In the Kingdom Off Light

Only here nothing works.
We have been searching for it
For several decades we find not
Our missing but all salient light

How can you plunge us into total darkness
In a kingdom with trillions of millions of naira?
How do we explain total dusk in the day?
When the world is forgetting about darkness.

We weep as we hear “Kemol Yelil”
The Monk of our Kingdom’s light sector
Reeling out with impunity a plan for light
To be obtainable and stable in 2056
Indeed 50 years time of continuous gloominess!!

A Kingdom of ours with no illumination
Represents doom even amidst obtrusive boom
For many depends on light for existence in life
Alas! Our Kingdom’s Monks mocks us
As they on their light machine . . . we nap in darkness.
