By the Lily Pond

How beautiful it was when the sun shone
And I walked with you,my dear husband, through the gardens.
How happy I was to sit with you by the lake
and to hear the water from the fountain splash.
It's our our favourite music now we cannot visit the sea
To hear the tide rush in,then fall sucking on the shingley beach.
But I see it in my minds eye.
Aldeburgh, the fishing boats go out at sunrise.
I awoke early and saw the sun across the sea
and the boats setting out in the soft light.
Dunwich,the heath filled with birds
the cliff and the beach where sometimes one can find marble
from one of the many churches washed away by the encroaching sea.
And Southwold, the marsh so quiet I heard crickets.
We went across the Blyth in the rowing boat
And saw the place from which our picture of Walberswick was painted...
If only life could be captured, slowed, for a few minutes
for us to receive the beauty and hear the sound of the sea
The everlasting music of the heart

The Nights Sky

In the nights sky, The big round MOON amplifies
Nocturnally a journey set in motion, as my minds eye opens
Through the SHINING STARS so high, to the MILKY WAY I will fly
Hyperspace I'll travel as time stands frozen, a journey full of emotion
Exosphere has been reached its a convey, to the planets walkway
Nebula's fill the empty darkness, in the distance I can see VENUS
Inferior they say, but her light beautifully bright it takes my breath away
Gliding by MARS in its state of unwillingness, a red hue glows in all its wickedness
Heading by the gas giant I flee, for JUPITER holds his principles in a high degree
To PLUTO it has armor made of ice, the dwarf PLANET its toughness will suffice
So as I reach my apogee, the emptiness invaded by mystery was a site to see
The stratosphere in sight, to Earth draped in deep blue she can really entice
Knowing the journey must come to an end, God I must commend
Youthfulness builds imagination for tomorrow, something we must never outgrow

My New Friend

I am learning more about me.
Who I am and who I aim to be.
I have found an outlet of sorts
That allows me all resorts.

The Soup has given me many new friends
Ones that have put me on the path to mends.
All the lovely comments and critiques
Help me to learn new techniques.

Some are family and are biased
But the one that remains the highest.
Comes from a dear sweet friend
Who likes my work to no end.

Or maybe just my name
Whatever, remains the same.
His work speaks to me
In my minds eye can see

All the places and scenes
Playing out on a screen
Some shock like a taser
Thank you dear James Fraser

In the Nights Sky

In the nights sky, The big round moon amplifies
Nocturnally a journey set in motion, as my minds eye opens
Through the shining stars I will find a way, to reach the Milky way
Hyperspace I will travel, this journey will not unravel
Exosphere has been reached its a convey, to the planets walkway
Nebula's fill the empty darkness, in the distance I can see Venus
Inferior she may be, but her light beautifully bright and full of love is what I see
Gliding by Mars in its state of unwillingness, a red hue glows in all its wickedness
Heading past the gas giant I flee, Jupiter holds his principles in a high degree
To Pluto filled with icy gracefulness, the dwarf planet that impacts toughness
So as I reach my apogee, the emptiness invaded by mystery was a site to see
Stratosphere is now where I will go, but I will say it was quite a show
Knowing the journey must come to an end, God I must commend
Youthfulness builds imagination for tomorrow, something we must never outgrow

In My Minds Eye

In my mind's contorted eye
My heart laments for our generation
And generations to come
In my mind's disgruntled eye,
I see squalor and poverty in Sudan
I see disaster, hunger,
Consuming, scavenging, rampaging
The bowels of our land
My heart weeps for the oppressed,
Displaced, and brutalized
In my mind's injured eye
I see the ruins of Bosnia
And the bloodbath in Grosny
Yesterday was Somalia, today Afghanistan
We all are engulfed in a bitter, unending race
In my mind's tired, confused eye
I see resigned, helpless faces
Of a saturated generation
Waiting hopelessly for the final
Chiming of the clock

