Premium Member An Act of War

Paris is a neon city of lights, color, and myth,
where people go out on a Friday night with
enthusiastic faces.
Eagles of Death, metal band were rocking it
at Bataclan Hall with oldies and their latest hit,
covering all their bases.

Happy voices and music mingle mid-air
for the city of light doesn't have a care
life moves merrily on.
And yet, all of that is soon about to change
their world will become bazaar and strange
their dreams all gone.

A human bomb tears into flesh and bone
but that suicide bomber did not come alone
the carnage has begun.
At multiple locations near and in the city
people are brutally murdered without pity,
by madmen with a gun.

Men of fanatical faith, filled with hate,
using religion to kill, choose their fate,
martyrs for a cause.
Innocence slaughtered in Allah's name
bought ISIS scorn and infamous shame,
and fickle applause.

We commiserate with the people of France
that was more than a depraved act of chance,
that was an act of war!
To prevent more atrocities, countries must unite,
and eradicate ISIS bases with a military might
the world's never seen before!

SELF AWARENESS

I pass days after days through several colours of rays,
Yet not confused when life is dark,
             but enthusiastic and zealous,
confident and decisive to overcome ill luck.

     Never pessimist, always optimist
          whether free or got stuck.
       Endured enmity, not lost dignity.

I honour my ego till it supports self esteem
         to fulfil desired dream.
        Always brave, even in grave.
Life is a challenge to explore transcending death.

Premium Member girl in the mirror

at first she appeared to be behind me
I turned away from the mirror to look
When I turned back she was waving at the edge of the glass
Her smile was bright

Her wave was enthusiastic
not a pussy wave
an “I am glad you are here!” wave
Who was this girl in the mirror?

I waved back.
Two other women shopping came closer for a peek.
“I think it’s great you wave to yourself,” one said.

Guessing no one saw the little girl except me
I immediately tried to buy the mirror.
The sales lady began snickering.
“That haunted mirror!” she said.

I nodded.
“You’ll bring it back.”
I did not think so, but it got crazy and I finally did.

Premium Member Knowing You Make a Difference

Fulfilled people have one thing in common; they have full hearts; purpose, and a mission.
Knowing you are needed every day, knowing you make a difference, can ruin depression,
Obliterate poor me, and doldrums; erase anxiety and sadness.
How do you build your soul into the person you were meant to be?
Fulfilled people help others, knowing the benefits are unparalleled.
They are compassionate and enthusiastic. They feel joy.
The people you help may not express thanks.
They may be cranky and mean.
They may be sullen.
They may be nasty.
But when you know that what you are doing is helping, and you know
What you doing is what you were sent to do,
You become
A Fulfilled person.
No one can take your joy, no one can steal your happiness. No one can hurt you.
If you have not found your “you self” yet, start avidly looking.
Made someone smile. Check. Made someone laugh. Check. Made someone feel special. Check.
Babies in neonatal units need to be cuddled; you could do that.
A young family would appreciate a free Saturday night baby sitter.
You could learn 8-year-old lingo, and introduce the 4 year olds to dandelion flower rings and homemade playdough.
Humane societies always need volunteers; taking a dog home might help you find your bliss.
If you are lonely, sad, feeling ugly or mad, click off your TV.
Go outside yourself and help someone.
Fulfilment almost always never happens alone.
Go find your joy!

Premium Member instructions for calling me

Call me spoiled, call me late for a date, call me casual or smirky or crazy
But do not call me sloth-like, sluggish, disengaged, placid or lazy.
Call me from Mexico, Canada, China, France or another fine place.
Call me from Venus, Mars, or a meteorite from outer space.

Just don’t call me from Kansas City, for it is where I live.
I already know every relative of Clyde, Celander and Viv.
Don’t call me from these two area codes - 816 and 913,
They are all Kansas City numbers, and would much annoy me.

Call me happy, joyful, enthusiastic, wild and carefree.
Never call me stupid or to dine on a persnickety tea.
Don’t call me at two or three a.m. that would irritate me.
And never never never call me from area codes 816 and 913.

Like the sun
Who wakes the dawn
Reflecting all the promises
Of rebirth and rekindling
Revival of grace and hope

Like the moon
Who wakes the night
Erasing all the breathless
Whispers of the light
Stardust dreams laughing

Like the heart
Who knows only kindness
Beautiful grace and abiding
Peace beyond even the reminders
Of a feeling that breaks through darkness

Like the soul
Who wonders at His inspiring
His wisdom and strength
His awesome singing of grace
That lifts all the sorrows
Reassures like the love of tomorrow

Like the spirit
Who knows Him, His friendship
Abiding within, sensing His gift
Of everlasting grace, complete faith
In the One who brings salvation

Like a prayer
Penetrating the heavens
Joyful and enthusiastic
Dancing with elation, inspiration
Falling in praises, amazed and grateful…

For the One who is light and love
The One who shines down from above
