Him or me? Sweetie who's it gonna be? You have me waiting, anticipating. This
question should not have you hesitating. I've sat back and listened to you explain. Your
need for me but love for "what-his-name?" It should not be so hard for you to decide. For
he keeps you on an emotional roller coaster ride. Take a look back when I was before him.
It's not difficult to comprehend. I was your honey. lover, friend. Just follow your heart and
follow what your body tells you. It's a start when you acknowledge I've never failed you.
Damn-it woman you hold the power. Who do you think about in lonely hours? Who do you
imagine touching you in the shower? You know I'm the one who goes deep. Sweetie you
know my love is unique. You know I'll do what he won't in the bedroom. You know when it
comes to you nothing is sexually taboo.
I'm the one who takes you out on the town. You know I like to go down. You know I'm
far from selfish in bed. Does he wake you up to morning head? Come on don't lie. Does he
gobble, make you hobble after eating your apple pie? Does he keep your kitty on a sexual
high? Does he flip, dip bite into your battleship? He probably see's it as invalid. So I know
he don't toss your salad. Baby you know what I'm about. Does he make you cry out in
ecstacy? When you're with him do you think of me?
Tell me, does he show you public affection? Was he there with you watching "Obama"
win the election? Is he there for you, share with you special moments in life? Will he
sacrifice his career? Does he whisper sweet words in your ear? Does he kiss the tip of your
nose? Surprise you with a rose? Does he massage your feet? Take you out to eat? Does
he make your heart smile? And to comfort you, would he walk a thousand miles? Does he
do these things and then some? No! He's silly and dumb! Always on the run, always on the
go and no! "Attention" he doesn't show! He don't know that I'm the one who understands. I
support your goals and plans. I know you like no other. You don't need advice from your
mother. She even knows I'll catch you if you fall. You know she see's me as her son-n-law.

Note: Spoken word piece. Sometimes ladies you let that best male friend get away and
end up with th wrong man!
For many years I have realized that our hearts are very deceptive and unreliable. I cannot imagine how many times my heart has let me down and exposed the dark and negative aspects of it. Please permit me to share just one experience with you.
Thumbing through some old material a few days ago, I came across something that I experienced over 40 years ago and more than 2000 miles away. When I read the notes which had been in my possession for more than 35 years, my soul was enriched because I was sharing about the need for dedicating our lives to God which often demands that we take the initiative to say, "I'm Sorry", not only to God but also to fellow humans, even if we think that we are right.
On January 2, 1983, I referred to an encounter I had with a nurse in or about 1975 in Memphis, Tn. Now, 40 plus years later, I remember being in Memphis, but I don't even remember such an encounter. Had I not recorded the incident, I would not be speaking of it today. My notes reveal that a point was being made about changing our minds and taking the initiative to apologize. My notes also revealed that I was indignant toward the nurse, after which I left the scene and was heading home. Somewhere between that nurse and my home, The Holy Spirit convicted me of my actions and attitude.
Again, presently, I do not remember what really happened, but not only was I convicted by The Holy Spirit, I was compelled by Him to find a public telephone. Before I reached home, I telephoned the nurse and apologized for my behavior.
God knows every detail of what happened that day in Memphis, and I suspect if shown a video of my behavior, I would be embarrassed, to say the least, and perhaps surprised by the anger released from my heart. For many a year, we have heard it said, "Follow your heart". Technically, I do not follow my heart, but I lead my heart. And but for the grace of God, the cleansing blood of Christ, and the compelling forces of The Holy Spirit, I would be forever lost.

planned it out all along
to find my place among those doing nothing wrong
they wouldn't know it
but i have people believing we're bigger than we are
planned it all along
to come your way
and leave you holding the bag
probably will do it again
me myself and I standing alone
now you get the blame
of a simple logical equation
to find the perpetrator of such a twisted plot
whose come into your life
and dressed you up in everything but love
premeditated perfect plan
simple as 1 2 3
walk away looking innocent
so why are my dirty hands the only ones clean
to blackmail you with the fear of being caught doing the wrong thing
simple solution to such soo called chaos
logic dear watson
we knew this day would come
the day we'd have to sing a familiar dance and song
so why among all of you singing along
do you not know the dance routine
of those coming your way to do you wrong
the world doesnt like to admit to its mistakes
but familiar patterns of unhealthy routines
life is pretty simple when you follow your heart
we all know that dance
we all know that song
so why are the misinformed of the act of how to spot
the ones you wouldnt let in
I'm smaller than you realise
and with emotional baggage to hang on you
why do you look so guilty
when i know the truth
simple logical equation
so lets start back at act 1 scene 1
the curtain closes when we have to change the routine
because a few people truly dont belong
executing a plan to blackmail you
and walk away leaving you to pay the consequences
i may not be intelligence
but honestly
its a simple logical equation
anyone can solve
to find out whose the one
follow your heart
the day hate makes more sense your defeated
breaking down what happened in my living room
how i was held hostage
and in the end the cop blamed and beat me
put that into perspective
and see that there must be a simple solution
the world just isn't organised enough to pull this off
someone would have said something
someone would have taken a stand
but if not
its pretty obvious
from this distance
so here i go folding with the winning hand
lightning doesnt strike the same place twice
but ohnestly hiding behind your intelligence
and freedom of speach to blackball me
i did it to myself
i just dont know why so many of you wouldnt do the right thing
(Dedication: For Ann, who knows.)

