all relationships get scaring at a curve or a bend
wasn't expecting a scaring curve now
at least not now when she will be away
i listened attentively 2 a frightening narration 4m her
it was that of an opponent that has been in existence
the fella lost out in the race for her heart before
he was a joshua that won't allow a moses to rule
nor a stephen whether stoned or un-stoned
though the story was classified, it was never mentioned
after all, nothing happened between the two
but she had a soft-pause for the joshua
they last saw in march of the previous year
but on phone they commune ceaselessly&endlessly
it was a tale better not remember, for we are ahead of it now
she is now permanently in my arms
not to be distracted by a joshua or moses any longer
but still scared of an inevitable curve on our sojourn

Written words by James Edward Lee Sr 2020
From Anthology "God You Are More Than a Song"
We all need a Savior
In this world today
Because to enter Heaven
There is no other way.
So a Savior God did send
Jesus His own Son
For He is salvation's gift,
Gift for every one.
So why don't you take this gift
Which money cannot buy
And receive from Him that ticket
For the banquet in the sky.
Go ahead book your seat
And take that party ticket
Don't let this pass you by
I would hate it if you miss it.
Let me warn you before I go
And let this thought sink in
Not all tickets that's out there
Are true and genuine.
So take this ticket God's own Son
This one's not a dud
Look closely and you will see
It's stamped with His own blood.
We came together to look out from
our respective balconies
He lived in the opposite house from me
This went on all summer, I felt all warm and fuzzy
The day he left for college he waved goodbye to me
I looked sad, I felt bad, from now on it was
summer love for me.
The next time I saw him he had grown taller,
My heart skipped a beat it was a repeat of a visual treat
He caught my gaze and set it ablaze
But this time around he made it a point to talk to me.
We would catch glimpse’s of each other
Like the sun catches the fresh new leaves
Love blossomed this year, it was summer love for both
under the shadow of the balcony.
His father held an Army Job and got a transfer
He left one day from the house opposite to me
Time flew by, and we moved our separate ways
He was my first love, the one that got away.
That mean old August sun
he just keeps on beating me down
The heat I am sweating from
makes me look like I have drown
A swig of water from a jug
an old rag to wipe my face
And Mr. Sun is smiling snug
it's only time I need to erase
I got troubles on my mind
and a world of endless time
No matter what I do
my thoughts linger back to you
Can a sin be amended
can a wrong be suspended
Nothing matters anymore
my life is spoken for
Dig a ditch, shovel a path
hit a rock, breaking your back
Long in the heat a body shimmers
like a ghost glows in ember
Never forget but refuse to remember
that for your love myself surrendered
Chained and locked away in time
I got troubles on my mind

of her song “What’s love got to do with it”)
. . . . . . . . . . . .
You must have known how your sensual voice
Makes our hearts rock
That it’s the emotional force moving the blues
It’s a mystery
The sound of music
You must have felt you mixed energy and sadness
Yeah, yeah
What’s song got to do, got to do with it?
What’s song but the rhythm of the heart?
What’s song got to do, got to do with it?
You held on to it even when your heart broke
It’s not an overstatement we regard you
The queen of rock and roll
If we say you’re one of the greatest singers
Of our time
There’s a reason for it
There’s unique musical character
That makes your songs electrifying
Yeah, yeah
What’s song got to do, got to do with it?
What’s song but the rhythm of the heart?
What’s song got to do, got to do with it?
You held on to it even when your heart broke
Yeah
You’ve faced many twists and turns
In your life
You didn’t lose the sense of purpose and hope
Showed your vitality in the new pop music
Yeah, yeah
What’s song got to do, got to do with it?
What’s song but the rhythm of the heart?
What’s song got to do, got to do with it?
You held on to it even when your heart broke
Got to do, got to do with it
What’s song but the rhythm of the heart?
What’s song got to do, got to do with it?
You held on to it even when your heart broke
Got to do
Yeah, got to do with it
What’s song but the rhythm of the heart?
What’s song got to do, got to do with it?
You held on to it even when your heart broke
What’s song?
Yeah, yeah
Got to do it
got to do it
What’s song?
But the rhythm of the heart
Got to do
Yeah, got to do with it
What’s song but the rhythm of the heart?
You held on to it even when your heart broke…

Simply made of rope and wood
Tied to a tree, tight and good,
Sit right down on the edge of my seat
Hang on, then push back with your feet
Lift your shoes off of the dirt
Please, just once, what can it hurt,
That branch is thick, my knots, strong
I have been waiting for this, o, so long
I've got you as out you swing
Feel the air, let go of everything,
Feel like a kid again, let your hair fly
Kick your legs, unafraid to go high
Swing up and almost feel yourself fall
Just remember, I've got you and all,
Smile, even laugh, feel your heart pump
Let go of the ropes, as off you jump.

"Got any rivers you think are un crossable?
Got any mountains you cannot tunnel through?
God can do what no other power can do".
The lyrics to a song by John Wesley, a great revivalist
and accomplished song writer, speak to the practical SIDES
of our everyday LIVES and remind us that we are not ALONE.
Though at TIMES driven by stormy winds, and far we have ROAMED,
Our strong faith REMINDS us that we have not reached our HOME.
Figuratively, we all have crossed rivers once thought IMPOSSABLE
and tunneled through gigantic mountains once deemed UNTHINKABLE.
How many times have we completed missions and asked, "Did I do THAT?" Or what about the times you climbed mountains taller than Mount ARARAT?
Do you remember the time your job was OUTSOURCED to India, or 10 years ago when you went through a horrible DIVORCE? Although it hurt you to the CORE and left you bruised, SOUR, and SORE, you overcame all of that and MORE, because you were blessed with God's POWER which did for you, as Mr. Wesley said, 'what no other power could do'.

A hypnotic effect is possessed by this gadget
It could even lead to a syndrome called pagets
Bent over and private its user spellbound
But unsocial and rude to all those around
Multiple noises are deftly emitted
With buttons to press and assets unlimited
Texts dispensed and news accessed
Leaving conversation to certain death
Ring tones abound in public spaces
Phone chat like barkers in public places
photos and selfies posted here and there
All manner of games to further ensnare
Thus putting the user in greater peril
When mobile phones become a menace
To drivers and walkers all absorbed
A selfish misuse to be abhorred
And a blight when the charger is mislaid
And constant debit to be repaid
This amazing gadget should remain in pocket
Until really needed, then out of the closet
