And so he stood as shadows ran their course
across the fading words of failing life
fingering love’s beauty, eschewing strife
savoring the “better’s, tossing the “worsts”

for life had offered him both dark and light
to guide him through the lies of sainted knaves
cast him adrift to ride its breaking waves
on seas that wash ashore the moonless night.

Bereft of all the vestiges of man
alone within the emptiness of loss
his vision- an endless bridge to cross
unguided in the darkness of Light’s plan.

Love pained his clouded heart for it had lied
reneged on endless promises it made
left him a broken man nothing to trade
amid a thunderous turmoil it had died.

So does he harbor anger’s raging surf
its surging waves the lies of love’s deceit
denying him the solace of retreat
unable to reclaim love’s bloodied turf.

Roses and Lies

Roses and lies
I need your love
Not your troubles
I need you in not out
Too long I knew you lied
But I stayed hoping
Life is beautiful
I knew that before
You took my love away
And left my heart beating
Waiting and crying

Roses and lies
I gave you me
I traded your heart
For my love
Nothing more nothing less
So don't leave me so cold
Life is too short to cry
My intension is true
I need your love
Not your games of lies
So Give me back my roses
With true love

Roses and lies
Despite you look beautiful
Yet the ugliness of your heart
Makes me bleed
I wonder what more you need
Cos I don't want to be
Who am not
When you lie to me
Am a man with a true soul
Please give me back my roses
With true love
Cos truly am in love with you

Premium Member Let Me Show You

Winter drew near, its drifting wind calling,
the wind did not touch me, until she appeared.
I remember that nite, I felt I was falling,
memories met then, I feared they mirrored.
My words failed to explain my feelings inside,
and the past rushed forward to mist my eyes.
If she should ever dream, that I lied,
the pain would ever linger, never die.
I understand this woman, I believe in her song,
and nite after nite, I’m searching for mercy.
Yet cruel is the morning with its shadow so long,
that the answer I seek, is so close, it hurts me.
    Is she only lonely, occasionally,
or desires the warmth of a silken body?
Her hands are tight with fear, I fear,
oh how I wish I could hold her near!
Is it only by nite, in the lite of the moon,
can she release her words, or is she jejune?
I will sit again by the garden wall,
and patiently wait for her to call.

Premium Member Pollution

Acid has become our rain
and oceans with mercury do we stain
dioxin lies beneath our ground
in everything toxic materials be found

E-coli is used to alter genes in food
where recombinant DNA is understood
heavy metals do the population addle
as the health industry lose continuing battle

With the law makers do the inhabitants contend
and a wealthy man can the laws amend
documented information on man's pollution
yet nobody seems to have a solution

Programs that show if man were to die
nature herself would repurify
at 300 years would be the retaking
of only a portion of what mankind is making

Desecration upon desecration upon the land
mankind destroys himself with his own hand
no amount of law can change our ways
our own nature fallen since ancient of days

Scientists who study regeneration
pursue this path with great fascination
they know that the body should heal itself
but understand not sin and it's stealth

Deserts now stand where nature did blossom
the amount of the damage is beyond awesome
ground waters filled with pesticide
about it's effects have governments lied

Asbestos and arsenic and lead just a few
adversely affect the body nothing new
tons upon tons of toxins released to our air
and only for wealth do manufacturers care

Seabirds and mammals die from plastic trash
the production of garbage for making of cash
forest and savannahs are being depleted
in soil degradation are crops being seeded

With love for our earth the concerned have their say
but the pursuers of wealth do get their way
the destroyers of earth with God will clash
but this system of things will Jesus dash

Confidential

10/27/22

Not the best credentials
Yet so much potential
It's evidential
Not all of it is essential
Considering that much is still experimental
Remaining confidential
Seen in person or written in pencil

Still pouring
And exploring
My faith in humanity lost not restoring
Too much of it is boring
They are always ignoring
Or warring
As well as being rude and lording

Far from a haiku
Not always the sky blue
Too often lied to
This is quite true
I do
Have the bird's eye view
If I choose I'll slide through
Typical people being quite rude
During daylight and as night drew
Always acting like they have the right to
I don't like it, so I do the opposite in spite of you

