gbádùn(the beneficiaries enjoy the clubs)

Oh God of creation
Guide our leaders right
Perhaps, to spend our labour well

Bámúbámú mo yo x2(My hunger is satisfied to the fullest)
Èmi ò mò pébi n pomo enì kankan(I doubt if there is any languishing in hunger)
...

Whenever I see a Nigerian
I see along the irony of a country
Where hunger is an offspring of plenty

Nìnú òpò ará ìlú n jòwón(despite the riches, inflation is at its peak)
Nínú oyé, èése táráyé tún n sunkún oru?( and though its winter, the masses sweat is still profuse)

I hope to change the condition
I wish I could turn this irony around
And make a great change of situations

Sùgbón níbo laó ti bèèrè?(But where hence do we start?)
Tani ká kókó gbá lówó mún gan an?(who should be our first suspect?)
Sájépo lájà ni àbí eni tó báa gbà á sílè? (The looters or their abets?)

Where from should one start
Rewriting the story of this country?

Àbí e ò rórò bí? (Can you see?)
Òrò n bá rò ma ròfó, èfó n bá rò ma mún jèko (that this issue begets another)
Irony nlá leyii je, it is a big kàyééfì (this is a big kayeefi, irony nla leyii je)

The Pride of Kings

Let not the pain of death enter my body
I the Pharaoh, son of the gods
Here my wife, who is the daughter of the Nile
The daughter of Isis sits beside my throne,
Is she not beautiful?

I live and roam the abode of the gods,
In eternity I stay with the majesties
Of the immortal gods
Mortality has no hold of me
I alone carry the staff of Osiris,
Behold! I judge thy weight of the heart,
With that of the golden feather
Thoth that measures thy heart shall tell me of thy heart’s content.
If I find thy heart lighter than the feather;
And find thy honesty,
I shall let you enter the heaven of the gods and goddesses.
If not, then, a beast to devour thee, waits for the dishonest.
Know me by my throne, made of gold
I am cloth with ornaments made of jade and sapphire,
White silk of clothing, with jewels from faraway lands.
Anyone that dear look down upon me shall die
And those that despise me, shall fine their homes burned down,
with fires from heaven.

Who am I? I have asked thee
Look at Anubis, the son of Nephthys bringer of death.
Do you await him to bring me great sorrow?
Shall he warp me with a yard of cloth?
Shall I find peace in death and my fate be judge by him?
If so, I have a place among them.
My afterlife is in paradise, their awaits a bundle of joy
With music of the immortal, with harps, lutes, lyres
And servants to tend to my every need.

But even if I die, the weight of mine own heart, shall be as light as a feather.
For I know mine own honesty.
As I sail across the sandbank of Apophis,
I have my guide, Ra, the god of the sun to light my path
No monstrous serpent of chaos shall wreck his boat,
The boat in which, I am in.

So, I ask thee, traveler from the west
What is thy business with a god?
Look at my palace, is it not magnificent?
Has is not, the decoration and flowers that surpasses all human designs?
I have built these with rocks
Sands was the foundation of my legacy,
Shall all things compare to that of the past days?
I carry the burden of my glory, and yes, it is heavy.
But will such foundation as the sand be strong enough to hold against the tide?

Love is abiding that is true, but only in those who welcomes it.
My love for my beautiful wife, oh! How well have I been treated
With love from her is better than any pleasure a man can have.
Faithful to the gods or my wife? That I know not.

Premium Member Where Is the Pharaoh's Toys

I have seen the formation
Of ancient lands
I have seen the creation
Of ancient hands

Pyramids
That soar to the sky
Here amid
Temples majestic and high

I have seen
Wonderful things
Tombs and scenes
Of ancient kings

I have seen huge blocks of stone
Cut by hand of flesh and bone
Fit in place for reasons known
To the architect alone

Each stone block from the quarry
Has a structure to help build
Each chisel cut tells a story
Of a mason’s guild

I have seen towering obelisks
With finely chiseled hieroglyphics
And ancient golden relics
Like toys in the attic

I have seen ancient mummies
The walking living dead
Take care or you’ll become these
Walking around instead

Dinner I have eaten
With pharaohs and kings by many names
And I have beaten
Them at their many games

I have sat on the temple steps
In the shadow of a large mastaba
I chatted with the great Amenhotep
And the gods Isis, Anubis, Thoth and Ra

They told me I could become a god
If I live and died in the manner of a king
I thought that was a little bit odd
For I came here wanting nothing

Tomorrow we go off to fight
The empire of Kadesh
If you come, you will see some sights
That you will never forget

I saw the battle of Kadesh
Now written about on the temple walls
I saw the battle in the flesh
Now celebrated in the temple halls

I watched the battle and from what I saw
Neither side won the war
From my standpoint the battle was a draw
But the Pharaoh will celebrate a win evermore

Pharaoh Ramses lived to the ripe old age of around ninety two
He outlived a lot of his hundred children and many wives
He’s remembered as Pharaoh Ramses the Great who
Built many monuments and revitalized the Egyptian’s lives

When they found Pharaoh Ramses the Great’s body
They found no silver or gold
Only the great king’s mummy
Thousands of years old

