Premium Member Love's Sweet Torment

Tormented by angelic words,
you softly, swiftly seal my fate;
is it too late
to rise from ash and vision blurred?
For these immortal ties
were realized when my gaze met your eyes.

If you so choose, my heart is yours
and ever it will always be ~
eternally.
I always knew this life held more;
His will and ours combine
to forge a Love that stands the test of time.

And thou dost knowest my soul’s dreams
for thy soul hungers for the same;
burden nor blame
shall haunt nor tear these golden seams
conjoined in His delight;
each stitch will reinforce Love’s worthy plight!

Premium Member Finn and Fiona

He thought that he had lost all his marbles on the crossing

The autumn tides had been huge and the currents strong

Mostly the aquamarine ones off track and abandoned

A bit like blue smarties excluded from the shiny packets

Forbidden colorants had lost their way into his life

Must have put them into one of the Nivea tins he collected

For safe keeping so well they were hidden too mindlessly

His mood though full of the blues like cyan in a capsule

As he struggled through the time warp of self-deception

No more cerulean light and Munch’s scream full of morose

Moribund insanity with the ocean’s plight darker than black

He felt sizzling hotter than blue blazes in his very own hell

Like cold death warmed up and the hobgoblin gone crazy

Women were said to bring bad luck as distraction of sailors

Strangely naked ones were welcome on board to relax the tiller

And the compass’s needle pointed nether like phallic delight

Tall and erect full of heart blood and passion he had once been

Yet living disaster had struck home and all pastels were stuck

Out of the blue an angel appeared who was poignantly wearing

A fine blue seductive dress of intricate weave and labyrinthine fabric

He undressed her in rising fantasy and she wished just the same

A super blue blood moon ready for passion and climax of harvest

Nivea turned into deep heat mixed with menthol and chocolate

With blueberry essence and grapes south of navel and nave

Finn had found huckleberries at last and she had been waiting

An eternity for a Prince to cherish her plum and gift her a peach

Dew reappeared like morning glory as they condensed into one

And christened white satin sheets for they embarked wet and wild

Fiona shone bright fair and beautiful honest open and upright

A sapphire dropped from heaven in light of a precious fine marble

Premium Member Open the Floodgates

Combatting attacks of spiritual dearth
My soul agonizes midst prayer plight
Yearning to be powered with divine might
As God opens floodgates of triumph mirth.

In overcoming supply-lack crises
My heart yearns for ready replenishment
And floodgates’ opening entitlement
Believing that the Lord timely blesses.

Struggling against discontentment sorrow
My carnal mind now demands grace to reign
While confessing doubts, causing woe and pain
Since bounty floodgates open tomorrow.

Reaching-out, sharing Gospel of hope’s call
My faith seeks the Saviour Who enriches
With trust knowing His hand widely stretches
To open* redemption floodgates for all.

*Psalm 118:19 Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD.

(1) Approaching with calculated strike, my psyche your aim; you anticipate my demise.
(2) With kind-hearted souls, vulnerability is oft misjudged. Frailty the frock we wear…?
(3) You presume pure passion and palpable tenderness portray a sappy sweetheart. Rather, love’s
(4) blaze ought infer diversified pleasures, boundless paths to endless expression, and intensity for life
(5) as well as love. The old cliché… and you have assessed poorly, my friend. Thus, your lamentable plight.
(6) For I am warrior, through and through. This blood courses through veins with same magnitude and
(7) ferocity as impassioned lover and will not be wasted on you! So, when you come, come prepared
(8) for every move will be countered, every thrust deflected, all advances refused. Your endeavor to
(9) unhinge me, drive me mad, even insane will lead to your last breath, defeat, undeniable pain.
(10) Great risk for ‘tis no match which can be scored. Exists but one conclusion when one lives by the sword…

I've decided to take a chance by submitting it while I consider reconfiguring this already condensed piece. On a journey not knowing whither

In the sunset eve of my life,
A recurring thought plagues my mind:
How can I, as a parting soul,
Discard my past and leave behind
My shame, like shoes put off in porch,
Pain, prejudice, like clothes worn out,
And leave all on my pyre to scorch,
And set off on journey sans doubt.

