Premium Member Do Not Dress As An Enchanted Table

I need it now! My irritating little sister was shrieking.
Her mask was not finished. The paint was still streaking.
My mother said, “It will be dry when we are ready to go”
But she kept griping and complaining. my sister, Mo.

It was Halloween of 1996. My own costume was a table.
Complete with teapot, plates, and cups, made by Grandma Mable.
I was enchanted like the Beauty and The Beast.
I was proud of my costume, it was finished at least!

There was a knock on the door. I heard someone yell Andy.
I was hoping it was my uncle with my Halloween candy.
He had promised me a Babe Ruth the other day.
If I could figure out a table costume, and here I was so hey!

It was my neighbor, the one who used to do all the car egging.
He was coming over again to do a bit of begging.
Can I borrow your scooter? He asked me. I have a costume to get.
I knew his reputation for wrecking scooters, so I said, “Just forget it!”

He left angry, but I did not care. Halloween was almost in sight.
I was too excited to eat supper, heading out into the night.
Hey! Our mother said, Be sure you take your Trick or Treat light.
I rolled my eyes, but did it, so we could get out all right.

I had not realized when I decided on my costume of enchanted table
It is difficult to get close to the trick-or-treat candy bags not really able.
The people pretty much had to choose from me, which was not so great.
I was disappointed when we came in with our loot at a quarter ‘til eight.

Not Me

My past
My mistakes
The right and wrong choices
My failures and successes
My hopes and dreams
The man looking at me in the mirror
The man you see with your eyes
All my physical homeliness and imperfections
All the words said behind my back
The good and the bad
The rumors and the gossip
The facts and the fiction
The lies and the truth

That’s not me, and that’s not who I want to be…

I’m the sad music that makes me feel there is love to gain through the pain.
I’m the cheek you can hit on one side and then again on the other.
I’m the walking mat you can clean your feet on.
I’m the laughter that comes easy and is given freely.
I’m the friend to the not-so-friendly.
I’m the heart you can wear on your sleeve for you to break over and over again.
I’m the life that matters less so yours can matter more.

Got Jokes

Whats the f*king deal
This sh*t can't be real
It's gotta be a hoax
Or some kind of f*ked up
demented joke
But I haven't laughed at all
Well a little giggle
while I was slamming my
head into this brick wall
over & over & over again
because... why the f*k not?
Sh*t's been a lil extra
you gotta admit - it's a lot
I'm tryin not to start cryin
I'd be lying if I said I'm good
They say you get back
what you put out
Soo - I'm guessin
bullsht is what my
life is always guna be about
I have zero doubt enough's enough
it's gettin a lil rough
whoever's in charge of this silly sh*t
gotta sick sense of humor
makin this life pretty miserable
just for kicks
MAN OR WOMAN -
SPIRIT - WHATEVER
Claimin the title of straight B*tch
probably won an award
makin it super legit
Why the f*ck we gotta
keep takin hit after hit?
js makin us wanna get & stay blitzed
in our own dazed out dimension
created solely by us
it's the only way we can even
 semi-maintain
Even tho we prob the only
ones to actually blame
For the both of us on the
verge of goin insane
This gettin kinda lame
I know we tha ones that
created this reality n came
But its a damn shame
seem like we legit
ran full speed out our lane
barely able to keep this goin
So expensive to sustain
Every aspect of everything involved
Is js completely drained
Ahh ...Ima js fadee

You Are Amazing

I know I should have been asleep a long time ago, but I just can't sleep
I feel like I'm falling so deep...
I feel the urge to silently weep...
I'm feeling so uneasy right now
I need God or someone somehow
I know I'm as annoying as a mooing cow

Yeah, I know...I know I'll live
Yeah, I know...who really gives
Yeah, I know...I have to give
Yeah, I know...it's late and I know I choose not to care...anymore...
Maybe I'm just like an open door...
No one cares if I'm sore...I need someone to the core...

