Divine Comedy written by the famous, Dante Alighieri
A writer, a poet, and a philosopher with his own theory
Still hard to understand after 700 years
Listening to it in Italian brings tears to your eyes, that’s clear.
It took thirteen long years to complete
As you read about his first love, Beatrice Portinari, so sweet
Went to her grave with his love unrequited
He understood the love he held for her, which ignited
A poem, a line, he saw a lake under his feet
Midway upon the journey of our life is where he started his poem, so rife
They say the first three lines of this work are so well known
That even many who have never read it can recite them - it has been shown.
In the depths of the heart, where emotions reside,
Love and fear dance, side by side.
A delicate balance, a cosmic embrace,
An eternal struggle, in this mortal space.
Love, a tender whisper, a gentle caress,
An ember that ignites, a flame to impress.
It soars on wings of hope, defying all bounds,
A symphony of feelings, where passion resounds.
But fear, a shadowy specter, a haunting chill,
Creeping through the veins, a shiver so still.
It whispers of doubt, of impending demise,
Casting clouds over love's sunlit skies.
Love seeks to bloom, like a flower in spring,
Bathing the world in colors that sing.
It holds hands in the darkness, guiding the way,
Through trials and tribulations, come what may.
Yet fear, with its grip, tries to pull love astray,
Binding it in chains, leading it astray.
The fear of rejection, of love unrequited,
A tempest that rages, love's fire ignited.
But love, steadfast and fierce, refuses to yield,
It shields the heart, a protective shield.
It quiets the doubts, the anxious refrain,
With love's tender touch, fear is but a bane.
For love and fear, intertwined they may be,
But love's light outshines, setting hearts free.
In the face of fear, love emerges strong,
A melody of courage, a triumphant song.
So let us embrace love, despite the fear's plight,
And together we'll conquer, with love as our might.
For in the union of love and fear, we find,
A strength that endures, an eternal bind.
if my heart was currency,
you’d be the richest man alive
if being loved meant beauty,
you’d be the prettiest in the land
but if being cherished meant to be doomed,
you’d unlearn how to fly
so heaven would be missing an angel,
your lack of wings would make you fall
you’d be forced to live with us mortals,
where only your smile would make you reach
all that we called impossible
if you were to put it on display
so everyone could see
just how perfect you are,
just how easy you make it seem
to be an angel in a world
for wingless people like me
if i wanted to be prettier,
i’d strive to be more like you
if you needed to relearn how to fly,
i’d spend hours telling the stars about you
but if you wanted to stay,
i’d make arrangements for that too
i’d even hope for it in secret
so it’d be just me and you
I who once was beguiled by shallow love,
Like love-god Cupid did make a wrong choice,
While youthful mind of mine loveless did starve
Of wanton sport that had a transient voice.
All furtive joy spring from unconscious guilt,
That grieve me, and no longer have their worth,
The tower of Hope in course of time I built,
Doth tumble with Contrition’s sudden birth.
Thy nonchalant face speaks of false amour,
And for thy sake ascetic I must be,
If thou cannot, who can me thus allure?
But rue I must, my heart’s ensnared to thee.
Now with the fleeting moment thou art gone,
Woe loves him best who is by Love forlorn.

My love for you is Agape
It has no reason
Though it isn't reciprocate
To me, it has deep meaning
My love for you has no season
It is the unending rush of a waterfall
The eternal blossom of the wild pumpkin
It can never fade and never stop
My heart is crying, it needs you
Everything in the world is meaningless without you
I don't want to dream of you anymore
Now, I want you for real
God created you unique
He uses all his beauty techniques
He gave you the best physique
Even without you visiting a boutique
You always look classic
They say everything happens for a reason
If we were meant to be together that It will work out in the end
What I know for sure is that,
I will never forget you even if you forget me
If life insist that we need to go our separate ways
You will still dwell in my heart till my dying days
My love for you can never be erased
In my world you can never be replaced
It maybe now or never
I will wait for you forever
Maybe as forever is over
The feeling I had for you will be over
It is night's first light — evening
The world thinks through my mind
The echoes of a bittersweet day whisper
My ears twitch, my heart pricks
A pressed edge leans forward
Shouldering the offices of the earth
A desire to just surmount the hurdles
Like an infant falls yet learns to walk
The one weary of deferred hope
The other elated 'bout a filled cup
The one broken to a love unrequited, at least lost
The other happy, healed at finding love
Life's but a parody of exhilarations
A gnome ignited by fiery undergoings
The man, an eloquent stammerer
Profiting and lossing to antiquity
Love, life, life and love — there's no life or love without wins
Pa, ma, lad and lass — you have no family without wins
Works, rest, rest from works — there's no rest without wins
Wisdom, wits and will will wither — to live is to first die
"To play a wrong note is insignificant, to play without passion is inexcusable"
Beethoven
Hands above the keyboard, flexible fingers start to dance
Up and down, back and forth, so skillfully they prance
Interpreting a dream into a poem without words
Awakening both heart and soul, emotions swiftly stirred
The restless soul is soothed, unsolicited tears fall
Such beauty in the sadness that the heart becomes enthralled
Soft and sweet love unrequited, sobs in every phrase
I quietly sit and listen as "Moonlight Sonata" plays
Thirty six, fifty two, black and white piano keys
Serenading time and making music written to appease
The fingers slowly moving in a minor c sharp chord
Which brings me back full circle, hands at rest above keyboard.

A million whispered moments pass
as I watch you glide through the crowd,
your measured steps so gracefully danced,
a coy kiss placed upon my cheek,
as you spin in place with each movement.
But it's just another whispered moment,
one in a million, lost in a breath.
A love from a distance, from another place.
You don't even know me.
Upon your chest, I lay my head,
your beating heart sings poetry,
my eyes upon your moving lips
as hushed breath hints rumors of you and me.
It's just another moment.
And it's just another whispered moment,
one in a million, lost in a breath.
A love from a distance, from another place.
You don't even know me.
I can't go on living this dream
I'd give my life if you could just see me.
But it's just another whispered moment,
one in a million, lost in a breath.
You don't even know me.
As the crowd thins, you move away,
like a mist that fills me you simply fade,
leaving me to await another day.
The moments passed yet you linger on
to haunt me.
And it's just another whispered moment,
one in a million, lost in a breath.
I can't go on living this dream
I'd give my life if you could just see me.
But it's just another whispered moment,
one in a million, lost in a breath.
A love from a distance, from another place.
You don't even know me.

Deep within my heart, a love abides,
For the man of my dreams, my soul confides.
Yet, though he tends to my every need,
His affection falls short, a wound indeed.
Each passing day, my yearning grows,
Every part of me, longing shows.
But amidst the care, a pain I find,
His gestures sometimes leave me behind.
An act, seemingly small, yet cuts so deep,
Leaving my heart to silently weep.
Was it deliberate, to stir my fears?
Or simply misunderstood, through my tears?
I wish I could release this love's tight grip,
But with each attempt, deeper I slip.
Dreams of a future, with children in tow,
With him, my heart's eternal glow.
So here I am, torn and torn apart,
In love with a man, yet feeling apart.
For he holds my heart, yet keeps it at bay,
Leaving me yearning, day after day.