Follow your heart and listen well:
Do what you love and let it show;
All good things start when urge in-dwells;
Your musing dove inspires warm glow.
Go with the flow with inner voice;
Dare to dream big as wonder flames;
Discern and know your steadfast choice;
Sweet as a fig your primal game.
Your sure heart knows just what brings joy;
Love with passion as purpose drives;
Ask that you know your steady ploy;
Live bold action as your heart strives.
Dare to be bold with courage fond:
Look within you for inspired cues;
Let thought unfold in your own pond;
It's up to you to create you!
Live your best form each brand new day;
Focus and see a world of change;
Love is the norm that brings grand play;
Truth and beauty connects your range.
When things look bad as failure flings,
See through the dark that engulfs pain;
Cheer hides in sad: watch good times swing;
You heart will spark success again.
Learn to discern your time and space;
Be unafraid as failure comes;
Stare at concerns to yield your place;
Fear is a dread that zero sums.
Live with fond joy and dare to play;
Life is a game that you can win;
Defeat the ploy that fear portrays;
Wear well your name with faith within.
On earthly spheres right now and here,
Each man is born to a set tune;
Success is near beyond all fear;
Let work adorn what pulse attunes.
Know who you are as heart knows mind;
Walk your path well and do have fun;
Cause is a star that seeks and finds;
Result now dwells within life's pun.
Rhymes and reason follow the sun;
Do what you do with end in mind;
Sync with season and prime your run;
It's up to you to seek and find.
Keep mindset clear when things turn bad;
Love will know grace that governs each;
Keep heart sincere when sad turns mad;
Love firms your face to glimpse fond reach.
Here by your side, pure passion springs:
Here as you think a thousand deals;
Here for the ride, sure purpose brings:
Here as you link a hearty feel.
Keep doing now what your heart knows;
Keep faith and hope that lives love here;
Keep love's endow in sacred flow;
Keep poise and scope and work with cheer.
Remember well the words you say:
Encrypt your voice with pleasant poise;
Describe and dwell from play to play;
Live well your choice and thus rejoice.

As the years go by and things begin to change…its time for us to step up and get ready
to take over the reigns. Our parents as the baby boomers did their part. They
sacrificed, they cried, they died, to make life easier for us, its time for generation X
to stand up and continue on with the march.
Black, White, and every race, its all the same, were loosing out at life, and were not
even playing a game.
The way things are going, as I see through my eyes, we are worse off than before and we
are telling ourselves lies. We’re denying the fact that things are bad, the world is in
a devastating situation and it’s getting to the point where it’s sad. Even Christians
fill their mind and body with the worldly things; we need to rinse it all away with
Godly Listerine.
Television, radio, movies, its corrupting our souls and our minds, we need something
different, we need to be more Christ-like, we need something Divine. Were looking for
role-models, were not going to find them on TV, lets face the facts, lets get back to
the basics, lets follow JC.
The headlines might read, "Another one died today" the captions might just say, “She
killed her baby son". What are we doing as Christians you see, we're loosing souls to a
fiery eternity. Have you done your job today, or did another soul just slip past your
way?
There's mothers against daughters, fathers against sons, wives against husbands, will
this madness ever be done?
We need to find a solution; we need to find an outcome, were in a race against time, but
are we on the run? There's something we can do, there's always a way, lets come
together as Christians, lets come together as a human race. Lets follow God and His
mercy, and His amazing grace, let’s look deep into our souls...not just face to face.
So don’t follow the crowd, stay close to the Word, give God all the glory, the glory He
deserves. Stay on the road that's narrow, not the one as wide as the sea, the small
road might be lonely, but it leads to a life in eternity! Just follow your heart, keep
with what is true, if everyone else goes to hell, well where does that leave you? We
need to turn to the Lord and keep our eyes on the prize; stay focused on Him and let Him
be our ultimate guide.

