When dawns my life’s new dawn

If countless waves roar in ocean of life,
Each therein born that lives, sinks unto it,
Whose bond with the rest but for flash is rife
Whilst that with ocean for lifelong is lit--
A truth, so clear and still so hard to see,
And so am I the part of Supreme Soul…
Two birds of feather dwelling on a tree,
So close and still apart-- a part and whole,
One pecking at sweet and sour karmic fruits,
A pendulum as if swinging for good,
From joy to grief were I to know no roots
With my twain O to brood in solitude
Until one day this delusion hast gone
And with it dawns from dark my life’s new dawn.

Cerebral Palsy

 Beautiful people with scars
Scars that stay, Scars that fade, Scars that scare
Delay as they develop, Develop as they delay
Stars hidden in clouds, rays shinning by faith

Wonderful beauties unveiled
Might sit, might not, might delay
Might walk, might not, might delay
Might see, might not, might delay

Virtuous full of valor
Seeming stiffy, looking floppy
Weak arms, weak legs, clumsy movements
fidgety motions, jerky styles

Carriers of greatness
Uncontrolled movements, Scary seizures
Walking on tip-toes, riding in wheels
Waiting on cells, training muscles

Victorious people
Struggling to Swallow, difficult to Speak
Hard to see, difficult in Learning
Pitied by many, helped by few

Faith heals, hope transforms
Love cheers, Care advances
Beautiful people, strong individuals
Celebral Palsy is no disability

Who Killed the Easter Bunny

It’s time, its here, it’s that time of year
Time for chocolate eggs and a bunny
But look deeper in and ask, is it a sin?
For many do trivialise with a hat that is funny.

The deeper meaning behind, is getting harder to find
Why chocalte eggs are given and eaten just now.
Is there a glut of them? Is there a chocolate laying hen?
Or a chocolate factory that's owning a cow.

Is there a golden rabbit? Did somebody bag it?
This is one thing I do not know.
But what it means to me, is not hard to see
The size of the egg or the rabbit is for show.

As I don't like chocolate bunnies or eggs
I am out to rescue the bunny, hen and cow
But what to do when the rescue is through
I will put on my thinking cap just now

When they are free You can leave it to me
I will find something new to do with them.
As for Easter this year, you need have no fear
The animals will soon all be free

To stop them being abused
 And to keep me amused
No clue to the killer of the Easter bunny….
                                                    it’s me.

Playing God

wake up every morning
stifling a yawn
first breath should be a warning
not giving it much thought
it's in the beast of nature
not wanting to be caught
forgetting whose the maker
as we start playing god

as the day progresses
accepting this our lot
making more than messes
out of everything we've got
never learning lessons
from the battles we have fought
someone should have kept us
all from playing god

now i lay me down to sleep
all prayerfully in song
pray the Lord my soul to keep
first time today we've given thought
at times it's hard to see
or even think about
when daily we are busy
out there playing god

Friendship

Real friends wanna see you win and be the best that you can be,

Encourage you to chase your dreams and motivate you to succeed,

Never tell you what you want to hear but only what you need,

Real friends be your eyes when you find it hard to see,

Through the fog in this life real friends will take the lead,

Just to guide you to the light when it's dark and hard to breathe,

Real friends feel your pain and you don't even have to speak,

Real friends be your strength when your inner self is weak,

Love is rare when it's pure and I'm not sure if it exist,

Cause it's way beyond the physical but simple as a kiss,

Or a hug cause a friend only wants to offer peace,

To your spirit and your soul making sure you feel complete,

Never judge understanding is a rarely traveled street,

Real friends let you know that you are a part of me,

Walking down this rocky road but you traveling with me,

And if you hungry know I got you let's go get a bite to eat.

Premium Member Don'T Grow Old, Daddy

How could you get old, Daddy?
That's not supposed to happen
I'm your little girl
I can't see the stooped shoulders
I can't see the ravages of time, Daddy
Please don't get old

You were larger than life to me
Your word was gospel truth
I'd sit on your lap and fall to sleep
Knowing I was safe and sound
I'd play with your hair
and hear you sing
With that rich mellow voice
You were my comfort and strength, Daddy
Don't get old
Please!

