Aloneness

Aloneness is different from loneliness
It is an occasion for personal growth
It gives an insight into humanness
And helps us realize our self worth

Being with others continually
Denies us from ever having a chance
To look at ourselves objectively
To build up our own self reliance

Self reliance is the key to coping
With acute periods of adversity
It provides us with an inner strengthening
To overcome and claim the victory

Self reliance is extremely vital
To avoid the feeling of loneliness
Which can happen when there is denial
Of other's support and togetherness

If you feel contentment in aloneness
It can help you to avoid a pitfall
It provides an inner based happiness
Which is the greatest happiness of all

661 The 1st Period of the American Era of Philippine History: The Coming of Americans

661.

The 1st Period of the American Era of Philippine History:

The Coming of Americans

The Philippine Revolution subsided with the Pact of Biak-na-Bato

Which paved way for the exile of Emilio Aguinaldo

While abroad, Aguinaldo met with American officials

And they both agreed to continue against Spain their reprisals

When war broke out between Spain & the United States of America

The American forces in Hongkong sailed to Manila

And there in the Battle of Manila Bay

American fleet defeated Spanish forces in a single day

Then Aguinaldo made his way back to his country

And led the Filipinos towards their victory

In June 12, 1898, he proclaimed the Philippines a nation independent

And inaugurated the Malolos Republic with him as president

But soon, American forces relentlessly arrived

The Americans & the Spaniards secretly connived

In Manila, a battle between them was fought as a pretentious display

In the Treaty of Paris, Spain sold the Philippines to the USA

This is the 1st Period of American Era – The Coming of Americans

The Spaniards made their exit, the Americans their entrance

Farewell, Spain, your colonization is over

God was turning the Philippines over to a new colonizer.

Premium Member the elevator

have you ever grappled with despair
not in imagery, symbolism or portrayal.

I mean, have you ever felt the elevator drop
the watery weakness that extenuates breath
a depth of fatigue that makes lying on the floor a burden
an aching pounding in your chest,
the broken-glass dryness in your throat
the gritty ache in your eyes
that makes you want to close them forever?

Struggle no more, leaden limbs,
free the weary weight.
Eyes that struggle, release the light.
The body begs to no more fight.
In a blur of sluggish thought,
I whisper sleep's sweet name.
The will has dropped.
The yearning stopped.
I’ll rest on that distant shore.

It steals silently in the dark night,
wrapping your mind into its arms,
telling tales of your majesty,
enhancing stories of your many charms.

Soon you feel on top of the world.
Nothing can get in your way.
Everything's perfect: you made it so.
You, the ruler of all your survey.

Money has suddenly grown on trees.
You talk ceaselessly, not eat a bite.
You ride along on the mania trip
where everything seems to excite.

Your opposite is depth of depression.
Ennui invades everything now.
You've come down with a terrible sadness;
the weight of the world furrows your brow.

Sleep becomes your only refuge.
About your dreams, one hasn't a clue.
When roused from sleep, you stare at TV,
and stare at the ceiling long periods, too.

This is the roller coaster of your life,
a ride one would not willingly take.
The ups very high, the downs very low,
the mediums you must forsake.

For those caretakers with a loved one
afflicted with this terrible assault:
you ride up and down on waves of their mind
because you realize no one is at fault.

The Bone White Road

They laid and built a new road;

in the heat of the day it looks
like a stretched curved spine
along which newly planted trees
grow their skimpy wishbones
as they file along the verge.

There is no shade to be had

just the thin oatmeal stalks of the trees,
their skinless stiff shadows
penciling in a marching sun
as it carves out graphite periods.

Somebody thought to put a fountain

in a bald space by the road
close to a beige housing lots.
Each new home is tantamount to the other.
Apparently beige will not offend
the eyes of any colorblind buyer.

It’s not a good fountain, not decorative,

it’s the kind of fountain to be found
fronting small industrial units;
the bone road circles it,
as if those who walk its arid path
will pause to admire the utilitarian art,
the listless spray of water.

In the heat of the day

it looks like a burst fire hydrant,
the sun does not paint it,
for the font is too sterile to reflect
any kind of rainbow illusion.

A little further on, the road

pauses to die next to some hardscrabble.
At roads end there is a scattering
of broken and splintered bones,
concreted residuals
of the suns dominion.

There is only one route home now,

back along the lane
to the head of the spine
where the colors of the world
were abandoned for the bland tones
of white and beige.

