Do-Gooders Coke Cola Bus

I see the Do-Gooders are out in force again
And this time it's the annual Christmas Coke Cola Bus
Stirring up the fuss
Crusaders against any and every cause
No topic to juvenile or puerile to rage against
They want to ban children visiting the Coke Cola bus
Because some children are obese
And as they see it this is there duty to stop
As it will somehow end and solve the crisis

Now correct me if I am wrong
But I have never seen a child
Buying or pushing a shopping cart
Around a Supermarket
With a Credit Card
Or am I shopping on the wrong child friendly day's
It's usually Parents who buy and choose the items in the trolley
And Parents who cook make or feed their kids
What is the point or to what end
Is banning the bus so children can't see it
Going to make a blind bit of difference
And why should everyone have to pay the price
Or is that old teacher's adage
You see now you have ruined it for everyone
Father Christmas
Santa Claus
In all its modern day guises
White Beard
Red Santa Suit
Is a Coke Cola patented trademark
They invented modern day Christmas
As we have come to know it
I know it is crass to say but
Coke has done more to promote Christmas
Than religion or church has
I wish all these Do-Gooding people would stop trying to fix us
Who actually asked them to
And why do they know best
Who anointed them saviors of the rest
The only thing good intentions have ever taught me is
Walk a mile in my shoes
Looking out your warm safe curtain windows
And your rose tinted views
For what its worth
You will never be the same
When you know what the reality of a life of pain brings
You cling on to the small things
Like the annual Christmas Bus
Beside Mum and Dad
Fulfilled and glad
Is that so bad

Premium Member Always There

We met so young
He was always there
In classes and clubs
He was always there.

As we entered our teens
He was always there
I'm now nearly 18
He was always there.

We got engaged and wed
He was always there
Kids we had
He was always there.

As our lives went forward
He was always there
We watched our kids
He was always there.

We went out with friends
He was always there
I was on the computer
He was always there.

Met friends for coffee
He was always there
Walked on my own
He was always there.

Now all i do is sit and stare
As i look around with who i share
The faces and mannerisms, not all from birth
Are always there, for what its worth.

Wrist of the Snake Killer

( for what its worth. )

-- Instruction:  How to know there's nothing left ~ you've over-stayed your visit

I recall the sun of old thoughts seeped under:

~ How to 'Improve the world' ~ leave something useful behind ~ something better.

--Instruction:  The first evil act is eating

I see the shocked wine bottles
    steak sauce and
    jutting ribs of celery bunches
    the next shelf
    down

but if i eat the stings
    of honey bees

    claws
    of the great bear

    follow
    these wild-flower trails up
    into conspiracies of wood

    and whispers

    where all else
    watching following is santified
    by my return

    but men weep weed broken
    sorrow condemned

    See the little beetle there

    safe

crouched in a crusted earth church
    sleeping in a god circle

    only men careen cloudward
wandering into the gray ends of the world

Now the old oil lamp bends
    the kitchen dark

    the lines dark
    forms looming
    from the side

    I see myself

    ablaze in the still hours
    before dawn

it doesn't show on my face though

    sad like salt or
    shadow spent

    like ash gone cold

Deep Dreams

in the deepest of my deep dreams
I shall take my little dream boat
away and away from the earth
I shall gently slowly surely float
outwards in between the planets
I shall haul and jib tack and run
setting my sheets to catch in full
the wind streaming off the sun
past the outer giant’s shining rings
to the very edge of solar space
my little boat will gather speed
and ever faster I will surely race
riding with the giants
that swim the vacuum seas
the whales of space that
travel with greatest ease
to the end of the universe
along their timeless track
leading to eternity
then curving back
past that little star
insignificant in space
that makes the life
on my birth place
past the little shining ball of blue
the very near despoiled earth
take one last look
for what its worth
ashes to ashes
dust to dust
we destroy the earth
we were given in trust
time to begin my final
curving eternal run
to journey’s end
in the depths of the sun
my eyes wont reach
past the light that blinds
but I can see it’s glory
down deep in my mind
little boat will take me
surely to my sleep
through the fringing oceans
into that solar deep
sense the glory fading
slowly from mind sight
as I gently sink
into that endless night
serenaded by the whales
giving me their song
perhaps they are saying
in leaving I belong

Monkey See Monkey Doo Mummy Never Wanted You

Baby did not know

Anything outside her circle

No 1 wanted to be the 1 to tell her

Damaged people like nothing more
than to burst comfy bubbles

The world is filled with sharp corners
Sticks and Stone's and Horrors

Sadly these are lessons that
Baby will have to learn for herself

All you can do is put a loving arm around her
when she comes home crying questioning why the other kids are so horrible and mean

And hope and pray she has the strength
and presence to overcome all they can
throw at her

Safe in the knowledge that she has a
strong , stable and loving home to
go home to to

Unlike the children of broken homes
that perpetuate
Monkey see or Monkey doo

No 1 loves you
Mummy never wanted you

Hopefully before you are 2 broken
You will come to realise

It was not your fault
There was nothing you could do

The Blame Alone
Lies Solely with Her
For what its worth

You are not responsible for your Birth
Or lack of upbringing

Unfortunately 1 of life's great unsolved mysteries
Is why any old 2 clueless Idiot's can have children
without the means or desire to look after them

Why for the Love of God ?
Why ?

And how are those unfortunate infertile
Couples to wrestle with said injustice ?

In a perfect world
Every child should have a loving Mum and Dad

And deserves a kiss on the head
Before being tucked into a warm Bed

Or am i Wrong ???????????

