A Single Red Rose

The bouquet arrived with one red rose, encased in a mass of white, the single rose told of
a secret, always denied by his dear wife.

Like clockwork every month of May the red rose he would save, placing down a wreath of
white, upon his wife's grave.

The White represented happiness, one for every year, he spoke to her so softly saying
"They smell really sweet my dear".

He often talked of his day, his breakfast and his tea, he'd say "conversation's difficult
when the only one who talks is me"

"I always knew your secret, why did you never say? you could of told me anything, secrets
never go away"

He felt a pang of sorrow, one secret never shared, they'd play around it constantly, like
neither really cared.

"You almost once admitted it, remember when we danced, I held you close in my arms, in
love's classic starstruck trance"

He wondered why she held it back, he gave an almost smile, lost in thought he sat with her,
in silence for a while.

"If I could get to talk with you thats the question I would ask, why you never told me,
you'd say cause you never asked"

As he prepared to leave, picked his coat up from the grass, he looked down upon her grave
and said "well I always knew my lass"

20 years she had loved him,and one before she thought he knew, he'd tease of that often,
she denied always it was true.

So in the bouquet he order's are white roses of their truth, and a red one for the single
year he'd secretly loved her too.

Words are not enough
Language of April showers
Say it with flowers.

Gracious camellia
Daintily posing, but in vain
Begonia lost in thought.

Desirable
Hopes teeming with ambition
Of a stargazer.

From friendship to love
Exchanging yellow petals
With the deepest red.

Delicate beauty
Of hibiscus in full bloom
Inspires iris.

A blushing lilac
Unaware of dawning day
Dreaming of first love.

Bittersweet flower
Ever loyal to the end
Won’t betray a friend.

Parting time is near
Save the memories within
And forget-me-not.

Yellow hyacinth
With a heart that knows no peace
Nest of jealousy.

Morning breeze scatters
The rich fragrance of jasmine’s
Deep sensuality.

Numerosity Nutcase In Notable Nothingness

cold as ice with the heater on
the aspirin causes me to bruise
like murky water mirages on a ceiling of used stars,
i become lost in thought as the scent of you makes me float on air
i believe that i am immersed in the confetti convention of my makeshift reemergence
icicles form on the tiny tips of my mustache
every breath that i take burns from the consumption of your irresistible image
one false stroke southbound and it is suddenly summertime
the dunes where many memories were made has dissolved into a sandstorm diary of misty remains
every current upcoming morning stings like disposable razors of surefire frigidity
my phrase called 'talk' are run-on simple sentence jumping over rusted hurdles of shame and regret
hot as hellfire with the window fan on
the pradaxa causes my blood to be just thin enough....to cut the heater on again

Premium Member His Promise

And as I opened up the door
The sight which met my blood-shot eyes
A sight I'd never seen before
I was struck dumb and hypnotized

Colors flashing
Spirits passing
All before my cold and glassy eyes

As I walked through the open door
I witnessed sights I'd never seen
Cosmic ships afire on distant shore
Places I had never been

Lightning flashing
Spirits dancing
All before my cold and glassy eyes

As I stepped beyond the open door
I saw lands of promising
Experience of evermore
Just where He said that they would be

Colors flashing
Spirits passing
All before my cold and glassy eyes

And as the door closed from behind
I stood there on the opposite side
Lost in thought inside my mind
But was I ready for the ride

Lightning flashing
Spirits dancing
All before my cold and glassy eyes

I took a walk there out of time
To a land that time forgot
There was no reason or no rhyme
I finally found there what I'd sought

Colors flashing
Spirits passing
All before my cold and glassy eyes

A brave new world He promised me
All the wonders I would see
A land of life, love and beauty
All together and complete

Lightning flashing
Spirits dancing
All before my cold and glassy eyes

Premium Member A Man Called Leo

I tread between green mounds of decay,
seeking a particular headstone.
Lost in thought, I lose track of the day,
for I've seldom felt so all alone.

Where the dead rest under monoliths,
a feeling of fear clings to the shade.
But despite supernatural myths,
I begin to wander unafraid.

A dying sun highlights every grave:
gilding inscribed epitaphs of old.
And reading words the grieving engrave:
I seek warmth within a love gone cold.

My heart disputes the pains of my youth,
still in denial, despite years of ache.
And failing to disregard the truth,
tears dissipate like drops in a lake.

I stand still before the place I seek:
where lies a military hero.
And a single tear runs down my cheek
for my father, a man called Leo.

ACHE

My heart beats erratically…
For reasons I can't explain…
I find myself in pain.
Each beat resounds with an ache.
I wonder…
How much more will my feelings take?
I wonder what could it be this time.
I wonder why I am lost in thought again—
Not just figuratively,
But in every essence of the word.

