The Mythological Mischief and Origins of Twins Gemini

The Spartan Queen Leda,
Attracted many an eye,
Both mortal and immortal,
From the land or Mount Olympus in the sky.

Zeus changed shape,
Approached Leda as a beautiful swan.
He seduced the Spartan Queen,
Which led to an expecting phenomenon.

Instead of one bun,
Her oven had two,
Immortally handsome Pollux and knockout Helen of Troy,
Or, “Oh, what Trojan battles will ensue!”

Beautiful twins,
One with beauty that would drive all men mad,
The other could physically knock others out.
Boxer skills, more than looks he had.

On the same night, mortal man Tyndareus,
Fathered the other twin set,
Mortal Castor and Clytemnestra,
Matching first name letters is where familial similarity frets.

Castor, the skilled horseman,
Close with his immortal brother,
Clytemnestra, Agamemnon’s wife,
Until murder became her whim with her lover another.

Clytemnestra invited Aegisthus into her bed,
While husband Agamemnon was away at war.
Agamemnon, the Commander of Greek forces,
Once home, did not expect to become a subject of gore.

However, in the end, Clytemnestra,
Did not emerge from her misdeeds unscathed.
Her son Orestes with sister Electra,
Conspired and murdered her, as punishment for how she misbehaved.

Elsewhere and elsewhen, twin battles ensue,
Castor and Pollux battled men two,
Over two women,
And a terrible nightmare came true.

Mortal Castor was stabbed,
By Lynceus with a sword,
Pollux was devastated,
A request from his heart poured.

Pollux approached Zeus,
Told him the loss of Castor cut him like a knife.
He asked to share his immortality with his brother,
Because their bond was larger-than-life.

Zeus sent both brothers,
Up to the starry sky,
To traverse the Heavens together,
Becoming the twins Gemini.

Premium Member Summer's End

“Beyond the silence of summer's end”
awaits fixed seasons to behold.
Mature, long days of summer's blend
adjust for new days to unfold.

From flowers, bright among lush greens,
the summer wanes from its debut
and sheds its vibrant, painted scenes-
replaced, as fading ones ensue.

At first, beset by summer's frown,
the autumn starts a subdued stage
of faded green and burnished brown-
until acceptance does assuage.

Then, gracefully, it soon achieves
a fulfilled glory, all its own!
With brilliant colors- paints its leaves
to crown what summer bliss had grown.

So, this is life- each season brings
a time to augment its planned stay.
At summer's end, new era springs-
to live next season the best way.

I met someone I know quite well, he gets about in cars, does buy and sell.
He spoke to me upon a theme, we were stirring coffee; I had just added my cream.
When (Fiat) money, he intoned..)
This word does it ring a bell?
Of it have you heard; or known, do tell.?
The cost of Fiat cars I then proclaimed'
No it’s of money I speak,he said if it’s all the same,
I had bought some autos and to me the word was told,
That it is money without collateral backing, that’s the truth stone cold!
So in this stressured contemporary rhyme, I think I must… It’s now high time
In fact a lack of sober views and action which did not ensue...
Control! ….. control!, "well they did not" now high (inflation) pop pop pops..!
Consume, consume they said and greed is good for all..!
Poor old Jim john and Doug..) Rachel, Joan and Queenie McCall..!
A dream was sold and lives were told, It’s Oh! so safe, more so than gold!
Now Fiat cash is on the scene, they run it off Oh! ream on ream
Just like my coffee encircling mug, so here’s to the truth lets give it a plug.
When I again pour in my cream,
as it begins to merge like inflations infusion, Maybe I’ll dream.
That financial fiasco’s and social screams are only rumours on a jittery theme,
However until "their problem" has been (sold), I’ll trade some paper cash for gold.

Whats You Thinkin Baby B

I have come to the end of my tether today and although you think I’m adorable
Enough is enough put your camera away for what you are doing is deplorable

You promised to take only three or four pics that you want for a memory book
Enough is enough no more coercing, or a black eye you’ll get from my left hook

Hear what I say just look into my eyes; I could be a heavyweight champ
Move in too close you will get a surprise, losing my fuse I’ll kick and I’ll stamp

Inside I'm smiling, a sweet little lad, but if I’m provoked what else can I do
Must nurture a smile without further ado; this look could cause fights to ensue

Peaceful at last no cameras in view, just you and me cuddling like we always do
Cooing and smiling, nothing to fear; it’s all on my face Mum I’d never hurt you

Premium Member Haunted House

We suspect the house is haunted by ghosts,
Who welcome guests to stay with them as hosts.
They love it when you come and play along,
To their creepy charade, and karaoke song.

The sound effects are dialed-up on cue,
To respond to whatever you may ensue.
Floorboards creak without footfalls.
A plate untouched, slips, topples and falls.

Whispers whistle in trees devoid of breeze.
Doors creak and bang shut with ease.
The clock ticks out of sync and slows,
As you watch it pulse in ebbs and flows.