Something that is
          wasted at times
                    not intentionally

But through the
          course of events
                    It consists of

Great energy and strength
          good things and
                    periods of contemplation

Relationships and bonds
          are joyously formed
                    that last lifetimes

It is a time
          of happiness, no worries
                    nor cares

You have many friends
          Some of them
                    now deceased

And you look back
          at that time
                    with nostalgia

Est Perfectum

It’s like all the sudden something said "OK Ingrid, now it is time to write again"
So here we are… we two
….you and I swimming amongst these circles and squares...these dashes, darts and dots
jumps...stoppings and startings...periods and lack there of
...of course
So...It begins now
but then that is ridiculous
It began a long time ago in a land so far from me now I have to stop to recall it, as one would stop to recall a book they once read…the plot, the characters all so familiar and on the tip of mind and tongue but then of course not
and one is found floundering and searching …all the while wearing the most preposterous expression

It is impossible to search ones memory and have even the semblance of a sophisticated knowing expression on one's face
It is just part of the human condition
the great equalizer …the rich and the poor, the philosophically advanced and the dumb as dirt
ALL must flounder on memories forgotten and ever relentlessly forgetting shores.
We are not lemmings we are fish

Forgive my pun and weak humor… it is all I have got to try to amuse you while pondering and musing away the time ahead of us about the likes of….
Brown paper bags
Bags….ENORMOUS bags of candy: They MUST have weighed at least 5 lbs
but for a penny a piece =a quarter could make you
Queen of the gum ball and Sorceress of the jaw breaker for at least an entire day.

It is A wonder of nature we are not all dying of diabetes …..and very bad parenting
or are we?
But that is not our real subject…our real subject is the lay of the land
The dot dot dot of it…the slicing of any apple…the creating of a word...a letter …a phrase …any! and all! expression of the depthful interiors of the artistic vase with in
that est perfectum
not because it works and is perfect
but because it exists
at all
in mind and in daring
in ink

Premium Member 1996 Visit To Turkey

In Nineteen ninety-six, our son and wife, Majors
In US Army, moved to Izmir, their new base.
As usual, whatever place they were assigned,
We flew to visit them as well as dear grandkids.
So off we went to spend two weeks in Turkey, this
Outstanding country we had never been before.

So much to see at Ephesus—Metropolis
Of Antique Age; The Stadium, the Harbor Bath,
Basilica, the Marble Road, Heracles Gate—
All ruins now. Were sad to see these wondrous works
Of art and architecture now in disarray
And strewn about on fields on which they proudly stood.

Of varied striking sites in Pergamon, we saw
The City Walls, the Aqueducts, Acropolis,
The Temple Dionysus, that of Trajan too.
So many ages, periods had ruled this place,
Artistic wonders, structures turned to ruins—works
Of Persian, Greek, Roman and more, in pieces lay.

Besides the many ancient ruins visited,
We were amazed that many locals spoke our tongue.
They did their best to make us feel so much at ease,
Were gracious in combined Mid-Eastern/Euro style
Of hospitality and types of food they ate
And served, like cheese, tomatoes, olives of all kinds.

Izmir, a city mixed with culture old and new,
Like modern shops and open markets, outdoor stands
With fish and meats on ice, yet weighed on modern scales.
And women with fine bread on plates held up on heads,
Who walked the streets in morning, dressed in peasant garb;
Yet working business women wore more modern dress.

We ventured to the famous city, Istanbul,
Surprised to see the many high-rise buildings there,
And streets so overcrowded with their vehicles;
Large offices and business centers everywhere—
Ladies with fashion boots, purses and western dress;
Big contrast with those living back in country hills.

Such history surrounds this ancient, distant land;
So many varied cultures ruled their sacred world.
Museums filled with artifacts from centuries,
Safeguarded and in view to honor and behold.
This trip shall always hold such special, vivid thoughts
For us to cherish and remember for all time.

Of course, this one-time trip was many years ago;
We're happy we had ventured then instead of now,
For times have changed; such unrest grows within our world.

Iambic Hexameter

The Eye

The eye of the beholder created by observer,
ever virtues twilights preserver.

Attraction of beauty and normally,
perception in grace of subjectively.

Spiritual awakening to purpose realization,
seeing God’s face by pure admiration.

Be empty by the extraordinary heart in the ordinary,
intimate exchange with the almightiest faire.

Narrations with the pulse of world written in psalms,
meaningful cosmos radiant contentment spheres.

Tigers eye to sense natures communication,
worlds time by wheel constellation.

The eye of the storm in periods of time,
immortality in Horus eye as protection frame.

Left eye Moon and healing evening star,
five senses to thought so pure and far.

Into the eyes of blessings, joy and grace,
memories of images and his glowing face.

A young prince leaving a palace to find meaning,
to become the eye of the inner universe being.

The eyes of the Lord are towards the righteous,
and his ears toward their cry on all paths wondrous.

Open my eyes that I may behold of your laws,
the eyes of providence and its cause.

Premium Member The Secrets Of The FutureNow

As I have always said in my life time,
Our youth are not just the future to come, they are ‘The FutureNow’.
What we do for them NOW will determine WHO and WHAT they will be
TOMORROW…’The FutureNow!
The future belongs to those who are willing to think
Out side the box, not allowing
Circumstances, situations and conditions
To stop YOU.
Think out side the box,
Because it has been given to YOU
Ideas, talents, gifts, and great potentials
And it is up to YOU
To practice, practice and practice
Until that becomes
Apart of you.
In this message
I may not have all
Of my periods, commons
In the correct place
But don’t allow that to stop YOU.
The Scripture says, “Seek ye first
The kingdom of God
And He WILL open
Doors for YOU.”
“Seek and YOU shall find,
Ask and it shall be given unto YOU,
Knock and the doors
Shall be open for YOU.”
The past is gone,
The present is NOW
And when The Future comes
It is ALWAYS NOW.
Tell me yours thoughts
On this matter.