I don't trust her
I remain a lone hunter
While below thunder
It's no wonder
Since others are often thrown under
Felt like a zero until I turned into a hero
She never once wanted my phone number
Meanwhile I did it like no other

When will it rest?
Toward each other they often pit against
It's a mess
All these tricks and wrecks
Causing more disconnect
At times I feel alien not like Gilgamesh
What a joke, always thinking they're still the best
Having ill intent
How dumb and sad that people got killed for less
To nil effect
So quit the trek of continual disrespect
I'm on a scientific quest
I could care less how these b****es dress

In the open or occurring secretly
The cycle is seemingly
Going on repeatedly

The Strange Tale of Turtle and Salt Woman

Turtle heard that Salt Woman was on the road again, and he was
wanting a taste of her. Some miles from Cochiti, he stopped
for directions at a Speedway gas station.
The dwarf who ran the garage could not speak, but Turtle
using the language of Sandhill cranes put a spell on him,
making him dance directions. The dwarf’s jerky movements
became more fluid as Turtle urged him to relate more of the
Salt Woman.

In these parts, Salt Woman had a rep. She traveled
with a wooden puppet that she called her grandson.
When she came to a pueblo she would ask for food for
the boy. Some villages offered her food from the communal
storehouse, and she would bless their store with her tears,
while her grandson grew green leaves on the top of his wooden
head, but in some pueblos the mayor would refuse to offer
anything. Salt women would then turn the children of the village
into chaparral jays.

Turtle figured that the garage dwarf was just a fool, but he knew
that a salty woman was worth finding, and so he drove on following
her trail. Sure enough he found her in a bar in the Acoma
settlement known as Sky City.

Her grandson was with her. Turtle took a good look at Salt Woman.
She was not young, her face was lined, but her hips were as round
as fat babies, her belly dimpled, rosy, and delectable. The wooden
child’s eyes opened wide as he watched Turtle walk up to the bar.
Turtle was looking fine in his rhinestone studded jeans, his tan ruby
fringed shirt and his white, eagle-feathered Stetson.

Ordering tequila, he turned to the woman.
"Will you give me one of your tears, mother"? He asked.
"I have a thirst that can only be cured by a greater thirst".
Salt Woman looked at Turtle:
"And what will you give me in return"?
"I will share my salt with you," turtle replied honestly.
"The same as any man then," she said with a curling lip.
"Yes mother, but my salt will make you younger,' turtle lied.
Turtle will promise anything for sex, in this he is no better
than most men.

Salt Woman laughed out loud, yet a teardrop of sadness fell into
Turtle’s tequila. In a flash Turtle drank it down, grabbed hold of
the boy transforming him to a crane, then he took Salt Woman
upstairs where they tasted their thirst – again and again.

Premium Member Jaded Love

Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, shame on me.
Fool me time and time again – I am stupidly in love.

They say the sign of a crazy man
Is someone who does the same thing over and over again,
Expecting a different result each time.
I am a crazy man.

The first time you broke my heart,
I nearly ended my life.
When I finally resolved to live again
You came knocking on my door asking for forgiveness.
I welcomed you with open arms – falling hard once again.

The second time – I swore it would never happen again.
I lied.

Upon each return you swore you had learned your lesson –
I proved I had not learned mine.

You come back to me broke – I make you whole again.
You come back to me drunk – I sober you up again.
You come back to me abused – I nurse you to good health again.
You come back to me in need – I drop everything to comply.

You only love me when your life is at rock bottom.
Once I help you to your feet – you use them to walk out on me again;
And, I am left a broken man.

I would love to say, “Never again”, but I know I am too weak.
The spell you hold over me is one I cannot resist.

I have ended other, more healthy relationships,
To once again jump on the carousel of your jaded love,
Only to have the ride come to an end and the fair leave town once again
With this little boy holding a handful of unused ride tickets:
No refunds – No rain dates – No sense at all.

I pray that you do not come back again.
The pain of you not being with me is less intense than the pain of you leaving again.
Please, allow me to suffer the lesser evil.

