If Walls Could Talk

IF WALLS COULD TALK

So many things are left unsaid
So many things are left undone
So many things are left excused
The feelings I have for you; can never be left unexpressed
Am done needing many things; all I need now is your love and affection
Am so confused on how to express it; don’t want to give you the wrong impression
Right from the start; you smooth criminal stole my heart
Am so stupid for not reporting the theft; guess I don’t want the criminal found
Am strongly assured that the criminal will keep my heart safe; away from other criminals
If walls could talk; they will tell you how happy I am to be your victim.

If this isn’t love; then I need a prophet to prophecy to me what else it is
I am not even half-perfect; but am on a mission of making something else perfect
A perfect love! Brewed from the brewery of imperfection; climaxing beyond perfection
I just want to show you how much I appreciate you; my endless love
Do you even know how much I care about your heart?
Am so dedicated to you; just want to forever be with you
I can’t help the fact that am always thinking of how to make you happy
No matter how strong the wind of tribulation seems to be; I can never give you up
It’s so cold without you baby; I will forever remain at mercy of your warmth body
If walls could talk; they will tell you how desperately I want to always be with you.

If loving you is a sin; I will forever be at the depth of beyond redemption
What in the world can I not do for you? All I want is to always do you right
If am as rich as one naira; I will buy you everything one naira can buy
If I must live, then I must love; you are the one I love now that am living
When I die; I want the world to know that I lived and that I loved you
The moments we shared together is safely treasured in my mind; engraved in my heart
I have taken a deep dive into your heart; don’t care if I drown in the ocean of you love
Even if I lost my mind; I can never stand and watch you burn in any sorrowful fire
Don’t be afraid baby! I am your hero; I am here and I will always be there for you
Listen quiet closely, the walls are talking; they are saying that “I will always love you”.

Dedicated to my love Dannycurrie...
Happy birthday sweetest heart!!!
I love you baby...

In the Kingdom Off Light

Only here nothing works.
We have been searching for it
For several decades we find not
Our missing but all salient light

How can you plunge us into total darkness
In a kingdom with trillions of millions of naira?
How do we explain total dusk in the day?
When the world is forgetting about darkness.

We weep as we hear “Kemol Yelil”
The Monk of our Kingdom’s light sector
Reeling out with impunity a plan for light
To be obtainable and stable in 2056
Indeed 50 years time of continuous gloominess!!

A Kingdom of ours with no illumination
Represents doom even amidst obtrusive boom
For many depends on light for existence in life
Alas! Our Kingdom’s Monks mocks us
As they on their light machine . . . we nap in darkness.

E Mu Numba

E mu Numba

E mu Numba
Pick your number
Right in your dream
Or from the whispers
Of the mad woman who lives
Sane by the garbage heap.

E mu numba
The young and old
Whose riches have been foretold
By numbers in red and blue
Crucified on the walls of the lotto shops
And on large crimson screens.

E mu numba
Those naira notes swallowing machines
Only defecate ribbons of papers
With the destiny of woes in print
Naira by naira keeps disappearing
While new numbers keep appearing

Can’t you see you are going mad
Starving foolishly on fad?
You now ask what numbers people see in their dreams
What time people’s appointments were fixed
And what number the mad woman by the road bellowed
They are jacking your pot while you keep dreaming of a jackpot.

E mu numba
Brother pick yours too
Like it were some diamond stone
Or some investment notes
Since your father passed it on to you
So you should be proud passing it on to your kids.

O ya r-e-s-i
Baba o ni k-a-l-o-k-a-l-o
Get more water to fill the basket
While you starve your children
Feed the machine with your savings
And wait foolishly for your cravings.

Houses are bought over
On every conspicuous corners
To summon people like you
That dream of riches
From the betting houses
To offer to it your loyalty of lasting penury.

