It all went off without a hitch
To everyone’s relief,
With unity throughout the land
The overall motif.
The swearings-in both made me cry,
The tears a sweet release,
The opposite of those brought on
By rioters and police.
The musical performances
Did more than just uplift,
So powerful, each one was like
A sorely-needed gift.
And how about the poet?
Poised and passionate, a thrill
To hear someone so eloquent
And young, with so much skill.
At last, the speech we’d waited for –
He spoke of how his soul
Would help respect democracy
And make our nation whole.
The past four years have brought us down –
So many couldn’t cope,
But now today, I think we can
Allow ourselves to hope.
I would like to play cricket at an early age For playing it I needed a bat first
I asked my father to buy a bat and ball. But he resolutely refused to buy them.
I took a wood and went to the carpenter He didn't know about my dreaming bat He asked me to show the picture of a bat. I cut an image of a bat from a newspaper
The wood worker took two days to make a bat As it was very heavy I couldn't swing the bat Now I required some players to play. I approached my friends to play cricket
Most of them accepted to play the game We selected our school ground for playing Daily we went to the ground and played cricket. My father didn't like me to play it
One day I came extremely late to my house My father was very angry and shouted at me. Then he took the wooden bat and broke it My life long dream was shattered to pieces.
The following was based on an iconic picture of Mandy Rice-Davies by David Steen. Rice was infamous for being part of the 1963 Profumo political scandal.
The sun sets and so do inhibitions.
Rising even as darkness falls,
Vices murmur in cajoling tone;
Whispering of delights to behold;
Slinking and sliding like satin
Off a debutante's back,
Seemingly innocent,
As she gazes with baby blue wonder
Amidst fine white linen.
Wholly carnal expectations of the night
Play across lips that won't melt butter,
but can steam a man's thoughts,
and wring him dry with a breath.
Softest pink, slightly curved
They draw laser sharp focus
Of fantasies not fully formed.
The pose of an ingenue
Awaiting the brush strokes of Goya
to capture her pearlescence,
Or, perhaps, the lenses of Nemoy and Steen
(Or is it the lips of a lover?)
For a touch of immortality--
An angel from heaven
With a touch of the devil.
She is Temptation
Teasing with her bountiful fruits;
Coveting your visions.
She's every male fancy;
My passion's dark reality--
Captured.
There's a reason the fall of
Darkness is called Eve

Before a Lover a friend.
Before the trust, the laughter and comfortable period of not understanding.
Before the holding hands, and whispers in the quiet corners, the excitement of the ringing of the phone.
Before the glint of the moon or sunrise in loving eyes, the anticipation of the word hello.
The butterflies and joyous sensation of the first meal, this as a friend knowing lovers will be.
Shared together the time spent in our minds, words said and repeated still funny as if heard never said before.
The night-time wish, morning greeting makes each day as new and better than before.
Gifts given for no reason just to say your on my mind, the first kiss like a child on Christmas morning.
On crescent waves of joy we go, though rains may fall together we share the umbrella of our love.
From friend to lover we slowly move on, no rush for we took our time to know each other.

All day long earth flirted with the sullen atmosphere,
twirling her floral skirts, tossing her hair like Guinevere.
Her eyelids all aflutter, winking -- she is a dangerous coquette --
the air is close and heavy, all creation pants and sweats . . .
darkness falls. Tired of her teasing, earth turns her head to sleep,
but the atmosphere feels slighted, a storm of anger in him leaps,
his fascination kindled by the earth's seductive wiles.
In the blackness lightning flashes in a vivid, crooked smile.
He will never be mistreated by a flirtatious, foolish girl;
his thwarted passion heightens, a revolting, vicious swirl.
There is violence on the planet, the sky bows her head and weeps
as the thunder roars like cannons and thick winds, twistedly, sweep.
Daylight finds earth ravished, her floral skirts scattered, in shreds,
but the atmosphere has lightened; the guilty storm has fled.