You are amazing...
You are surprising me over and over again...
You just do your own thing...
You are astonishing - from 1 to 10, you are a ten
For amazingness beyond belief
For amazingness beyond grief
For amazingness beyond relief

Blissful happiness reigns upon my mind
Beautiful madness corrupts the one I can't find...
Which is you and your amazingness
You and I are like the light at the end of the abyss
You are amazing and you should know
That I care for you, although you don't
You are amazing and you're a good soul
And I do care for you, although you won't
Admit it to yourself...
I'm all by myself...
And you should know...
You should know that I still care for you though...

There's something missing in my life
There's something kissing away the strife
I know that God is near my side
I know something in me has died
And I cried myself to sleep at night
For you, alone, have been my might
But, you're long gone...
Who knew you'd move on...
You're amazing from dusk to dawn
But, you're long gone and you knew, deep down, that I loved you a ton
I just want you as true as the shining sun

There's Nothing Left To Say

I think about the sorrow I felt losing an old friend.
I close my eyes and remember all those years of growing up,
And captured those fond memories all over again.
I always knew you were a kind and gentle soul with a brilliant mind.
Unfortunately, so many didn’t understand you or even try,
You really were one of a kind.
Always seeking the answers deep, I your soul,
I like to think you found them all but guess I’ll never know.
I hoped you found some happiness before you stood knocking on heaven’s
       Door,
Your spirit like an eagle has left us to soar.
You’re at home now at peace and free,
There’s nothing left to say but rest in peace Bobby.

Not Once But Twice Dead

Doesn't everyone want something
for you all alone

That made the hair's on the
back of your neck stand up

Raises your flesh and gives you
that goosebumps effect

Easy anything you have ever
experienced before or likely
again to detect

To bring those feelings you felt come
flooring back you felt at that time

Some of the best moments in your
life you have ever had you never want
to forget

Because a certain particular individual
you had them with is no longer here to
share them with

If you fail to remember them or worse
let them fade

It's almost as if as well as they are dead
they have died not only once but twice
and been passed on all over again

So with a heavy heart and this sorrow
in mind

Remember and treasure ever good
time and memory spent with those
special specific individuals

Who are sadly unfortunately no longer
able to be here in person

To carry on the good times and make
fresh new memories with

Premium Member Morning Star

“Morning Star”

There, a Morning Star rose in the East
and reclined in the left side of my brain.
I called them Morning.
They called me Butterfly,
pinned me to the wall like I was an example
of what they thought love was like.
Prisoners are us, in this state of undress.

There is some pleasure in the pain
of a heart in full thrust, bursting open
like a dark, dark red rose.
The perfume piercing all senses,
intoxicating in full bloom, soft, full of dew,
inviting a kiss at close quarters
in their hard velvet time.

Face turned upwards
towards the wide smile of a burning sun,
arching Morning Stars and the immolation of fiery whispers
against the neck of a Van Gogh mind, the eyes fragile green stems, Monet irises swaying,
flecks of ultra-violet scryed within the treasure-pools of a twin flame reflected.
Gold stamens leave their trails like honeyed addictions, deliciously wicked;
Ochre-yellow ribbons tied around the tall stories of a whispering Oak forest,
the boundaries breaching the fire-shot hares and their blue-grey ghostgum sighs.

The ancient laws of desire -
distinguishing lust from love -
swallow us undigested, swept under the rugs of their Gideon pages.
Preying upon us, strange cardinals in their cloistered nests
in such complex states of red unrest, shake the boughs, to move leaves like fingers
that trace noughts and crosses over our naked hearts, sowing seeds in our breasts,
sliding their weathered veins all over our minds, shattering the blanched crystalised,
making the limbs of our stories flesh-borne, come alive.

We kiss under fresh, poisonous holly like it’s a new year.
The risks that we take for love,
the road to hell is paved with good intentions –
wearing fleece o’er wolf’s skin –
as below, so above;

The course of a full day never lets up.
The Sun rises in the east,
The Sun sets in the west.
We burn in between.

The embers of fire glow within the Moon’s luminescence,
ignis et aqua arriving like a tide hushing the prescient ocean
rocking the slick undertow - lux noctis aeterna sub silentio -
like a clam to be opened, a pearl to be plucked
from the fathomless depths of another dimension.

Over and over again, small victories are given up.
The shell discarded.

