after “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening”, by Robert Frost
This bridge meant something in some war,
some yarn of man and God and law:
but I think more of her and me:
what were those others fighting for?
There’s so much here to feel and see,
and yet it’s rubbernecker-free!
I love to watch the fishes jump:
they sense the serendipity!
Lads do the love, dames do the dump.
I can’t imagine now the crump
of primitive artillery,
but I remember Forrest Gump!
The theater, ideally,
was dark and deep: and, as for me,
I’ll linger in the reverie …
I’ll linger in the reverie.
I’m running over other ones to mine.
My thoughts my father taught. How black to white
is harvest to wheat. How an out of line
woman is kept. How I should act polite
in their company kept. Dad bought a beater
for me at seventeen. He’s never wrong.
I love this truck more than life. I teeter
with what makes it run. Keeps it going strong
for what I play with friends on dusty roads
on a dry summer day here in Greenbow.
We shoot our pellet guns at horny toads.
We chase the retard ‘round – all just to show.
See what happens when born to be different?
He’s running now. Far. Further, you’re present.

Character Role: The unnamed driver of the truck that chased Forrest Gump out of his iron clad legs into the future. He had no lines in the movie with which to explain why he did.
Our prez is now Donald J Trump
Who has promised to clean out the sump
Well he's certainly no wussy
When groping a pussy
What more to expect from a gump?
In charge of the Vice, Michael Pence
Said some things that embrace little sense,
"Global warming's a myth"
But's now taking the fifth
In attempting to straddle the fence
We all recall general Flynn
Put in charge of security spin
A trained atomiser
No more Trump's advisor -
His deal with the devil's his sin
The billionaire Betsy Devos
Making plans for a school albatross
Hating free education
Backs private castration
And kids will be bearing her Cross.
The Congress approved Jeff B. Sessions
Ignoring his racist obsessions
He seemingly cares
More for foreign affairs
While forgiving Klan's toxic transgressions.
Chief strategist Stephen K. Bannon
Develops the Great Again Canon:
The Goldman Sachs Bankster
Turned yellow rag gangster
Flings crap from the New Order cannon
Says EPA ruler Scott Pruitt
"Instead of dry facts, we intuit..."
(His work as denier
Keeps profits much higher)
"... If everything dies, well, just screw it"
The war whoops of Mad Doggy Mattis
Awaken the death apparatus
With boundless expense
For a doomsday defence -
Armageddon administered gratis
The magnates no longer need lobby
Or fight regulations thought snobby -
Now set in the saddle
They're herding the cattle
And pulling the strings as a hobby
Now the Don can start wielding the axes
Truncating the tariffs and taxes
The Mafia boss
Is dismissing the dross
And poverty's pain as it waxes
TURK TATIL MIZAH
FOREST GUMP
Did you hear about old Forest Gump
Went up to do a parachute jump
Gave the rip cord a jerk
Found out it didn't work
Hit the ground with one hell of a thump...
JED
In the care home was an old boy called Jed
Always given some blue pills with his med
And every night
He didn't excite
But it stopped him from falling out of bed...
THE BAKER
There was a baker from Hemel Hempstead
His loaves were the best you've ever tasted
But what people didn't know
LSD was in the dough
After eating his bread they'd be wasted...
PETE
A meat factory owner called Pete
Won gold awards for his sausage meat
But his meat supply
And this is no lie
Was of meat from stray dogs off the street...
SANTA ( NOT FOR KIDS )
Santa Claus was out preparing his sled
Whilst all children were tucked up in bed
Put some presents at the back
Had a fatal heart attack
The elves rushed out but poor Santa was dead ...
THE SWIMMER
A young man went for a swim in the sea
Smelt a bad smell wondered what can it be
A woman shouted swim back
The sewer pipe has a crack
He then realised he was swimming in pee...
JOHN
John was heading off to hot sunny Spain
When he landed saw snow falling and rain
Went through immigration
Hit with realisation
At the airport he'd boarded the wrong plane...
SUZE
She was born in the city of Syracuse
Was a stripper with the stage name of Suze
Was ginormous on top
That made all men's jaws drop
For private shows she's the one men would choose...
FRED
Fred went out for a curry vindaloo
All okay till he bent down to his shoe
A sharp pain then some gas
He was sure it would pass
Too late, he never made it to the loo...

