Summer Has Gone

Summer Has Gone The green grass covered wet like tears from autumns sky, the red orange and amber brown golden leaves fall gently from the trees, to be moved on the wind like that of a mothers breath who wishes her baby gentle sleep. No clouds above to be seen, just the movements of birds heading to new places filled with the heat of a warm loving sun, while darkness covers this land so early leaving nothing to be seen. Summer has left to be replaced with the coldness of empty and broken hearts, promises not kept just the hurt, the creeping of a winter that now fills lonely dreams. Soon a blanket of white crisp snow covers this land, that once was filled with joyous sound across rolling valleys up and down hills near and far. Oh, how cruel is the time, it's veil pulled tightly close, a blanket of memories left behind; the only thing of a summer now gone. By Patrick D