I was having a beer at the bar then she walked in
It was more of a strut with the sway of her hips.
Her ruby red lips were made for kissing
In the mirror behind the bar
I caught her looking at me and raised my glass.
She waited a while before she sat beside me.
She ordered whiskey, neat
Smelled like lavender and honey and I'd bet money
she'd talk to me before I'd say a word to her.
I thought - 'which of us is using the best bait.'
I got a nibble when she asked what I was drinking.
I turned my head but all I said was, 'a cold one.'
Her great big gorgeous green eyes
would've caught me if I was a fish.
"Don't talk much, do you? Or maybe you have 'issues."
She questioned my "manhood."
I stood to adjust my pants and her eyes bit my fly.
I told her, "My eyes are up here."
She smiled as I reeled her in.
Perfection was never meant for her to own
It was a desire she couldn't leave alone
Not for ignorance, but for the idea of hope
It was her favourite kind of trope
It was a life that made her want to elope
That fantasy was her only way to cope
She wasn't a naive dreamer, that was a life she couldn't afford
She was realistic, she knew there was no reward
That for her reality could not be ignored
She learned that lesson from young
She needed an escape, a distraction
One that didn't involve a mirror and her reflection
One where life entrusted her with acceptance
One where she could hide from her blackness
I wish she knew it was never her fault, just the world's reaction
Maybe then her biggest enemy wouldn't have been her complexion
Her differences were minor, but the world made them bigger
Her skin, to them, a trigger
To shoot the word ''
A word that became a killer
She silenced herself to survive -
A world that wouldn't care if she died
A world that would laugh if she cried
A world that became a coward to her attempted suicide
Does the girl get a happy ending
Do they exist for girls like her
Will she ever find happiness
Or is that just a fantasy
She wishes she knew
She wishes she'd have a clue
The truth
Is for her everytime good happens, life steals it away
Everytime bad happens life let's it stay
She wonders if it is a sign
That maybe it's her time
She's realistic enough
To know the lies of happily ever after
But deep, deep down
She wishes life, for her, would be different
She is not healed
She is not broken
But she is both wound and scar
And that makes her human
Outside my window, early each morning,
musical note of a cuckoo calling,
Soft and sweet does her musical notes flow,
Early each morning, outside my window!
What ever the weather, come snow or rain,
I hear the divine melodious strain,
Perched on the tree, like a flute in feather,
Come snow or rain, what ever the weather!
Open the curtains, I let in the dawn,
She looks at me to wish me a good morn,
Brightens my day like a million lanterns,
I let in the dawn, open the curtains!
duty bound she is, like ordained by fate,
Could she be the soul of a long lost mate?
a childhood friend with a forgotten wish?
Like ordained by fate, duty bound she is!

I loved her, my heart, when heavy, she lifted it...
sending it floating like a feather in the still of day
But I hated her, when the moon was grey...
she could melt an iceberg...sideways
Besides, on Tuesday it will snow
And when the feather floated...
Johnny never came home again- "Hurrah, Hurrah"
I still do, I do, I do... I do
I............ "HATE" her song
I'll tell he, when I see her- Hurrah, Hurrah"
Yesterday- ...when was that?
Hmm, I know..." it was yesterday"
Besides, on Tuesday it will snow
I............ "LOVE her so MUCH"
I'll tell her...
"Hurrah, Hurrah"
Johnny............."Took My- MEDS"
Everything was bleak and gloomy and cold and full of fear
Fighting dark forces driving thoughts that I don’t belong here
Struggling with if my departure will help those I hold dear
Piercing my soul breaking inside I shed rivers of tears
Everything was crushing searching for one sliver of light
Struggling to find even a glimmer that would end this plight
Giving every single ounce of strength to press on and fight
Crying desperately dropping to my knees in the night
Everything became silent with a hushed awe in the air
Pulsating between calm and wonder all has become clear
Invading emotions of gentle love lay my heart bare
Rushing like a mighty wind the Son of God has come near
Everything changed as He drove all the vile darkness away
Breathing vibrant life into a hopeless heart full of grey
Remolding what was broken like a potter to the clay
Helping me to dance like it was spring on a winter's day