Thoughts on death, commonest of rage,
Trouble a parting traveller,
Bent down with some needless luggage,
On lips a pardon, last prayer,
Regrets for not living so light,
His dead body left like a lumber,
Oh, waiting on platform of plight,
For a train not knowing whither!

Power Circles Only Power Survives

I guess the means to be mean turn a being cold as ice
the unseeing witnesses see the unseen or be sacrificed
as wealth brings you power only over those who are poorer in life
it stands and it towers but stays weak to the powers at towering heights
to whom wealth is a game whereas power they claim is a God given right
one acquired by knowledge not for good or for horrid but the unseeing eye
through a web they all weave welcoming wealth believed to be a similar type
who operate in their circles without power to purchase true positions of might
just wealth to be servants in view on the surface if suspicions arise
preserve the integrity of the powerful entities kept out of clear sight
trusted with the access that comes with a death wish such power provides
wealth which knows power only brings about power of a powerless plight
when secrets you keep to blackmail or to leak will exploit all that they hides
when your enemies can do as they please overpowering your fight
so you’ll be like Epstein before you come clean they’ll turn out your light
when knowledge of the powerful threatens the powerful, you’ve no power nor life
thinking you live with an insight to give is a grave oversight

Premium Member Fear

The dreadful storm brews in the horizon recess,
my old boat sailing in the turbulent river tosses.
Rains come in terrifying torrents from leaking space,
my frail house struggles to stand in place.

Unrestrained intolerance spreads like deadly virus,
thrusts my trust onto the brink of looming menace.
Terminal disease strikes the mortal blow,
my body knows its vulnerability isn’t low.

Clouds of insecurity surge with tempest severe,
agonized mind sucked into the whirlpool of fear
swirls in the vortex of noxious fright of gale,
divested of the feeling that fear could be notional.

When life saunters on my own pathway, I feel proud,
but soon it’s full of intruding aliens of nameless crowd.
In the clutch of xenophobia I suffer in distress,
for I am scared of the unfamiliar otherness.

The journey’s end seems to be in dire plight,
as the light at the end of the tunnel isn’t in sight.
The scared senses feel the air of hazard unknown,
where wrecked hope piles up in trepidation zone.

Prudence augments my fear growing in qualms deep,
can’t rationally control the state causing panic to creep.
Wisdom doesn’t allay fear, an artifact of emotion innate,
but provides the acuity to face it with strength sedate.

The end is engraved in the beginning, I can’t disown,
for I’m constantly alarmed to face the unknown
at the final ordained milepost; the truth frightens me,
as all the time I fight fear, my worst enemy.

Blows, a soft wind, into a life
Stilling darkness and strife

Whoosh of light, gentle and bright
Glorifying, praising, until all is right

Huffing and puffing, guiding the soul
Causing hearts to see how to be made whole

Sniffing and snorting, telling the night
Even as the stars glisten, falling out of sight

Gasping, gulping the song – melody of hope
Telling the silence there is always a way to cope

Panting out a prayer, who tells God of our plight
We often feel lost, but know He can win the fight

Rasping and wheezing, the moments slip by
Often we feel alone and aren’t even sure why

Breathing, through the spirit – blessing with a glow
His love comforting me, His holiness more than just a show

The Holy Spirit knows me, more than I can say
I kneel, and with His guidance, my heart will softly pray

Later in Genesis we come to this passage: “Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being” (2:7). Genesis often uses the phrase “the breath of life” to describe living creatures (2:7, 6:17). We only have life because God breathes life into us. The same Spirit (or breath) of God that orders and fills all of creation in Genesis 1 fills people with his divine life—and Spirit.6
