What do you tell me, My Beauty?
You turn and stop..,
you look at me with your wistful eyes,
your luscious lips are apart, but you remain voiceless…
The pearl in your ear shines ~
light on your face shimmers mysteriously,
your eyes are calm ~ reflecting, refracting
the depth of your emotions…
those dove-like eyes are artist’s inspiration!
The topaz blueness of your headscarf
with which you have covered your sensuality,
surround your face with serenity of
the ocean, gleaming emerald green
of your dress evokes the unspoilt
beauty of your youth…..
You are not what you appear
to many souls in this mundane world…
they don’t see the painter’s Muse…
You are the nymph, who visited me
for a rare moment of tranquility,
the Pearl shone, an iridescent
gem sparkling, opening your heart~
You remain immortal in my creation...
my masterpiece?!

My Grandma was a little different., Dad used to say it was in her chromosomes,
For example at Christmas we didn’t make gingerbread houses, she called them Gingerbread homes.
“We’ll make a nice home for when a gingerbread man and a gingerbread woman wed.
“After all”, she’d say, “even gingerbread families need a nice roof over their heads.”
Grandma would say, ‘It’s my hope that long after I’m gone…long after I am dead
You’ll remember the lessons you learned as we made homes out of gingerbread”.
And today as my wife and I make gingerbread homes with our grandchildren…as we watch them sprinkle on the snow I remember the lessons Grandma taught us…in her kitchen all those years ago.
She said, “have fun when you’re in the kitchen…don’t worry about making a mess.”
When we asked her to do something she’d say, “it’s easy to say no to your children…sometimes try saying yes.”
On days when our homes fell down and we didn’t think ourselves very good cooks Grandma would say, “a house made with love is never as bad as it looks!”.
It didn’t matter how our homes turned out Grandma was always thrilled…and if she saw we were dejected or crying…she’d help us to rebuild.
“This is another beauty of life and gingerbread homes,” she’d say, “for no matter how many times it takes…every time we rebuild or make a new home…we‘re learning from our mistakes”.
“Every time we make a gingerbread home .” She’d say, “as we make more and more and more…each new home turns out a little better than the home we made before”.
This year our grandchildren outdid themselves…the kitchen was a total mess
and when they asked if they can add more snow to their homes…remembering Grandma we enthusiastically told them YES!.
For its our hope they will remember this moment…these lessons long after their Grandma and I are dead…lesson they will pass on to their grandchildren as they make their homes out of gingerbread.
Pride prolongs a fall when schemes drop into the dust.
and though your heart is hurting your mind feeds on worldly lust.
And when foolish plots fall apart and laughs become the means most tried.
The shades of evening are drawn and closing, shadows hide your empty pride.
A lift of the chin and a smile on the lips, a mask so easy to wear
But a prideful heart creating a wreck, an almost impossible repair
When treasures are won, then lost and two different worlds collide
leading to a retreat to shadowed places , at least you can say you tried
Your pride has caused so much pain with your stiff neck point of view.
And though it's wrong you barge right on and another plan falls through.
Dark highways leading to nowhere and no turn-around comes into view,
But, the glitter of gowns and soft city-lights hide the truth from you.
Laughter, jokes and grand apparel have covered many a tear.
But pride trots out to judge the cost, you’ve been paying on, for years.
With all those good days of fame, now lost, let your conscience be your guide. Your comforts lie in the moon’s dim glow where shadows hide your empty pride.
When we look into nature, we see beauty, and destruction
Peace, and chaos
Water
Can be a beautiful flowing stream
Or a raging waterfall
A gentle rain tapping on the window
Or a violent flood sweeping away the livelihoods of many
Fire
A dancing source of light and heat, used for centuries to guide our world
Or an out of control force of destruction
Taking everything in its path without mercy
Snow
Unique crystals falling from the sky, decorating the world with an icy white glaze
Or a blizzard
Trapping people in their homes, causing pain and chills to those who cannot escape its wrath
In the same way we have a choice everyday
Beautiful and peaceful
Or destructive and chaotic
Which will you choose to be?