How much have you made?
What bond binds you to this altar?
To sell of your innocence and humility
While you keep returning with more offerings.
Remember when the devil gives you a hen
Be ready to slaughter an elephant at his den

Politrickers

If it is about our sins please forgive us
And rid Nigeria of leaders making our lives worse.
Its true nobody wanna die yet
Sugbon they have made sufferings our daily diet;

And when election beckons they become angels
Trying to keep the masses under their spells;
We used to have the Zik, Sardauna and Awos,
But these new leaders treat us like foes;

Now all we have is a sick Naira,
On our mountain now is a raging fire.
Kidnappings and killings...
People exiting through the heavenly ceilings;

We used to have a lot of eminent scholars
Now we have more of erudite skullers.
Ritual killings for money and power
Has turned Naija's sweetness to sour;

May we be wise to reject these politrickers
In 2023 else they'll keep snacking on us like snickers!

Next Level

Look amidst the glorious tray
To see the terrain our act has played
Whether for the love or fun of it
The future will tell of what is done

My heart pants
For that which my eyes do see
Even less than that which is played on our screen
Our nation turning to the day of Samaritans

While our heads make their ways
To enrich their Masters offshore
The first change in global debt
And the second our fate is yet to know

But of great relief of more debt as at first
And it's tagged the next level!
Where have we got it wrong?
Which God have we offended?

That I can go to appease
On the elm of debt our representatives
Intend to renovate a building on billions
Yet the court rooms are good looking
For rodents to make as abode

The hospitals are well equipped
For the surgery of the mosquitoes
The roads daily grow to be vampires

We so have much to eat
That penury is the chief cook
In these you tend to seize our voice
Yet both old and young will be ready

To sing your praise
Upon the discharge of five naira at the stadium
Hear oh hear us
For our cry is enough to make an ocean

Daily do we do this
For that which hits our intestines for food and blood to death
We're blessed, yes we're
And let this be our pride

That you cease lending for the sake of the fetus
And for our nation not to be in the state of Samaria
Least we call on God to deal with you like Sanni Abacha

Hear me oh gracious God
To save your people from this slavery of next level being unfold.

CASH SCARCITY

Life changes in a twinkle of an eye;
Naira notes of low value seems high.

One billion naira in bank-: thousand birds in bush,
One thousand naira at hand-: billion get caught with a push.

It doesn't matter the FLOAT in your account,
What matters is the available handy amount.

It doesn't matter how much,
But the little one and its touch.

It doesn't matter if charges are bearable,
What such pains speak are unbearable.

It doesn't matter if you last five hours on queue-
What UNABLE TO DISPENSE cum turn subdue!

POS attendants are seen growing wings,
But they can't fly with MONEY PURCHASED stings.

Bankers hands are off the cause of scarcity,
Opposite CBN directives to circulate off adversity.

Blame should be on who for this loud whistle?
What's on everyone's wrists more than an epistle.

To traders selling cash to POS attendants,
Thanks for been such good assistants.

Living in the world of OPPOSITE at the moment...
Should not make the wrong people an atonement¡

Na Buhari

I sat at the exit of life,
My ears perceiving diverse trends.
Tis about the misfortune of the fortunate,
And the rebuke of the appraised:

Turmoiled state and heightened corruption;
Na Buhari.
Removal of subsidy sustaining scarcity;
Na Buhari.
Petroleum stretched her wing and soar to
145 naira;
Na Buhari.
Increase in price of goods;
Na Buhari.
Troop of sermonizers stealing away hearts;
Na Buhari.
A Boyfriend smashed the heart of his girl;
Na Buhari.
A mother kept seven meats in the pot but
finds just one:
Na Buhari.
Landlord increases the house rent:
Na Buhari.
Pastor lays curses on Members:
Na Buhari.
Caught in hunger's spell, a man willingly
visited death:
Na Buhari.
Different heads making noise in an hall;
Na Buhari
A man who woke up late for work;
Na Buhari.
A tailor who missed the proposed design;
Na Buhari.
Your Techno WX3 contract virus;
Na Buhari.
Even of what he knows nothing about;
Na Buhari.

Mr?
Ensure you do an affidavit.
Let them keep calling it,
You'll know that's not your name.

Oh Buhari.