Sitting on the hot asphalt blacktop in miles of traffic, feeling lost and alone.
People around me doing the same, everyone seems so sullen and confused.
Cell phone junkies don't know if its day or night in their mundane lives, I guess not much matters anymore. My mind drifts from one thought to another, thinking what's it all for - this life?
Light turns green but I'm not sure I am going in the right direction to begin with. It caught my eye, a shadow overhead that had huge wings - a bird.
An Albatross in the city? Where did it come from? I was intrigued as no one else saw him. Making my way through lanes of cars I tried to follow this elegant creature; I wanted to fly with him.
He was never out of my sight as if he wanted me to follow, and that I did.
The outside world disappeared as he guided through winding roads and the hustle of urban decay. My window down, I could smell the oceans salty breeze, but how? I don't live close to the ocean. He was pulling me past trials and troubles of the day to day to something more important, but what?
This sea bird had led me to the water's edge, sitting like a beacon of hope on the beautiful beach wall. He wanted to pull me through its opening to the sand. He flew low towards the tides as I followed. The shoreline was devoid of people except me and him, the water wetting his feet. He looked at me as if knowing all along where to take me.
We locked eyes and then he beckoned me as his wings carried him towards the sunset horizon with grace. I waded into the ocean as the waves washed away feelings of doubt. My troubles were gone from me.
No past, no future, just the present being one with what he was trying to convey to me. As he faded across the skyline the setting sun glittered across the ocean and me like golden embers.
I now understand what he was trying to show me; it had been there all along. But where? The answer to where is the vastness of your heart. He was a messenger of an otherworldly kind. Follow your heart and the Albatross will lead you home, a home inside yourself.
I shed a tear of joy and thanked him for his actions. I saw his reflection against the water as I began learning to swim again. After all these years now, I can touch my dreams and hear the voice of the waves speak....
I believe we are spiritual beings having a human experience,
We all have a purpose, a divine destiny
Some never fulfill it because their hearts become cold and empty,
Many forces surround us everyday,
Some oppose us while others encourage us to pray,
When you take the time to remove daily distractions,
Close your eyes and simply breathe,
You realize that there is more to this life than your eyes in the natural can perceive,
Miracles occur every day, supernatural experience's some would say
When death comes knocking on your door too soon
Angels guard your life and obey Gods directions to save you from your doom
Science can prove only certain things
It can’t explain why some people have seen angelic wings
Or why some have died and gone to heaven or hell
Come back to earth and live to tell
For as long as man has been, he has pondered the mysteries of life after death
Many religions have books that explain what happens when your time has expired and your spirit has left,
Just gaze your eyes on the ocean tides,
Or watch as the sun each night says it goodbyes,
Observe a butterfly coming out of its cocoon,
Or a seed in the ground growing into a glorious bloom,
Just gawk into space through a telescope,
The billions of stars, planets and invisible ropes,
That connects us to the universe
It brings tears to my eyes and makes my heart want to burst,
When our spirits leave this outer shell,
We will understand what our minds on earth failed to tell,
When we see no more pain in a place with our name,
The sorrows of this life and all the days filled with strife
Will evaporate and wash away,
We will live forever where it’s always day,
We will never grow old or get physically sick,
So don’t take this life too seriously as the hours continue to tick,
Don’t give up when you’re feeling down and want to die,
Because there is a mansion in the sky waiting for you and I,
It’s all a matter of what you believe and if you know God
Eternity is not a silly fairytale or façade,
There is life after death just follow your heart,
It’s no coincidence that people have always known but question where to start,
I can guarantee if you ask God himself,
He will reveal it to you just like he has done for somebody else.

