Spring
What does spring mean to me?
the shedding of winter’s coats.
Scarves and obnoxious hats
Freedom, to breathe god’s air.
New life; new-born lambs gambolling along,
nuzzle mums' milk
The smell of freshness from open windows
in the fields, the cows, sheep and
horses frolic in grass covered in the dew of the morning
chewing on the sweetness
Trees and hedgerows their branches,
once desolate and bare; now
sprout sturdy, spurts of greenery
pink blossom covers the leafy may tree
while lambkins hang; a delight to see
primroses open their petals out high,
daffodils and tulips reach up to the sky
wild roses bringing an early bloom
telling us Summer will be here soon
a flurry of birds tweeting their songs in harmony
gather together to greet each other
each different.
sparrows, blue ****, blackbirds’ robins maybe?
their feathers outstretched as they catch the current
that sends them soaring over the skies;
to join others, for a game of hide and seek,
so, it seems, such a delight to see and hear
their happy merry-making, with an
occasional squabble and flapping of wings
whilst parents hunt for twigs and foliage to make their nests
as they prepare for their babies to hatch,
in leaves unearthed for tasty treats and crumbs hedge-hogs;
tired and sleepy; gently snuffle their snouts
seeking titbits all round about
the north wind and it’s non-to-gentle whoosh;
dries mum’s washing
flapping a cheery wave on the line
in the bright spring sunshine
children run free and wild in the yard
after winter's confinement inside.
Of all the seasons, I love the best, is
Spring, new life, a new beginning
For all and mankind.
The sun was high in the sky, so hot, so unbearable
as the heat bares down, making life, unlivable.
A walk in the woods amongst the trees
tall waving branches makes a cooling breeze
Mystical noises erode from above
like squawking parrots, making love
The leaves flutter to earth slowly at leisure,
drying to a crunch making walking a pleasure.
Your never alone as you walk these woods,
ghosts of yesteryears would show if they could.
Instead they guide you along the paths of delight
your face lighting up as you see the sight.
Of butterflies gathered a hundred or more,
wings gently beating cooling their core.
Making a myriad of colour to please the soul
They are the flowers of the forest making you whole
The birds with their splendrous songs of life.
Not always in key their sounds easing your strife
Dont forget the tiny dormouse under the trees
looking for nuts and seeds, hunger to ease.
Find a grass covered mound, sit down ease your feet,
Close your eyes, listen to life from the drivers seat.
Your body is the forest, birds your ears, a tumultuous sound
Your eyes are the butterflies, life, the leaves falling around.
Thinking of these things help keeps your life in control
When life is hard, look within, look to your soul.
Take a walk in the Woods.

Beyond the mountains more steep and precipitous then canyon of Bryce
And sometimes in those mountains are glaciers of ice
In lower parts snakes with eyes like points of a dice
Step on one and with your life you will pay the price
There eight willows stand among grass covered heights
Their subtle amber colored leaves and smell carried by a breeze senses excites
In between them huge spider web dendrites
On it silver visage of the moon shines on with its eerie blue lights
Spider web similar to the one that in castle of Alhambra is made
But this one is made of actual spider silk and with innumerable forms it will cascade
It cannot be cut with a blade
And dew like honey will shine in sun’s light rays before the sun will fade
Then again this dew will glow in with eerie silver hue and emit strange tune
As it basks in the uncanny light of full moon
The web itself will oscillate in gentle breeze of June
It is so complex it resembles a cocoon
The web represents nonlinearity of destiny
And it is by it formed neural flame and its point of breakage of boundary
The spider web represents this with mastery and mystery
Defining its beauty made by spiders foundry
The web as a whole
Can help if discovering something new is your goal
It transcends into abyss so it stands proud and tall
But it is only one underlining aspect of a soul
He never loved her and yet her breath of life is gone she laid there yes he kissed her yet he still had his life but yet put asunder he did wonder Could have been different can he have not been put to shame yet he didn't even know her spiritual name
She is still not breathing yet she lays there covered in her Daddy's dress this man yet still stands he sheds a tear he believes in her but yet she lays there at rest
Due somber times yet in summertime he awakens in the heat he looks around him and he finds that the soles of his feet grass covered grounds he realizes now she's below but that's not her true essence for her Spirit Soul has risen and now in the presents of the Lord
She was only known to him let it be who's him yet through pain and grief he sighs he cries he says goodbye to the one who took on his name
Yet lastly is it truly over because his breath is still his he can't even remember the last time he felt her breath caressing surrounding him so he endeavors do not remember her sweet message but this is my message to the widowers you must confess this God has taken his daughter back and she's awake in his arms not asleep nor at rest she is with her father now for eternity and she leaves with you God bless