My hands on my chest
Do not pacify;
Instead they attempt to pierce through like a sword.
I hold myself up,
Gasping for air,
Screaming out of fear.

My desire to fade away grows.
I fear one day
I might truly disappear.
The urge grows stronger and stronger.
I walk unsteadily,
Seeking solitude.
My screams…
This might be it.

The fog of confusion
Swirls all around me.
I remain
In a constant loop
Of repetition.

…Laughter echoes from the depths of my mind—
One that tells a joke,
A joke of me.

Slowly I begin to lose control.
The sound of my own voice prickles me,
And a picture of me causes my heart to ache.
I wonder…
What is this?
This feeling of abhorrence—
Who’s it for?
…Could it be me?

Why does it feel like
It only grows
More and more?
Will I ever go back to what I used to be before?

The questions I ask receive no answer.
I walk,
Swaying from left to right,
Yet I feel that despite my resistance
I know that
I am losing this fight,
That it's getting darker,
My tunnel losing light.

I feel myself sinking deeper,
As if I never stopped falling from the heights.
I quiver ever so slightly.
I hold myself tightly
While I wait,
For each batch
Hits harder than the last.
I grow weaker with each hit.
I wonder, is this it?

My demise seems inevitable.
Yet I cling to hope,
Looking out into the void—
WAITING.
…waiting… waiting… wai.t..ing.
Wai…t..ing…
W..ai..ti..ng…

My waiting becomes longing.
Slowly it becomes despair.

Lost in Thought, A tribute to Poe

Reluctantly I sat abusing
Some old and sad familiar musing
That for some reason kept refusing
To lie quietly

A thought that in a moment read
Was understood and put to bed
Now prancing once more round my head
O daring memory

Why must thee wallow on the tongue
Barren tree with fruit unsprung
Tormenting, tempting songs unsung
In endless reverie

So oft times I've thought before
Unquiet spirit I implore
Why dost thou rattle through these doors
Of vain assurety

Must I bear this burden hence
Without knowing why or whence
These troubled thoughts but for a pence
In silent suffering

Lost in thought, on the edge of a creek bank,
where the heart is caught between the songs
spun by dandelion seeds, blowing softly,
and whispering winds, gifted with wonders…

gentle joys, swiftly playing on the edges of a dew-stained moment,
when colors of grace in hues of rich purple and scarlet,	remember
the burnt amber, the laughing sienna, the distant buttercup yellow,
playing on the heart who can see through the distant seas…

a dream, unburdened by the winds and the rising sun, beyond the shadows
a morning clinging to the moon despite all she’s done,
sensations of trembling psalms, abiding in the nights,
shadowed by light who will never fade,
because the sun casts her light where there is One…

who knows what it is to see through the ache, the pain, the grief,
into the drifting of a light, a sense of what it is to believe,

His life, a gift to those of us who can see
beneath the faded silhouettes of darkest storms,
through the past and all the dread, the doubts that come
from racing with the wind who reveals only One…

see what He has done brighter than the sun…
He is the Son who clings to the souls of those who’ve known
the meaning of life, the meaning of joy, the meaning of love
lifted by prayers who fade beyond His healing words,
like a song, He never stops playing

as He seeks to save, eternally saving those who were lost,
amid the sins	darkest crimes, depravities, evils seen
by the distant peace, the forever belief…

as we weep for the weak, those who never leave
their wrongs, seeking the love that He’s shone
in the shadows of the sun, burning with grace
that comes from the One who is truly love
				love beyond words, beyond descriptions…

He is the truth that convicts and convinces
saving souls from the worst punishment,
eternity without the One who prevents us
from knowing what it means to live eternally
without the love that is the whole reason for living!

In the shadow of the Sun,
He shines so hearts are won,
by love that comes from One
			who saves to the uttermost,
assuring us of a love that is sure,

love that is eternally alive
inside the hearts who God decides
will live forever – by His side,
eternally praising, with love so amazing!

They carved their names upon the tree
So that forever they would be
Under the sky near the waterfalls flow
By the pond where the water lilies grow

But dark skies came to surround
She lifts her eyes heaven bound
Trying to find a way towards his guiding light
The flame that burned ever so bright

For him she cried, far into the night
dreams lost among those hills that night
In sadness the tears invade the soul
Damp eyes that continue to flow

A place where the sun refuses to shine
Lost in thought between space and time
Now on her own again by the waters edge
She remembers the words-- the pledge

I am yours and you are mine
Until the very end of time.
