Black angels rose today,
behind the dark sun that birthed them.
They bore me news of the grave,
one more friend too early sent.
My heart and the sky all 'round wept today,
as if together feeling the same loss.
In the clouds of my breath I saw his smile,
the one that used to calm me down so easily.
In my music I heard his laugh today,
the quick one that could chase all hurt away.
Only this time I couldn't just let it go,
just put it down and grab a drink with him.
I felt more stings than just the cold today,
calling to tell some who knew him.
I spoke to his wife of him and of them,
and offered what faint solace I had to give.
Of all the things I thought might happen today,
losing him was not among them.
Juan is strongly loved and sorely missed,
and I desperately wish -
I hadn't had to say goodbye today.
“What time did you go to sleep?”
“I didn’t sleep.”
“What did you do all night?”
“Suffer, as I always do. Suffer in ways I still cannot put into words. The best way to describe it is to tell you that I feel. I feel. I feel too much. I feel that nothing is predictable anymore, and nothing will change, until everything changes. I feel like I see what others don’t. I sense an urgency behind my minds quest to answer the questions around me, while I feel that I already have the answers, I’ve just misplaced them, or they have been hidden from me. I feel as if I am the answer to the questions of others. I feel like god.”
I never want to make you cry.
Sat alone; the way it has to be.
Surely this is the only way,
For you to be free,
From the burden and hurt,
For that's all I can feel;
I'm sad that I still feel the pain,
That you must never feel.
I have to leave, I need to weep,
To find my release and let you be free,
From the pain that I feel;
Help, I need a release.
I need your sympathy and your empathy.
For the tears I weep, in my misery,
Are the things that draw you, close to me
And the pain I feel is killing me.
For this woman I see, is all that I need,
To be with me; to make me happy.
But I can't be too close, or I just might love you.
I want you to kiss away my tears
And let me just hold on to you.
I want to send you to sleep, all happy and peaceful
And let me know that I lay,
With one of the beautiful people.
For my love I am enamored,
By your deep misty eyes.
So I will wait until you fall asleep
And simply kiss you goodnight.
I gently say I love you
And hold you close the whole night through.
Looking forward to the moment,
I wake up to you.

At night, death's dark whisper resounds
Chasing dreams, with bloody sweat unbound
Awakened by fear, his heart does pound
Beholding death's spirit, all around
By day, sleep flees, a rare reprieve
For he has slain it, with restless grief
A little slumber, a shout of doom
Forever haunted, a troubled tomb
Through "Baba Gbonka's" dark, deceitful gate
He sought wealth's shortcut, a fatal weight
Riches accrued, but health did flee
Mansions built, yet comfortless, he'll be
Luxury furniture, a hollow pride
Restricted to a mat, where he must reside
Strangers receive his charitable hand
But relatives, a forbidden land
Conditioned to spend, with daily strife
No peace, until his target meets life
Marriage yes, but children, a denied bliss
What's affluence without peace, but an empty kiss?
Who shall inherit all his earthly gain?
To what account, when his soul's laid to rest in pain?
The scripture says, "Godliness with contentment's the gain"
A truth he forgot, in wealth's vain, hallow reign
How can I define to you in a rhyme
My pain, melodically, nurtured by time
How can I make anyone feel what I feel
When all I know are lies, how can I make this real
Let me bring you down with me
As we walk through the fires, tell me what you see
Give me 18 years to destroy your worth
I’ll be in your brain til you regret your birth
Let me throw you to the lions blindfolded
Stand your ground, see how long you can hold it
Let me sully all that surrounds you
You’ll thank God for the worst you've been through
Only when your life hinges on hiding like I hid
Will you be capable of knowing pain like I did
Mr McCheesy has large feet
wears size 40 shoes, no simple feat
plip! plop! thud! phud!
was all you could hear
miles before he would appear
Many would hide to hold themselves safe
not wanting his cheesy feet near their face
many scorned, poked fun, gave retreat
all ran and hide, but never to seek
Mr McCheesy felt alone in despair
for he truly felt no one did care
mock him, tease him, laugh did they
each time he passed anytime of the day
One darkened morning
a fierce storm came calling
torrential rain lashed heavily down
ground gurgling, mud pouring
all ran, found cover, all prayed
When all was calm was plain to see
the devastation they did not forsee
disbelief, shock an all forlorn
wheat and corn was all gone
sodden wet mud laid bare openly
mangled limbs from drowned trees
Roads now broken, buried in ground
how was they going to travel around?
stuck, cut off from outside life
they knew to be in heavy strife
In distance a familiar sound echoed flew
splish splosh splush vibrated through
Mr McCheesy the man with large feet
pounding down the ground skillfully neat
Creating a road solid and sound
for everyone to convey around
feet echoing sounds they once did fear
now welcomed with loud roaring cheers
Lone warrior working his large feet
In rhythms of phuds and splats
Mr McCheesy on hearing their claps
spurred on reclaim land to reap
Added cheers erupted, boomed loud and clear
"you've made the horror disappear
Mr McCheesy you've saved the day
hip! hip! hooray! hooray!"