Meadows are rich with green grass, little wild flowers softly sway,
On a very small wind drifting gently past on this late summer’s day,
You know I walked these very same fields both as a man and boy,
Even after many years it still catches me startled
its beauty, still fills me with joy.
When looking hard there’s a boy running swiftly over a grass covered glade,
Remember it well, like it was yesterday, just like watching a film being made,
Jumping grey logs, fallen fences and dodging holes, minding rusty barbed wire,
Out of breath going up hills, slowing down to my catch my breath
stopping and looking as I got higher.
Then off again running with the wind in my hair running as fast as I could,
Back down the hill over the other side, down grassy banks and into a wood,
Wish I could do that now, maybe I can but only in an old mans wildest dream,
Arms stretched out like a soaring bird then my pumps kicked off
when I got to the stream.
Dipping my hot feet in a clear cool stream, splashing water on my hair,
Time’s passed so fast, I don’t know, it’s just gone anyway, it’s not there,
Seems one minute you have all the time in all the world and then one day
I just turned around for a few precious seconds and it’s all used up,
and it’s all gone away.
Embarking on this dreamer's vessel
to find an Elysium never discovered by Man,
and as adventurous as Columbus was:
enamored with the passion of discovery,
I will find,by error,what other thought was an impossibility;
and without that elusive feeling, I'll sail
to the imaginary shore of Paradise,
to admire the emblazoned sunset...
Enacting drama, when thoughts confound,
will help keep my sanity constantly afloat...
and relying on my empiricism, as many have,
is a sure sign of the elements I will confront;
gifts of exquisite beauty I'll bring back
to elevate the saddened soul of the impatient, distrusting empress:
hoping she will show empathy, not bitterness!
Wind, pick up your currents and make my sails continuously flap!
Elysium, be reachable and embrace my cause...
not to let me despair any longer and die like amber,
exalt my vibrant spirit to emancipate these doubts and fears;
how will an hopeless captain affirm his convictions
when his affidavit becomes void and null?
Elysium, I rely on your generosity and friendly gesture,
to hasten my arrival on your grass-covered soil,
and should rain fall, I'll rinse myself in your pure waters!

While the Ancestors worshipped
they shot them one and all.
They thought they had stopped the dance
as they watched the Old Ones fall.
But what they did not know
is that we do not die...
Their bullets set us free
and sent our souls to fly.
High above this shadow plain
where the spirit beasts do roam;
We roost upon their sacred backs,
and the Buffalo carry us home.
We dance for our lives
for the secrets of the Earth.
We dance while they kill us
and through death find rebirth.
We dance night and day,
to the drums thundering low.
Singing medicine songs
to honor the Buffalo.
Though we may not rise today
The People will not die;
As long as we keep dancing,
the Ghosts...You...and I.
We dance for the things for which we yearn;
Grass covered plains, the Buffalo’s return.
The fever of freedom forever will burn,
While we’re dancing with the ghosts.
For there is no time frame on prophesy,
This is the Vision Great One gave to me,
The Heart of The People will always be,
Dancing with the Ghosts...

gray day
gray velvet
velvet pillows
velvet cheeks
cheeks flushed
cheeks pale white
white as snow
white as paper
paper cranes
paper boats
boats which sail ponds
boats reflected
reflected from clouds forms
forms made by children
forms diminutive
diminutive fingers
diminutive toes
toes cool in the water
toes nibbled
nibbled peanut butter sandwiches
nibbled blueberries
blueberry skies
blueberry tongues
tongues of storm
tongues of rain
rain on the lashes
rain on the grass
grass covered in droplets
grass Kelly green
green luscious in low light
green wet and clean
clean as the storm crossed day
clean as an oragami lily
lily of the valley
lily sweet the day
day of cool quietude
day subtle and warm
warm as hot caramel
warm as your arms
arms strong
arms engulfing
engulfing the sky and earth
engulfing the passive scene
scene full of storm clouds now
scene of umbrella laughter
laughter of children pink-cheeked
laughter in sapphire eyes
eyes mischievous

Late afternoon sunshine streaming
Through the swaying green net
Of this years growth of hedge
I’ve not got round to cutting yet.
Got to get my finger out
Because I know it’s best
To get it done and dusted
Before the birds start to nest.
The grass has had its first trim
It’s looking lush and green
The garden’s starting to look
The best that it’s ever been.
Last year I sunk a small pond
At the sheltered edge of the lawn
With a bit of luck this year
We’ll have plenty of frog spawn.
There’s a Dove in the tree
And it’s gently cooing away
I can hear voices of children
Squabbling as they play.
Hard frost this morning
An almost magical sight
Seeing the grass covered
With a coat of gleaming white.
This is semi rural Yorkshire
As afternoon slips into night
On an early spring day when
Everything has been just right.
You can wander the world
Always searching for more
I’ll stay and enjoy the beauty
Found outside my back door.