'Twas an emotional movie portraying the saga of a loveable chump.
'Twas about a hapless lad by the curious name of Forrest Gump!
He overcame handicaps that from birth were to be his plight,
And it seemed that everything he did, eventually turned out right!
He acted bravely when he saved the life of Lieutenant Dan.
From that point, a lifetime of devotion and friendship began!
Naive though he was, somehow Forrest always achieved,
Notable, of course, was the Medal of Honor he received!
Alas, he was wounded in a somewhat delicate place!
But he accepted this and other reverses with amazing grace!
When Forrest became wealthy from his shrimp boat enterprise,
He gave Bubba's Momma a generous check, much to her surprise!
His life turned out pretty well, after all was said and done.
He married his first love, Jenny, who gave him a little son!
He'd heard an axiom his Momma taught since he lay in a bassinette:
"Life is like a box of chocolates - you never know what you'll get!"
Gump's role was handled masterfully by Tom Hanks of movie fame,
And it heaped upon his brow well-deserved honors and acclaim!
Mister Hanks will be long remembered for his remarkable role,
And the attributes of the indomitable American spirit it did extol!

The Media Presentation
By Franklin Price
10/13/2016
The media presentation of the Clinton and the Trump
Has her as Wonder Woman and he as Forest Gump
Campaigning mostly negative, Republican and Democrat
Media often taking sides when going to the mat
Trump, for sure, takes most the hits, for media the truth
Is spun with parts omitted to affect the voting booth
Clinton's hit's are different, a Republican dirty ploy
To keep the rightful candidate from her presidential joy
Both treated women badly, Trump uncouth and Clinton Worse
Trump speaking without thinking, Clinton planned derogatory verse
The media presents the Donald as the thoughtless stupid one
As Hillary stood by her man; degrading women for his fun
Trump speaks everything he thinks, for the media never good.
Clinton with private servers did not disclose the things she should.
The FBI said she's okay, if another maybe not
The media went along with that; there's something rotten in the pot
Trump politically a novice, wants America great again
Didn't come from the establishment paid his on way to begin
Clinton's political experience for thirty years or more
Financed from rich most everywhere, to pay back when in the door
Hillary's presidential if you're rich and gave a bit
Or if you are establishment, vote Clinton, she is it.
Trump's not diplomatic and concerns me quite a lot
If Hillary's elected, we'll have more years of what we've got
In either case are checks and balances founding fathers to begin
Wrote in the Constitution to never let dictators win
Of course that means incumbents must do all they're supposed to do
Do we think we can expect that from the establishment we view?
I was led to believe that Forrest Gump created the original Smiley Face!
But in an instant framed in time The Master Artist in His insurmountable grace,
Has awed us with three of the most graceful creatures in His employ,
To portray a masterpiece created by only Him for we mere mortals to enjoy!
This lovely chef-d'oeuvre also shows that He has a sense of humor too.
I like to think that He created it for a very special person - mainly you!
May I propose a toast to you, Dear Carolyn, on this your special day:
"May His face ever smile on you and bring you joy in every way!"

Valentine rhapsody spins in a box of delectable chocolates
Melting in sweetheart’s love dreams, keeping romanticism alive.
Delicate heartfelt mission. Delivered on an angel’s prayer.
Vulnerability waltzing in glorious amounts of faux confidence.
Sensuality imagined by a shy reticent man, who imagined
She was his dream woman. She was surprised, having no idea
And never really noticing him for he was a blue collar after all.
The chocolates were a great start and she soon discovered
Blue collars are exactly her type. By then, he was pushing away
For his fantasy woman was nothing like the woman inside the package
So now he was the one being pursued, and she was the pursuer.
Life really is like a box of chocolates, Forrest Gump pun intended.