Premium Member Epoch Paradox Found Written by Yolanda Joy Nicholsen

Meeting you here at last grasping
every thought every meaningful
gesture I'd wrap myself up in the
essence of your bronzed glow
slowing lowering my minds eye
to the depth of your soul capturing

this bountiful energy that seemed
to restore over and over again
mastered to the faint beating of
my heart mimicking ancient drums
of an untimely epoch insecurities
hidden beneath ageless notions

why I'd opened the doors to a nurtured
love paradox remembered without
effort concealed with truth a natural
fruited appetite for passions found
unmeasured an yet we'd balanced
yesterday and tomorrow today

Soul of a Perfectionist Life of a Couch Potato

Don’t criticise me from this poem
You’ll understand once I bring it home
I used to love DIY I was a fanatic
But it took me a long time and drove my wife spastic

She used to curse and say you not finished yet
You’ll end up leaving it half done I bet
I got so flustered it end been true
I could not see anything through

So I’d lay there and would not budge
Watching TV stuffing my face with fudge
She’d scream at me and says get off your lazy ass
Get the lawn mower and cut the grass

You know the saying “you can lead an ass to the water but you can’t make it drink”
I’d lay on the couch staring at the TV and wouldn’t blink
Now I was not this sort of person
But she was impatient and her attitude would worsen

I was a perfectionist in my minds eye
When it came to the thing I loved doing, DIY
Now I lay here a couch potato
Watching her face go red like a plum tomato

Holidays with my grandparents … I’ve such precious memories
My grandpa was so passionate about Mother Nature

As soon as I walked through the door he’d say
“Come on lad, grab your rod – we’re off fishing”
We’d walk together side by side to the azure blue lake
Grandpa would suddenly stop and show me dragonflies dancing
They pirouetted like ballet dancers gliding across the water
We’d stand on the bank and he taught me how to cast my rod
I’d get so excited when I caught a slippery silver fish
We’d weigh it, then release the fish back into the water

I spent many happy days with my grandparents
One summer I helped grandpa create a pond in the back garden
Such pretty pink water lilies, goldfish glinting in the deep water
I can still see it in my minds eye

My grandma was a wonderful cook and loved baking
I can still smell the aroma of freshly made gingerbread
We’d burst into the kitchen when we heard the kettle whistling
Then sit together with cups of sweet tea and a slice of cake

Many years have passed
Sadly my grandparents are no longer with us
Now I sit with my own grandson and teach him how to fish
My grandparents taught me so much …
I miss them both so dearly

You captured me in your rapture
I'd craved your quiet thoughts
throughout the galaxy entering
the lost meeting of the minds
dangling on thee arch bishops
ropes of fine linen totally taken

my muse awakened my sorted
energies a rapture of meaningful
gestures hidden lessons keeping
the flesh at bay I suppose
I'd welcomed your company
this mere thought of you

cradled my minds eye
lifting me up to tomorrow
leaving absolutely nothing out
a faint whisper a tainted pout
cherubs doting harmonic rose
gently witnessing heavens prose

Premium Member Pushing Fingers---Erotica Contest

I sit next to her
Dreaming my boyhood fantasies
The side of my hand touches her thigh
Wishing I could reach between her legs
Push my fingers into her softness
Feel the dampness of her need
Hear that wanting sigh
Her calling out
"ohhhhh, you're my guy
push deeper
I want to fly"

I look down her top
see the delicate curve of her breast
imagine what it would be like
to see her undressed
Within my minds eye
every part of her caressed

Me her master
In control
Her desiring me to fill each hole
together intertwined on the floor we role
I dive deep
like a submarine
As I push forward she grinds and leans
Me taking her places she's never been

From my mouth a gurgled sigh
Wetness creates a dark stain near my fly
She turns towards me
my throat goes dry

I silently pray
"please don't look at my pants."
If she sees it
I won't have a chance
She smiles a knowing smile and says
"Don't worry young man,
it's time for him to come out and play!"