You hear footsteps creeping up to you,
You look back to see the floor's askew.
The house is rocking from side to side,
It's the ghosts laughing, enjoying the joyride.

PHRASIS STREAMS part 3
Vapid smiles accepted with a sigh
radiate,diffused smiles say it as
it says,nature’s way,wisdom without
wonder,nothing left to mar.Whereas
scandal stains&shames as ambition
dwindles&dies.Seemingly at a loss,
trouble torments,standards sink&subside
disregarding the invaluable observation
that change cannot hurry.Such unreal
perspectives,never ending desires which gorge
‘til replete ignoring the splendour of
experience,bringing manifold inner
futility a discovery to astound the
dull discussion that ensue.

Premium Member Announcing Mogo

I’m very pleased to introduce to you
something once a toy made completely new.

All you need are two good legs and balance! But it’s not a bike.
It’s as healthy as biking, so cyclists, take a hike!

It’s much more fun for everyone to JUMP their way
to where they want to get to every day.

The bottom part of it, once made of rubber,
used to wear down fast and made a few kids blubber.

For when the steel part poked itself on through,
annoying clatter hitting pavement would ensue.

That old-fashioned part that gave bounce for you
is completely remodeled. Now metal won’t poke through!

And better yet, it’s not rubber-made at all!
You now can jump to anywhere on anything, and you won’t fall.

This awesome patented invention will never get stuck
in dirt, grass or gravel, nor in mud and muck.

With longer and higher jumps than you ever had before,
the distance you can jump has increased twenty times more.

No one else but us has this technology.
Come and take a test-jump. You will see. . .

why we call our product the Quick MOGO stick.
POGO redesigned, will make you jump for joy, and that is no schtick!

Premium Member Skinny Dipping

Skinny Dipping in your love
to gentle coos of mourning dove;
(dreams that I’ve been dreaming of)
while lying ‘neath the stars above.

Love so deep, cerulean blue,
dive in head first, this love ensue;
dreams of hearts that touch anew
make ripples in this brilliant hue.

Love so warm like mineral spring
that flows ‘round hearts as breezes bring
effervescence to this fling
as whispers from the heavens sing.

This poem was born when a friend mentioned diving
head first into love; I immediately thought when you
dive into love, you bare your soul and thus you are
skinny dipping in love. Just a different take on falling in love.

Premium Member A Cat a Rat and Paws That Bat

I have a cat that wears no hat;
though her paws do love to bat,
her mice and balls,
all through my hall.

A clever cat,
a feisty cat,
I made her a nice catnip rat;
my hyper-active tabby cat.

A cat with tail all poofed and fluffed;
her claws are never, ever rough;
they’re so sharp and needle-like;
my god, they’re really more like spikes!

All through the night she bounds and plays;
sometimes in a catnip haze.
All day long she’s in a  snooze;
fortunately, she doesn’t drink any booze.

I know she’s been on my computer,
looking for a kitty-suitor.
The claw marks on my keyboard tell,
without me hearing her collar bell.

Her favorite website, “Kitten Caboodle”;
actually sells tuna noodles.
I know because my credit card,
had more than thirty orders charged!

A confrontation did ensue;
she wound up with her ego bruised.
Pouting cat took paws that bat,
took out her frustration on catnip rat.

I tell you honestly,
I tell you true;
be grateful she doesn’t
belong to you.

Premium Member The Percussion of Perfection -

There is a beat to the world,
it burns and bites, it can calm & comfort,
it will arouse and it will anger, it is a romantic rhythm,
immutable and immaculate,
an unselfish music it is, life provides this sensative song
and we all perfom a dance of danger, delight,& determination
as a humble gratuity for it's majesty,

how could any rational person contend that Nature is imperfect,
who dares accuse life of wrong doing,
how does such turgidity exist, minds on meger budget,
oh but they do, ugly creatures of hollow heads have argued so pompously
to indict the cosmos with error like how fowl beggars cavil
about quality of charity,
huffing, moaning, and squirming in their rationalizations for feeling indignant about life
inglorious as dirt on silk,
wrangling like gluttonous mosquitoes, vile & clumsy,
if they were to admit life's absolute perfection
then more self accountability for actions need ensue,
how could they slander Deity without blame,

I spoke to a religious zealot, pious as pain to wounds,
he said, oh no, life, including human discretion cannot be perfect
for there is sin and gross debauchery,
I discussed the matter with a scientist, calculating as the I.R.S., he replied,
no no, you play semantic games, nature is immensely imperfect,
like the price of fame,
I politely requested an example of imperfection from him, he smugly said,
" genetic mutations ", what unabashed ego I thought,
his response seemed word game,
I debated a logician on the subject, thorough as an army ant this one was,
she remarked that the idea of imperfection
could cause imperfect reality,
I said, if anything occurs it must be, otherwise it would not happen,
imperfection is that which should not happen,
all that becomes real is present time impeacability -