contest: life death beyond
What do you mean you’re leaving?
What aren’t you telling me?
You had said that we could run away and make it out on our own; out in the wild.
But now you’re packin’ up your things and givin’ me one last kiss good-bye.
And I say that U can’t leave me.
How am I supposed to live without you?
He said I really don’t give a damn what you do.
Keep the faith and never be afraid to follow your heart.
I’ve told you time and time again that this love thing is too big for little girls.
So I say. . .
I’m sorry I fell asleep in your arms and cried right in them,
You cared enough to dry them away,
But now,
That you turned away,
I still don’t know how you did it and
You’re Takin’ Your Love Away
I picked him up at a bar.
I didn’t have a care.
No.
I was too drunk, so he took me home, in his truck.
He stayed with me all night long,
Never once questioning. . .
Never once leavin’ my side.
As I rolled over the next morning
A note was in his place:
Call me if you need me, I’ll be back tonight, baby.
So I said. . .
I’m sorry I fell asleep in your arms and cried right in them,
You cared enough to dry them away,
But now,
You turned to me,
I still don’t know why you did and
I hope that
You’re not Takin’ Your Love Away
So. . .
Please don’t leave. . .
So he said. . .
I’m sorry I fell asleep in your arms and cried right in them,
I hope you care enough to accept this ring,
That’s all my heart.
I still know why I do this to you and
I don’t want you ever
Takin’ Your Love Away
I’m sorry I fell asleep in your arms and cried right in them,
You cared enough to dry them away,
But now,
That you turned away,
I still don’t know how you did it and
You’re Takin’ Your Love Away
I’m sorry I fell asleep in your arms and cried right in them,
You cared enough to dry them away,
But now,
You turned to me,
I still don’t know why you did and
I hope that
You’re not Takin’ Your Love Away
I’m sorry I fell asleep in your arms and cried right in them,
I hope you care enough to accept this ring,
That’s all my heart.
I still know why I do this to you and
I don’t want you ever
Takin’ Your Love Away
If you love me enough. . .
Then don’t
Take Your Love Away
In the garden, The Christ did pray
For strength ardent to bear pain's stay.
Gethsemane, the Master kneels
To ask to be with fond appeal.
His close aides lie in heavy sleep;
The Christ now cries in pain so deep.
The soldiers come to seize the king;
Judas now sums betrayal fling.
A kiss laid sound to tell on him;
Jesus is bound with scornful whim.
Then off they go to a mock trial;
Conspire to show with sure denial.
From high priest to Pontius Pilate;
An impromptu in vile charade.
Death sentence flawed in power play
As Roman law primes unjust stay.
Scourged to appease the crowd's frenzy;
The Christ was seized with mad cruelty.
Thirty lashes upon the flesh;
A mocking clash of bloodied mesh.
Crowned with thorns plucked from marine haunts;
Pierced mortal tucked with painful taunts.
Then the mocked king is forced to walk;
Heavy cross stings the burdened stalk.
The route is long with steps uphill;
The Christ bears strong with humble will.
Three times He falls, and feels the whip;
Cruel soldiers all who torments heap.
On and on He bears the wood cross
To death's alley, to sure recourse.
Along the way, The Christ meets those
Who did display the pains and ghost.
Golgotha's space, nails are driven,
The cross is raised in cruel action.
The Son of Man prays for mankind,
To save the damned that evil signs.
Two thousand years have come and gone;
The Christ did peer to times forgone.
Good Friday psalm to each and all,
We must not harm but heed love's call.
Love frames a law: "Who harms, must heal." --
Law without flaw, it's heaven's will.
The way ahead is beyond hate;
Let love break bread as grace now plates.
The Living Christ offers to each
Love's fine reprise: Love each to each.
The message comes to one and all;
Love is the sum of love that calls.
Go deeper still to know and see:
The Christ that wills love and beauty.
Grace sets you free to know your place,
To simply be love's happy face.
Heed this story just to be clear;
Join the lovely way to love's cheer.
Follow your heart and it will show
The steady art that true love knows!
Let love bring light to live and learn;
Let peace bring sight for grace soothes yearn.

I KNOW YOU, you're me because I am you
I know in the dark when you think No one is watching, in your head you question !!
In feeble struggles your weak mind tries to remember, too bad its an unfit muscle!! You should have exercised it, you should have thought more!!
I know you silently ask yourself:
"Where am I,
Who am I" No, you ask yourself
"Who am I really"
"Who can I ask? You silently ponder!!
Well you can't ask me and you can't ask us!!
Somewhere in time you lost yourself and you pretended to be a sheep and flocked along with the herd but now you're truly lost,
You lost your individuality and now you don't know what you lost because self to you doesn't exist. you walk, look, act and talk like a flock, we can't tell you apart
So they too must be lost, they cannot guide you! so now you wonder who is herding, who is grouping you? Who is numbering you?
Could I be him? Maybe you're different, Do you think we're alike?
Am I different or am I insane? If I'm normal then you're not
Somehow you long forgot where you misplaced your driving purpose, now the confused media is your driving deities.
Who where you before this world made you a number?
Before it programmed you all flock, fleet, herd and all prey to this disease of the mind, this insanity cloaked in normalcy
Does time mean anything to you, or are you too busy to listen?
what do you live for?
For in shadow in the stead of you truly living you choose to simply exist.
Do you know where you're herded or you like just being so much that you flow with tide. You shall rue this precious time you wasted dilly-dallying
I know tomorrow you will not have lived nearly enough, you'll wake up depressed and think on giving up and wish for an end and when the end comes, I know you'll wish you had lived for what truly matters.
We're not sheep, we need not be herded by men. Open your eyes see and believe , listen intently and truly hear to understand. Swallow this sour pill it is truth, its both bitter and sweeter than lies. Follow your heart ask for insight, use your mind, its a useful muscle, deeply breathe in today and make a vow to yourself to truly live.