Bail

Bail

Walking down the street
Jogging nor leaping
Our hope is given a little threat
By them entrusted the essence of our being

"...Your friend" is made to be their slogan
Truly it is to romance our purse
Even without guilt, just for their gain
Making us criminals in our house

Relations and friends in innocence
Are made to run from pillar to pole
For liberty to be made in praise
Yet obtaining from our purse is our friends' goal

Liberty is free in law
But frustration they make in making us pay
Yes, we do in ignorance of the law
Encouraging them feast on us all day

....."your friends", oh our friends
Of what good is a parasite friend
Incarcerating those presumed innocent?
For the benefit of their purse

Bail
They said you're free
Yet our beloved delight in jail
Not their will but the law that fails to agree

The worse is the court
Our hope, lord and strength
That verification must be supported with naira notes
Else, prosecutors will not make it fly

Presumption of innocence, not in their watch
Why the need for the law of bail?
That's the essence both courts and "our friends" never catch
Making the presumed innocents suffer liberation in jail

Many households are in disarray
For the loss of loved ones to "our enemy-friends"
Encouraging greed that persist to the gray
And the government turn unconcerned eyes

Who will save the innocent from the predators
Roaming around to be "our friends"?
As all roads blocked for a possible liberation
Leaving us with no options for solutions

Speak, I say speak out!!
Else "our enemies and friends"
Will keep feeding on us being ignorants
It's the law that bail is free and all must obey it.

Chronicles of Our Nations Surmountable Palava

CHRONICLES OF OUR NATIONS SURMOUNTABLE PALAVA

Our currency mirrors my area
and the state of our beloved Nigeria;
Worthless. Hopeless but a resurgent oneness.
The government parastatals are clueless,
But it's still our nation, more or less.

Despite holding so much promises
and natural resources,

our government offices
are managed by corrupt forces
already carrying generational curses.

Currency summation doesn't give grand equation,
rags of time sneers our 'notes into liquidation.
Just as the 100 naira equals 2 gala,
our currency is dwarfed by the dollar,

We don tire fo all the kuru kere & kasala
wey, for this country, don cause plenty wahala.
But here we stand in hope like a faithful lover,
singing the Chronicles of our nation's surmountable palava.

VOICES AND CURSES AGAINST A CROOKED THRONE

VOICES & CURSES AGAINST A CROOKED THRONE

Thunder fire you, Oh crooked throne,
That feasts on ?44 billion gone.
Betta Edu, Halima Shehu—names we know,
Public funds turned to private flow.4

Thunder fire you, Oh oil-soaked hand,
That hides ?500 billion from the land.
The NNPCL’s shadowed books,
While the people starve in empty nooks.8

Thunder fire you, Oh fraud of state,
Ninety-two projects abandoned to fate.
Fifteen billion lost in dust and lies,
Four hundred more never touched, though financed high.¹²

Thunder fire you, Oh weak mandate,
Born of a Constitution that twists our fate.
"On your mandate, you & your followers shall fall"
Your incompetency is printed across the wall.¹6

Votes without majority, legitimacy thin,
Yet you sit enthroned while hunger grips in.¹8

Thunder fire you, Oh blood-stained field,
Five hundred Nigerian soldier's lives unsealed.
Bandits roam Zamfara’s cold blooded night,
Sokoto soaks in fear & cries in endless fright.²²

Thunder fire you, Oh silencer’s bill,
That jails the critic, bends the will.
"Waka shege banza" echoes in the street,
And activists, except a few, fall beneath your feet.²6

Thunder fire you, as naira breaks & inflation climbs,
Poor mothers mourns & count their last few dimes.²8

Thunder fire you, Oh broken vow,
Renewed Hope is hollow now.
Twelve thousand dead, their names erased,
Ten thousand kidnapped, children displaced.³²

Thunder fire you, as you caused Plateau’s tears,
Farmers flee farms, Benue’s graves, Borno’s fears.
New terror group, Lakurawa rise, Sokoto burns,
Yet your useless promises yield no returns.³6

Thunder fire you, Oh defence in shame,
Zamfara governor Matawalle’s post, a cursed name.
The army outgunned, your people you betray,
While terror thrives and hope greatly decays.4°

And when the storm breaks, fierce and true,
The cry of the masses will thunder through.
No Aso Rock, no palace gate, no armored car,
Can hide your sad end & the shame of who you are.44