I saw you take care of Mom
All those many years
Bathing
Changing
Brushing her hair
Cooking for us kids
Daddy...
It was so hard to see her go from bad to worse
I knew she was going to die
You were the love birds...
Why did she have to die?
It's been fifteen years, Daddy

I've already lost one parent....
I can't even begin to think....
No, don't get old, Daddy
Don't....leave me
I love you!!!
I understood the love of God
Because of your love, Daddy

Please, don't get old

My dad is visiting me from Cyprus. Ever time he comes to visit, I see a change in him. He'll turn 79 on March 12. he is in great health, but...I can't bear the thought of a time when....I can't bear the thought. May God keep him for me for longer....My father is an educator and pastor. He has his doctorate degree in Education and his MA in theology. He is my rock. I adore the man. He also is an author, and Yes, he writes poetry. Maybe later I'll post a poem he wrote about my birth! :)

Premium Member I Am An Owl

I hunt my prey, late dusk or night
With wings so quiet in my flight
It's hard to see me up in trees
Since I am camouflaged with ease

My ears are placed in such a way
I hear most sounds from far away
My beak is hooked- made sharp to tear
But feathers cover it like hair

My eyes are large on my flat face
They do not move, stay firm in place
To see, I turn my head with ease
     Two hundred seventy degrees

I hoot, hiss, scream, and most times, screech
To find a mate within my reach
Or let my competition know
This is my space, and they must go

In trees, await the choicest prey
Small mammals, birds, that come my way
Some days, on insects, I may dine
A fish from a small pond is fine

My talons are like raptor claws
When prey appears, without a pause
I quickly fly from tree to ground
And clench the bird or mouse I've found

My prey I often swallow whole
     Complete digestion is my goal
Whatever I cannot digest
Comes up as pellets I express

And something you may think is cruel
When raising owlets, it's the rule
To feed the best and largest first
And so the weakest ones are cursed

A cannibal I can be too
Eat smaller owls that I pursue
I never feel the slightest guilt;
This is the way that I was built

Of owls, there are two hundred kinds
We've been around since ancient times
From small to large, with raptor claws
I think I came from dinosaurs.

13 OVER SIXTY

I've reached the age of sixty, and most things are slowing down
wild parties are a memory, and so is painting up the town
these days we tend to settle on a simple meal for two
with a nice refreshing glass of wine, to see the evening through

we spent the weekends going out driving, which helped me to unwind
it gave us both a break, from life's daily grind
we'd often stop to take a look at a tranquil country scene
back home we used to reminisce, about the places we had been

but my husbands health is failing, he just doesn't seem the same
he's had a lot of major issues, all of which he overcame
his mind it seems to wander, it's like sometimes he's not here
but thinking how he used to be, I often shed a tear

it was hard to see my husband look so small and oh so frail
I still wanted to picture him, as that tall strong handsome male
but no matter what the outcome, my love for him stays strong
I'll always be right here for you, no matter for how long

but yet again our lives would change, in a truly shocking way
I'd had a simple routine check-up on what was a normal day
your results will take a fortnight, come back to get the answer
it was then that they informed me, you have now developed cancer.

Premium Member Adventitious Life of a Wallowing Man and All That Surrounds Him-

See the wallowing of the man,
I think he's angry at the madman.
He finds it hard to see the girlfriend,
Shadowed over by the crazed gable end.
Who is that waddling near the dog?
In the park, by the pond I think he'd like to eat the frog.
She is but a perfect girl,
Admired as she sits upon a water’s curl.
She's not alone she brings a kitten,
a pet goldfish, and lots of Battle of Britain.
The goldfish likes to lick salt,
Especially one that's in the Pinault.
The man shudders at the nocturnal cheese
He want to leave but she wants the overseas.
This is the ADVENTITIOUS LIFE OF A WALLOWING MAN AND ALL THAT SURROUNDS HIM-

More Manners Please

Politeness, respect, courtesy
Is something that's so hard to see
When no one takes the time to learn
Theres so much that we can earn
If people would just agree
Its not always about ME

Pay it forward, chain of love
Should fit us all just like a glove
To think of others before you
Is something that we all should do

A friend or stranger can not cope
We can light them up with hope
Listening and taking time
To find out what's been on their mind

Someone who is down or blue
Could use a nice flower or two
Making their day a little brighter
And their troubles so much lighter

Visiting a child who is sick
Will help to make them better quick
From a present you might bring
Or a song you softly sing

A shut in who can not go out
Should know what caring's all about
By bringing them some food to share
Or calming some of their worst fears

A hurting soldier full of pain
Nightmares making him insane
Needs a caring hand to hold
As stories of his life unfold

A stranger can become a friend
Or our savior in the end
If manners showed up more each day
Troubles would just fade away