The Price of 'Progress', Part Ii

The words struck cold fear in my heart.
What was I to do? I didn’t know.
This was not supposed to happen,
so back to the doctor did I go,
and the words he told me there
were just another heavy blow:
Male puberty’s window had passed,
It was too late, he could not grow.

He’d never be a normal man,
but he no longer felt female,
and many nights I heard my son’s
low, mournful and piteous wail,
And my poor wife was in tears too,
convinced that somehow she had failed.
she’d go from sure she had done wrong,
to a lunatic who just railed.

Dan made it just a few more months,
then I walked in and found him dead
in his bedroom…he’d slit his wrists,
the very bed-sheets were stained red.
I just stood there, to stunned by it
to push any thoughts through my head,
but my wife saw and screamed her grief,
then right out of the house she fled.

I haven’t seen her since the day
of my beloved son’s suicide,
heard nothing of where she went,
if she’s still here, or if she’s died.
Even worse, I went online,
and found people who testified
that such an end was too common…
the doctors and ideologues lied.

Huge numbers of ‘trans’ people had
later renounced their ‘new-found’ sex,
many people grew out of it
before they had their body’s wrecked.
Forty to fifty-six percent
suicide rate, what the heck?
Why had they never mentioned this?
Why had they all tried to deflect?

If the world knew these problems lurked
why did they go and celebrate
something that went and killed people
at such a remarkable rate?
Did people want to ‘belong’ so much
they’d give cover to this awful fate?
Were the lives of their own loved ones
worth less then accusations of 'hate?'

Evil as these ‘omissions’ were
I knew something that made me cold.
I had left myself believe it all,
I had accepted what I was told.
I’d so believed my politics
that I had left myself be sold
on ideas known as pure bullsh-t
to any random three-year-old.

It’s my fault for allowing this,
this is something I must address,
I cannot live with this knowledge,
it has left me a broken mess.
Please, tell my parents they were right,
that common sense is usually best.
Ruined families and shattered lives
are the price we pay for ‘progress.’

…Bang.

Uruguay and I'm a Gwirl

Uruguay and I’m a Gwirl

I want you to love me, I want you to care.
I want you to promise you’ll always be there.
I’m a man willing to fight for love.
Battlefield is strewn with former hugs.
I’m the one whose name is on all your puns.
Biggest joke in town for sure.

I’m the boy, the Peter Pan head on.
Never grew to like attempts at fun.
I’m the soul never united, moon and sun.
Feel myself coming undone.

I never claimed to be your saving grace.
I never claimed that I mattered.
I never said I’d put a smile on your face.
I’m merely mortal wrapped in matter.

No energy to fight for peace.
No more silent protests at your door.
Nothing left in me worth fighting for.
Never had a choice of either, or.

I sold myself to any heart that lied.
Every one hurts every time.
I sold my soul just to be by your side.
You only ever made me die.

Premium Member The Upscale Party

I was invited to a party in an upscale place,
the first thing I knocked over was a fancy vase;
feeling too clumsy I was looking for the way out,
when I smashed an expensive lamp with a shout !

Everything went silent and all eyes were on me,
as a lovely translucent lampshade rolled in the debris;
staff quickly ran to remove all traces of the scene,
I stood staring and soon all was tidy and clean !

My date said you better come and sit down,
while I was thinking that soon-  I will be having a meltdown;
then, a lady with a big nose said are you the girl who writes,
those sad poems, oh, why not write of life's delights !

I wanted to answer her but she kept talking,
so depressing, mind you, your writing I am not knocking;
as she went on and on each word left a wound and a bruise,
the hurtful insults even left marks on my beloved muse !

I stood up suddenly and excused myself too quickly,
because at this point I was indeed feeling sickly;
finding my date and I made an excuse quite convincing,
I lied to him, of course, definitely, positively wincing !

I could not get away from that party, that place fast enough,
on the verge of tears-  oh, why am I not more tough;
but an inner voice was speaking ... write what's in your soul,
and just leave the nasty people to their rude rigmarole !
