What started it off
To believe in them
Spirits or Religion
Their is no God in men

Iconic figures
From past and present years
Ruling tribes
With tears and fears

Showing allegiance
To the Sky and Earth
As we all know
The planet of their birth

Nominated leaders
By ancient committee's
Who grew to rule
Ancient towns and cities

Power, Suppression
As their leaders are feared
To serve whose Gods
Why citizens are speared

Aztec, Inca and Egyptian Priests
Look above
Who do they greet
A cloudy sky
A starry night
If they opened their eyes
No Gods in sight

Civilisation's past and present too
Just needing something to look up too
Clever leaders, imaged thoughts
Create a God
Citizens bought

Man made icons
And planet earth's
Were worshipped divinely
For what its worth

Lava, statues, clouds and corn
From their countries
Born and sworn
If there is a God
Around us every day
Its Mother Nature
In every way.

Premium Member Born In Sin

Who decided that I was to be born in sin?
Can life be judge at conception? At birth?
And when is the first sin committed?
When you cry out just to be held
And not out of hunger
To be warmed by the tranquil touch
Of a mother's loving arms and bosom
If a child is born innocent
Than how can we be born in sin?
Does a Just God place the burden of sin
Upon the new born?
Sins of the father upon the child
To generations hence
Thank you Adam and Eve
If God can not forgive the sins of the first
How can He forgive those of the last?
I squeeze the soft sand in between my toes
And gaze upon the heavens in the evening light
The enormity of existence
The belittling of self
If I could scatter the grains of sands into the beyond
Would they match the stars?
Born in sin
Before I myself could ever decide
I was condemn to die by being born
I wish I could stretch my arms and touch the stars
Embrace the stubble Face of God
And tell Him
Lord I love You
Is that not enough for You to love me too?
Born in sin

My Version of Hell

Well there’s this place that I see in my dreams,
A place full of darkness and ear piercing screams.
Screams you have never heard before,
Screams so terrifying you won’t want to hear them anymore.

They make you want to run; their fear amplifies your own,
But you can’t run because this place is now your new home.
The only glimpse you have of hell and the terror it imposes
Is just for a second, just before the door closes.

Believe me it’s not a big party, where everyone’s having a ball,
No, it’s like a rubric cube, metal boxes housing the great and the small.
In a foetal position you are stuffed in this thick steel square box,
With a door that squashes you in, that has a six-digit combination lock.

You may believe in the party and see the devil karaoking your favourite song,
But it’s stuffed in a small box with loud screams going on and on.
At first you pray and plead to God to forgive.
But in vain you pray amiss, because you would not believe

Then you will question God and ask why?
Ending in you cursing, hoping God will let you die.
I had a glimpse of this from the glass tube I slid through,
Into a darkness so thick you could almost chew.