Heaven Meets Earth - In My Mind

There is a place in my mind, where heaven meets earth
A place in my mind where love gives birth.
A love that’s put into our hearts from GOD above
And earths beauties, like a snow white dove.

Where the two can walk hand in hand
And against evil, they take their stand.
Love and beauty is what is shown
And in our minds, it is known.

Everything in life comes in twos
It is up to us what we use and choose
Heaven and earth, rich and poor,
Evil and good, male and female
This is the things that are real.

And if we use what the LORD provides
We can walk side by side.
It is not difficult to see
That this is the way GOD intended it to be.

The love between a man and a woman
As they walk hand in hand
Laughing, joking, and making plans.

Seeing children playing together.
You tell me ! What can be better.
When an elderly couple can
still smile at each other
And acknowledge everyone
As their sister and brother.

The mind is truly where heaven meets earth
So let’s enjoy it all, and take it for what its worth.

Assemblage of the Incognito Porch

In these parts dead forests run to the center dry
Bed rocks ring hollow in deep basins opened wide
Water no longer meets the cabin door
Since the lake became emptied by some force

Irrigation comes at a cost
The lake had to disappear of course
Drained under some false pretense
Someones profit for what its worth

Farmers upstream blocked the rivers entrance
Tributaries became empty, ended at the source
Gone with nothing more

Woods grow old before their time
Roots shrink from thirst and heat
Water stops at the edge to center
Evaporates, starting at the shore

Assemblage of the porch goes on
Quietly green birds cry out in pain
Parched land remains, fish die
Killed but not forgotten
Wild ducks and hunter owls departed

Hard work goes on as is expected
As required, the cabin stands alone
In isolation, with what is left of sanity

Metal tools are needed in this instance
To build an entrance, an extension to the soul

By mid day the steps are laid
Floor boards set to hold a rocking chair
Thick copper nails drive home a point
By the bearded man in dark sunglasses
Hiding under a sombrero afternoon

Somber hammering echos out hollow sounds
Over the rock beds that once held water high
Continues under a scorching sun that follows

At evening when work is finished, sleep steps in
Oceans assemble by the completed cabin porch
In a dream, rise to the level of the door once more
Evaporates by morning, disguised as tidal forces

Premium Member The Art of Eating Lobster

When in swanky restaurants, 'tis easy to daintily dine on cordon bleu,
But dining on lobster requires deft finesse without humiliating you!
For what its worth, I offer the following that I've learned o'er the years,
To show snobbish waiters you're really not all that wet behind the ears!

First of all, a wizened waiter will provide a bib if he's really on the job.
(Somehow, they perceive right away that you are a rather artless slob!)
When cracking open each morsel, some violent squirting may occur!
Should juice spritz the guy at the next table simply say, "Sorry sir"!

The hapless lobster is dissected in certain order to make the meal complete.
First, remove the claws, crack the shell with a claw cracker and remove the meat.
For this a fork is provided, then discard the shells in a bowl being discreet!
Next, twist the tail from the body and break off the flippers - those you musn't eat!

And now for the piece de resistance, that long anticipated holy grail,
(That you paid fifty-five bucks for!) - that scrumptious lobster's tail!
Insert a lobster fork into the flesh and gently ease it out of the shell.
(Sucking meat from the legs is optional - on that matter I will not dwell!)

A female lobster might contain a bit of roe considered a delicacy by some.
(If that is your fancy, quietly asking about the lobster's sex is the rule of thumb!)
Plunge lobster pieces in butter taking care not to let it run down your arm!
(Leaving a sizeable tip for the disaster you've created wouldn't do any harm!)

Supper Time

Oh the army looked after its own
It really must be said
Except the RSM didn’t really
Tuck the squaddies up in bed.
Three square meals a day
You could eat your fill
They did try to keep you fit
Just in case you had to kill

And they opened up the cook house
Every single night for toast and tea
I sometimes went if broke
After all everything was free.
They had the largest toaster in the world
At least the largest one I had ever seen
As I was young and not well travelled
It very well just may not have been,

Where you would cook your toast
Accompanied by the pop pop pop
Of those kamikaze cockroaches
That tried to run across its top.
There were heaps and piles and scatters
Scorched and charred by the score
No matter how many failed
There were always plenty more.

We’d sweep the toaster top
Brush them on the floor
But just seconds later
There’d be plenty more.
We’d find them in the soup
We’d find them in the custard
Like an invading force
Permanently mustered.

Sometimes we probably ate them,
They probably added to the taste
When we rushing back on shift
And eating in a haste.
We feared the consequences more
Of parading for work late
Than any minor adulteration to
The food that we all ate.

When man is gone
For what its worth
Maybe the cockroach will
Inherit this earth.
Oh the army looked after its own
It really must be said
Except the RSM didn’t really
Tuck the squaddies up in bed

Premium Member Gods

What started it off
To believe in them
Spirits or Religion
Their is no God in men

Iconic figures
From past and present years
Ruling tribes
With tears and fears

Showing allegiance
To the Sky and Earth
As we all know
The planet of their birth

Nominated leaders
By ancient committee's
Who grew to rule
Ancient towns and cities

Power, Suppression
As their leaders are feared
To serve whose Gods
Why citizens are speared

Aztec, Inca and Egyptian Priests
Look above
Who do they greet
A cloudy sky
A starry night
If they opened their eyes
No Gods in sight

Civilisation's past and present too
Just needing something to look up too
Clever leaders, imaged thoughts
Create a God
Citizens bought

Man made icons
And planet earth's
Were worshipped divinely
For what its worth

Lava, statues, clouds and corn
From their countries
Born and sworn
If there is a God
Around us every day
Its Mother Nature
In every way.