Walls

It was two weeks after christmas
when my sister announced her divorce

she said she just fell
out of love

and so the two hundred thousand
dollar house

the one with the wet ink still on the deed

wouldn't hear my nephews laugh anymore

wouldn't feel “I love you” leap from the
kitchen to the front door so the drive to work would be warm

wouldn't see any first gray hairs get plucked out into the sink over and over again
defying age staying young and dumb and passionate forever

but God

I bet my parents house looks at it
this young unbruised buck

“you didn't have to feel it!” it cries

“you didn't have to hear those boys scream, crying for their parents to stop hitting each other!

you didn't have to feel ‘I love you’ jump to door and shatter against the red paint

you didn't have to watch those gray hairs frame a face that turned all that passion
all that beautiful ignorance all that defiance into hate and stupidity

you're so lucky

at least they admitted when they fell out of love”

Restoration

some people think life's a game
hurting others over and over again
I came from a broken family
I came from a broken home
and someties I was locked out on the streets to roam,
the brokeness in my childhood caused insecurities and brokeness in my own adult life
But Lord when I completley gave my life to you I was finaly free from all the pain and strife,
after 30 years I was complete and whole again
even through my most troubled times you loved me just the same,
Lord I carn't thank you enough for giving a new life to me and my family
words Just carn't describe how much you we do adore
and through your goodness our lives you did restore,
Lord you are more precious and more valuable than any earthly thing
you're the only one who makes our heart sing,
I am sorry for the times I may of been a litle bit defiant
I am sorry for the times I may of been self reliant
i am sorry for the times I may not of been the best that i could be
and Lord i'll be forever thankful that through your Grace and Compassion
that you restored me.

In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal Glory by means of Jesus Christ. So
after you have suffered a little while , he will restore, support, and strengthen you and he will
place you on a firm foundation. all power to him forevr Amen. 1 peter 5 verses 10 and 11.

when people shatter our lives and our world comes crashing down God never fails to pick us
back up and puts our pieces back together, even stronger than we were before, God gives
every one freedom of choice it's not his fault when people choose to hurt us, he Just loves us
and catches us when we fall. God loves us with an everlasting love, never will he leave us
never will he forsake us, my life was broken apart more than once but I thank the Lord
that he restored my life and made me the person I am today. Amen

Remembered Past

Remembered boy along these lines
Remembered roughness through our tough times
Remembered blue eyes with his laughing look
Remembering him reading me like an open book
I called him up the other day
With so many memories for me to say
I haven't spoke to him in over a year
And I can't remember from him my last tear
Remembered walks and remembered talks
Remembering his slyness just like a fox
Remembered our high school years with each other
Remembering the wrestling-match with me and his brother
Remembering old songs he used to dedicate to me
Remembering 7 long years of us smoking bomb tree
Remembering deep talks and the tears we have shared
Somewhere along the lines then were we the cutest pair
The pictures taken of him and I
Remembering nothing unasked or a why
Remembering bus rides down the 38
Remembering his love and never experiencing his hate
I remember calling him in front of my fireplace back at home
Remembering our plans that were once set in golden stone
I remember the years I spent by his side
Somehow hasn't completely yet died
I remember his smile and his familiar touch
Way back when I loved him so much
My pureness to him I chose once to give up
Back when we were just kids --- just little pups
But still throughout high school our love stood proud and tall
Taller and taller and taller than the Berlin Wall
Now years later he's back to reunite
Back as best friends --- never having to fight
But with him he's brought a new piece of him
For I see Sophie has scored her perfect 10
Back a bit taller and a bit wiser than before
Back into my life into my newly-opened doors
And it hurts more than it ever has before
It hurts over all over again on top of all my past sore
To see him with her is a blessing I do confess
But our strong past history is being a pest
I smile for him, I talk to him, I make him laugh
I released his true love from a contradicting, jaded, wrath
Back to his arms she is home once again
Watching my new best friend score his prize and win
I look at him now to the man he's become
And give her props because she's truly won
To see a smile across his gentle face
And to watch him set his everlasting champagne glass on a beautiful lace
Would make life worth all of the while
And make me happy to see his well-deserved, happy smile
