Nothing Much

Lost in thought about nothing much
Memories that still touch
Songs play that I really don't hear
Somewhere falls a tear
From words spoken
The tear is just a token
Of promises broken
A rose murdered for its beauty
Plucked just to die
I sigh
Beauty wasted
Love tasted
Withered away
It didn't stay
Life makes
Life takes
Nothing will ever last
Days turn into the past
So fast
Lost in thought
Beauty I sought
Breath of air
Time didn't care
The beauty of age
The last Life stage
Slowly starts to fade from sight
So cold is the night
Holding on so tight
The beauty of the light
Fades away
As does the day
No more Time
End of life's rhyme
