A Love Unrequited

Deep within my heart, a love abides,
For the man of my dreams, my soul confides.
Yet, though he tends to my every need,
His affection falls short, a wound indeed.

Each passing day, my yearning grows,
Every part of me, longing shows.
But amidst the care, a pain I find,
His gestures sometimes leave me behind.

An act, seemingly small, yet cuts so deep,
Leaving my heart to silently weep.
Was it deliberate, to stir my fears?
Or simply misunderstood, through my tears?

I wish I could release this love's tight grip,
But with each attempt, deeper I slip.
Dreams of a future, with children in tow,
With him, my heart's eternal glow.

So here I am, torn and torn apart,
In love with a man, yet feeling apart.
For he holds my heart, yet keeps it at bay,
Leaving me yearning, day after day.

Unrequited love is hard, especially if you have attachment issues and are not secure. Love is a funny thing. Passion is often confused for something else, sincerely longing to fill a hole forgotten. Unconditional love is genuine and free, but childhood trauma confuses hard truths. You beautifully conveyed this sad portrayal of being stuck in stagnation! Thank you for sharing ????

Dear Reader, "A Love Unrequited" explores the pain of loving someone deeply while not receiving the same affection in return. The poem expresses the narrator's struggle with longing for the man they love, despite feeling overlooked or misunderstood at times. It captures the heartache of yearning for a connection that seems just out of reach. Feel free to share your thoughts on the poem! I hope you enjoy it! Regards Innantia Magcanya
