Family Hike

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A new path yet of a familiar kind -
Like many other pathways in its wake,
Dad, look for markers that fill up your mind -
hints of how to return without mistake.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

With care, watch out for snakes and noxious weeds

while engaging this resourceful treasure.
Mom, teach your child to know the plants and seeds,

to show gentle respect for each creature.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Walk this path with care for discovery;
use your sense of smell with your ears and eyes.
Child, stockpile your mind for recovery;
find out what secrets this fresh trail supplies.
Premium Member The Wounded Soul
The cut bashed from a hike in the woods , and the roll down the
Hill and the wound  if not washed and dressed with the proper
ointment will fester and have a malodorous odor. The wounded
hiker should as duty calls rush home, head to the closet , seize
the first aide kit, and wash the laceration conventionally as a
nurse would. And apply ointments and gauze to avoid problems.
But left untreated one part of our anatomy is unseen and forever
hidden of the prying eyes of X-rays, ultrasounds and surgeons on
operating tables or exam rooms. Its even hidden from the one
whose body it was given to before all ages. And we know this
because the Holy Spirit has given us our soul to enrich and
enliven us. I can talk to my soul by telling him I love him and
listen for responses and welcoming guidance.
What can I do to my soul after years of wounding. Addiction,
sexual exploitation, lack of nourishment of prayer to God,
neglectful  adoration of God and degradation of my soul left
alone imprisoned through indignity after indignity until the wound
festers and my very being lingers on the verge. No ointment or
gauze or bandage may be of service to the substance of my
being. Alone the body moves as the soul watches a silent
tear ,gradually, and slowly gushes out of the heart of mine own
eye as he lingers crying.
Those lasting words pour through my lobes as with each gasp,
reaching further inside of me for something hidden, I see a
shadowed face tear struck and wanting, reaches and pulls me
forward.
at the footbridge, I stand musing at my discovery-
I began my country hike early in the morning
        oh what a find-  this old mossy stone bridge
and under, a gentle forest creek silently flows on
    it is such a lovely scene
       I want to linger and dream
         where hidden birds are singing
            perhaps take out pen and paper
the ground is covered with tiny wildflowers
and mighty trees droop giving shade as I rest
     then-  I step on the stone bridge
        to slowly meander to the other side.
Disappearing In a World of Fun
Everyone was so excited
When they always get invited
To parties, dinners and much more
Better than the one before
Hanging with friends new and old
While I was left in the cold
Never being asked to join
Being left alone again
Invisible and disappearing
From the fun others are sharing
Shy and quiet, small and meek
I was playing hide and seek
But no one ever seemed to find me
Happy days were left behind me
No one had a single clue
I was so alone and blue
So I stayed in my sad place
With no smile on my face
And no friendly sweet enjoyment
Like my world took a deployment
All my good times took a hike
Never being loved or liked
So I live all by myself
My emotions on a shelf
Is life an ever fight of yang and ying ?
a path of desire and aversion
of love, lust, passion and of repulsion
and do we have to choose with everything ?
I wish that want and craving could just cling.
When faced with disgust I seek conversion,
hate sends me on a silent excursion.
Can the way be_  let go of things that sting ?
Desire, loath, crave, dread, devotion, dislike
when ugly turmoil roars I take a hike,
and when rapture whispers my soul will purr _
In my life garden only flowers grow,
I breathe a breath, relax and take life slow
and all hostility fades to a blur.
This is a story, I'm not fond to recall
One decade ago, when my daughter was small
She was too young for Girl Scouts,..so instead, joined a troop
Of young "Brownie" fledglings...there were ten in her group
They needed a leader, ...so I stepped up in command !
Like a proud mother soldier, I would lend them a hand !!
They would come to our house, and we'd do arts and crafts
I'd serve milk and cookies, as each afternoon passed...
Part of my plan, so they'd be fit and strong...
Was to learn about nature...but things went sooo wrong!!
We had gone for a hike...to wander the woods...
Finding interesting leaves, and whatever we could..
They ran a few races.  We played hide-and-seek
A few roasted hot dogs, near the rush of a creek
By late afternoon,....we called it a day
I gathered the girls....and to my terrible dismay!!.....
The girls had been hiding, in red poison oak!!
What a dummy I was......and that is NO JOKE !!
When I took the girls home....expecting insults....
The parents were kind.   But here are results.....
From ten little girls....there were rashes on nine...
We emptied the drug stores of all Calomine!!!
           Because of that day,  I lost my good name....
           But  I did earn a badge, in the new hall of shame
Match like for like with feel good moves,
Obey the good vibrations here;
Reach a grand hike that floods sure grooves,
Echo good moods where joy firms cheer.
Glimpse a great show where grandeur spreads,
Open your heart to sweet delight;
Offer to grow splendour most great,
Do act sure art in fond insight.
Fortune knows best just how to sum,
Embrace the sounds of happy joy;
Expect grand fest to prime outcome,
Lovely the grounds where health enjoys.
Indulge the good feelings that surge,
Note fond plenty that comes forth here;
Give steady moods beauty to merge,
Success you see brings joy and cheer.
Gain more and more as feelings flood,
Allow fond feel to create more;
Invite much more in surge of blood,
Nurture more fill to spawn and spore.
I'D Do Anything: Losing the Race
I'd do anything...for you
I'd sacrifice my life...for you
I could hike Mount Everest...for you
I'd feed off of your despondency...for you
I'd walk on hot coals...for you
I'd do the impossible...for you
It's true...
I'm positively sure that
I love you...
I'd give up my life...for you
Still, you don't have a clue?
Sorry for giving up right in front of you...
Oh! you're always on my mind
In my everyday thoughts...
I can't stop thinking about you...
you give me hope in mind
Even when you're far away from me
But, I still need you to stay positive...
Thank God you have a kind heart to forgive
The things I didn't mean to say
Why do things not go my own way?
I'd do anything...for you
I'd sacrifice my life...for you
I could hike Mount Everest...for you
I'd restore your entire life...for you
I'd walk on hot coals...for you
I'd do the impossible...for you
It's true...
I'm positively sure that
I love you...
I'd give up my life...for you
You still don't have a clue,
Do you?
Abide in the light...reach to a divine height
Stay with me just for this night
You're my lamp, shedding delight
Stay with me - you're a dazzling sight
Push aside the callous...heartless night
I witness the tears streaming down your face
I'm frantically wiping them away...I'm sorry for losing the race
I'm sorry...for everything I've done...