The world looks so different nowadays
We can get things without stepping out of the threshold of the house
We can do online shopping and e-banking
Many things are reachable even to the handicapped
These are the benefits of science
Especially the handphone and the computer
In front of the eyes of judgement
The handicapped may not be treated as handicapped
But the nonhandicapped may sometimes be treated as handicapped
When they are too lazy to work and study
When they snatch, they steal, they corrupt, they scam
Hurray,
The handicapped should struggle hard to
become
Nonhandicapped spiritually one day
Being explores
The cause becoming
In transcience here
Brief is our stay
On earthly shores
Where being explores
The way to go
In script unsure
Is mostly trial-and-error
Follow the heart
That seems to know
Just how and why
The answers come
In unsure steps
That reveal hindsight
So many questions
That come to light
In odd equations
Some seek to find
The unknown sea
Yet fail to be
True magic is found
As courage acts
To fact and form
Be unafraid
For fear casts a veil
Burst all illusions
Life yields to love
Surpass the mists
Go beyond fear
A deep dark cave
Protects the truth
From undiscerning fools
Illumination comes
With layers peeled
Life's like an onion
See that you see
Beyond all sensing
Truth waits for you
Recognize your gifts
Use well your talents
Reason why you're here
Each to a lifetime
Well worth living
God makes no mistakes
Being starts flow
Becoming now grows
Blessings here show
Seek the true light
That lights your way
Dare to be just you
Just like a flower
Bloom where you are
Live your best face

There is just way too much locked inside,
So many things I would love to confide.
I am so angry and confused,
My soul is quite oh so bruised.
I want to be a whole person again,
Everyone says it is just a matter of when.
My life has been put on hold,
And inside I feel so cold.
There are days I am just so numb,
Nothing warms me, not even my rum.
There are days that a ray of light shines through,
Then the clouds come back and I am again blue.
I am told to have faith and believe,
That God is there and will give reprieve.
Faith in Him I do have, truth be told.
I just feel He has bigger things to uphold.
I am just one tiny person in a sea many,
I feel like I am the bad luck penny.
I have family and a few select friends,
I know they have issues at their ends.
Maybe I am just in so much pain,
That all I feel is insane.
One day soon I would love to be feel joy
And no longer feel like others I annoy.
I really despise all this despair,
Please Lord hear my prayer.
The lake was beautiful and calm as you see yourself in it.
The surroundings were made of tall autumn grass.
Leaf's are shedding off aspen trees with cattails near
the mouth of a lazy river.
The setting sun brought out the beauty of autumn's color.
Using my cheap fishing pole, I cast out my bait into the lake.
As I watched my line slowly drift to the pristine lake.
A sparrow then flew into my line and tangled itself in it.
Without hesitation, I reeled in my line with the sparrow on it.
Gently I held the bird in my hand and untangled it from my line.
Amazingly, the sparrow remained calm as I untangled it.
It sat in my hand for a moment, and I cast it into the air, and it took flight.
There have been many more rescues of birds in my care.
One was a blackbird that flew into our sunroom.
It was hot in there, and the bird was in distress.
Its mouth was open and breathing hard.
I lifted up my finger to it, and incredibly it jumped on it.
I whisked it outside, and it remained on my finger
until it closed its mouth and flew away.
Another rescue was with a green Hummingbird.
It flew into my screen door, and it was stuck.
Calmly, I slowly wrapped my hands around
it as not to hurt its wings.
It remained calm in my hands, and I tossed it into the air
and it flew away.
Life, given a chance to live, will flourish before your eyes.
The Angels have come
to take me away
The only hug I can give
are the words I write today
In my shaking hand
They've placed a golden pen
So I ponder my past
my here now and then
What words of wisdom
do I have to impart?
At this moment
I wish to express my whole heart
When you find your soul is aching
and you're far from okay
The best gift I can offer
is to learn how to pray
For nothing is as bad
as often it seems
Although life has tearful moments
you must cling to your dreams
Cry when you need to
don't keep emotions trapped inside
Happiness needs growing space
It's blocked by what we hide
Let tears cleanse your spirit
loss and love makes you whole
Don't avoid your sadness
it strengthens the soul
Nothing is forever
so take many chances
Each stage in your life
is a collection of dances
Breathe in every moment
until your very last breath
Because not truly living
is a sad sort of death!
They are the Ghosts of the Orange House she whispered.
By the whisper, I figured she thought I knew about them.
I didn’t, but I have heard many rumors since; I emphasize rumors.
They think they are all that; they have wild parties, they are frightening.
They are tight-knit, they despise strangers, they chase interlopers off.
Having no idea what that meant, I decided to stop by for a visit.
They were eager to meet me and welcomed me with Earl Spook tea.
This is delicious! I told them. Some were shy; they tittered about that.
Grandma Ghost of Orange House said I could come back any time.
The next time brought homemade cookies.
We cannot eat them, but we sure enjoy smelling them, they told me.
I was so glad I decided to make up my own mind
Instead of listening to rumors.