The archeologists all made a great noise
Where was all the silver and gold?
Where was all the old man’s toys?
That the grave robbers stole and sold

A lot of his stuff is still out there
In Egyptian antique stores
And Egyptian homes and country fairs
To get something you could spend a lot for sure

Nowadays Ramses is lying in state in the Cairo Museum
And men and women and girls and boys
All flock to the museum to see him
And Tutankhamen’s wonderful toys

Nephalim Oracle

A cosmic clash of epic force
Split Tiamet like brittle thread
Nibiru hugged its distant course
Propelling moons to gnaw and shred

Kingu marveled at what was formed
Asteroids shed from that vast orb
The watery giant was transformed
Leveling as third to absorb

Many long elliptic passes
Tugged Nibiru over ages
Until those once noble gasses
Failed to impede starlight rages

Over this time the shard revolved
Taking shape as the oceans churned
The sun ensured the rock evolved
Microbes cracked until life returned

Expelled from the Nibiru throne
Alalu jumped to explore Earth
While he ventured the slice alone
He found metal of precious worth

At last the solution was found
To save them from the harsh daylight
Fragments of gold if spread around
Would shelter Nibiru’s grave plight

The new king Anu sent his son
To work his wisdom to flourish
Igigi ships loped as they spun
While miners jabbed deep to nourish

The Anunnaki soon rebelled
Their fate of hellish work and toil
A plan was hatched to force them quelled
New primitives should pull the coil

Enki tripped the genetic gun
Splicing the double helix code
Our ancient line had just begun
Demanding that we haul their load

At last the life goddesses tired
Of the chore of birthing the clones
Genetic changes were required
To allow our own labor moans

The Igigi succumbed to lust
Swooping down to mate with the slaves
Enlil pondered their breach of trust
This threat shall be deluged by waves

Graciously Enki warned one man
To gather the seeds of all life
Nibiru yanked our fragile span
Tossing the seas with driving strife

Once the flood waters receded
Kingship descended from the stars
Eager gods learned we were needed
Sinai rebuilt upon the scars

Marduk groaned with greedy power
Seeking to build a rival port
Enlil grasped this Babel tower
Condemning them in holy court

The gate of god was crushed outright
Striking our enlightenment down
Forcing Marduk to flee from sight
Till he seized his Egyptian crown

Sinai hungered the jealous god
With hopes to steal the path to space
So they launched a fatal petard
Baalbek wiped out without a trace

At last the minions awaken
To crush the repression they face
Amen-Ra remains unshaken
Even by our haste to erase

Adunay Kahayag Luyo Sa Kangitngit

nangamuyo sa kahitas-an, nanghinaot nga mawagtang kining katalagman,
     adunay kasuko, kasagmuyo, ug kalinaw,

apan timan-i nga ang kapildihan ug kapakyasan dili maoy katapusan,

ayaw kahadlok—ayaw toguti nga dan-on kas kalibog,

     tan-awa ang panganod maanindot kaayo—walay sama;

     tuo kaniya—maimoha ang kalinaw nga dugay ra nimong gihandom;

kay adunay kahayag luyo sa kangitngit.

Premium Member Lilizzi

I am Lilizzi, or the spirit of fire, I am the pure essence of the flame itself,
all fear and adore me. Does not every star in the heavens burn because of me?
Out of all four elements, I am by far the most mysterious.

Every culture has their deities to honour me by, to name a few,
Norse goddess Freya, Irish goddess Brigit, Celtic goddess Aodh, Hindu goddess
Agnayi, Greek goddess Hesta, Egyptian goddess Sekhmet.

But of course, you all know the Egyptian god Ra? And believe me, there are just as many gods as there are goddesses. But in this male-dominated world, I felt the urge to bring attention to some of the goddesses instead.

But I digress, you are not here to learn about the gods and goddesses of Lilizzi.
No. You want to learn my mysteries and secrets, don't you?

Well, I say, as a moth! Have you ever wondered why a moth is drawn to my flame? And not just moths, I have been known to hypnotize most humans too,
have you ever wondered why that is?

Okay, let me tell you a little secret then, you may find this hard to believe.
Mankind's first ever form was also fire itself, but it doesn't stop there, you see,
mankind's last evolutional form shall also be fire too. Full circle.

So heed my advice, next time you are near an open flame or fire, study closely
and meditate on its movements, shapes, forms, feed it your breath, dance with it, and know what the learned Druids of the past refer to as Headfire.

They weren't known as the "Fire Fathers" for nothing. And as the Brethren of the Celtic tribes, they held four fire festivals a year, and still honour them today, they are Imbolc, Beltane, Lammas and Samhain.

I don't ask for your worship, only your respect. Who else renews and promotes growth in the woods and forests? The Australian Aboriginals knew to burn back the land at the right time, and they weren't the only ones.

So don't fear me, respect is all I ask. My mysteries are waiting for you to unravel. Burning brighter than ever, Lilizzi.

Last thought
rolls through your mind

If I was you
And you were I
And we looked

Last second

and there ...

all around us

If I was you
And you were I
And we looked

What is our last rite?
Do you hold me tight
Do I hold you tight
Do You say

I Love You

Do I say

I Love you

Tomorrow is

This is our last rite