From that day forward none laughed at him again
ashamed and guilty of their bullying and pain
for he was their hero he saved the day
a statue was erected in his grand name
We are all unique with qualities of difference
some dont see, only show of their ignorance
god gave to us for reasons unknown
were all different it is often shown
but the devil he teases and tempts with his sin
turns us into imbeciles and cruelty sets in
If ever your teased to having cheesy feet
remember the tale wrote above
cheesy feet who saved that day
gave so much and forever his love

My weaknesses kill me as they are amplified
With painful memories I want to hide
I endured your wrong doing that never did rightl
By me while I stayed faithful by your side
Accused of things you did and lied
About everything and selfishly tried
Taking what you could of anything mine
Losing to you while the old me died
I was a glutton for punishment needing suicide
Sickeningly full from swallowing pride
Despite how many times you made me cry
Giving into what I thought I wanted mine
A fantasy that trapped me with my hands tied
With willingness to work through the fight
Being together, when all we did was collide
I allowed you too much space in my mind
I will never go back or press rewind
Back to us with me trying to hide
From what seemed like endless slowing of time
Anguished with heartache I took in stride
Closer to my limit with every crossed line
You tried to break me into your design
Convinced I was not already a dime
In reality you wanted me obliviously blind
Like you were to everything keeping you alive
Now only flesh of all things unforgettably unkind
To everything in me that brings to light
Unconditional love you had by your side
Now a hate that wishes you would have just died
Form:
I don’t know how
You can look but don’t see
I don’t understand
You listen but don’t hear
I can’t explain how
You feel but aren’t touched
How can you think, yet
You don’t understand?
How can you so easily turn away?
How can you so readily betray?
Their eyes of innoncence; oh what wonders await?
But quickly widen, fearful of the death and the pain
It hurts my soul every single day
My head, my heart, in every single way
I try to reason, and I try to forgive
But I bleed from my heart, you won’t let them live
Such short little lives, destined to die
Torn soon from their mothers, you don’t hear their cry
I hate you for doing this when there is no need!
We can live well without making them bleed
Oh I thought we had compassion, I thought we were wise
I thought we would easily see through such lies
I hope there comes a time when all the pain and the fears
Will fade and be gone and there’ll be no more tears
I just don’t see how…
I just don’t understand…
I’ve tried all my life…
I have no more words…
You don't know what I go through,
Im always bored stuck in my room,
My mind still stuck on you,
The heart is still stale like a broom,
You must not know but I feel dead.
I've been welcomed into hell,
Looking at all the messages since you left me on read,
When you speak I hear strange bells,
I'm still scared to love,
I feel death coming closer.
I'm stuck but i want to fly like a dove,
Wishing for the same thing,
But it might cost me my life,
To you it means nothing to me it means everything,
You and I can see the pie but I still don't want a slice.
I just want a future where I can fit in,
Not a future that breaks my hands,
I feel my life coming to an end,
I can't even ask a question so I said and,
I still feel a sharp pain in my skin.
My bones feel like I'm being stabbed,
I cant even move my hand it can't bend,
My body around you is as stiff as a shell of a crab,
I write cause this is how I vent,
I also want to be looked at as a Friend.
When I said that a day was coming,
When I would cry no more tears,
Or even verbalize exactly how I was feeling;
I was sure it would come to pass,
Just like today, and would soon be past.
I expected it not to be longer,
Nevertheless, I remained patient towards it;
Took in all the insults and shame and hate,
To have myself preserved, for a better death.
This isn't about death,
It's about how I have maneuvered all this time,
What I did and what I needn't do again;
In my mistakes,I have earned lessons,
Good and bad-
And through my waiting,I have gotten the deliverance.
It is going to go away but not forever,
But it's not something that should keep me down,
When I can live with it till the years go into history.
What I can not change,I have adapted to live with-
And that's how life moves on.
