Ghost

When someone has a terminal illness, people often start treating them with pity, and like they're already gone; instead of enjoying the time they have left together. Let's focus on treating each other with kindness, dignity, respect and compassion. We only live once. And we need to appreciate each other while we have the time.

Ghost
By Michelle Morris
23/01/2023

I may be dying
But that could be delayed
No use treating me like
I'm already in the ground

You keep acting like I'm a ghost
Even when I'm in the room
When will you realise
That it's not all doom and gloom?

So, take it back, take it back
Step on back, step on back now
Give me room, room to breathe
To live my life, live my life

So, take it back, take it back
Step on back, step on back now
If you can't enjoy this moment
Walk away into the night

We've been friends for many years
We've shared so many hopes and fears
All our dreams folded into history
Sharing life's interesting mystery

Surrender to the moment
We've got memories to hold on to
No one can expect to live forever
But let's do the sad thing once I'm gone

So, take it back, take it back
Step on back, step on back now
Give me room, room to breathe
To live my life, live my life

So, take it back, take it back
Step on back, step on back now
If you can't enjoy this moment
Walk away into the night

So, take it back, take it back
Step on back, step on back now
Give me room, room to breathe
To live my life, live my life

So, take it back, take it back
Step on back, step on back now
If you can't enjoy this moment
Walk away into the night

I may be dying...
But I'm not yet gone...

Premium Member My grandma is a GlamMaw

my grandma is not a grandma at all, but a glam-maw
her porch is a reflection of the beauty she gleans
healthy plants with gorgeous pink and red blossoms
a porch swing with plump soft pillows for comfort

my glam-maw does not do anything that is not glamorous
even her teensy tiny nightgown is pretty with its pink lambs
grandpa and she cuddle on this swing, enjoying the night winds
the stars look down, hoping they can twinkle half as well as she does

I have known about glam-maw since I was a teensy baby
recognizing the angelic look in her eye, knowing she loved me
she keeps nothing that she does not love, which explains her glam
her entire house is full of goodness and joy, reflecting her glam-maw-ness.

Premium Member My Perfect Day

Adam Lambert will come swooping in with Queen.
They will serenade me as I sit on my deck enjoying myself.
A van will pull up and my dog and cat will jump in.
They will be whisked off to Doggie and Kitty Day care.
Returning fully groomed with their vaccines in the evening.

Husband asks if I want any more orange juice or another omelet.
He's brought me homemade donuts, a waffle, and a bacon quiche.
He laid out my clothes for the day and will put the extra ones away later.
I draw a cartoon, write poems, and then get in my limo for my work ride.
Children at my school cheer “Mrs. K! Mrs. K! Mrs. K!" upon my arrival.

Principal announces that I have been named Woman of the Decade.
Tries to cancel classes, but I insist on teaching them because I love to.
The press comes in and takes photos of me. Oprah interviews me.
Gayle was too intimidated to come cause of my awesome reputation.

Limo driver waits while I travel down the avenue greeting many friends.
They tell me about my surprise party and we share many funny stories.
I eat my favorite barbequed chicken at Governor Stump’s Restaurant.
Then I am whisked home where I can slide under my electric blanket.
The perfect day!

Premium Member Dealing in Time

If time was currency would we be rich
Could we become outrageously spendthrift
Should we be gladly generous of heart
Tossing our dosh away, alike a dart.

Would friends surround us, if they had no time
Their currency gone on fine food and wine
At first class restaurants, only the best
Enjoying life's luxuries to excess.

Expecting handouts, on us to depend
Knowing that we'd plenty of time to spend
With currency growing fast, day by day
False friends will never, ever go away.

Good friends will share with you what’er they have
There’s no wondering or thinking of that
For whatever reason one's down on luck
They'd share their currency, no ifs or buts.

Eight Mile Rhyme Bubble Bath Battle

You want to love me don’t you
Why won’t you
My words will soak into you just like I told you
Do you feel my flow?
I’m soft rhyming iridescent sultry slow
I’ll drown you with the sensual letters I know
Feel that bubbling inside of you grow
I love that red glow
you try not to let your pleasure show
even though I can feel you vibrate from head to toe

I’ll listen to what you say
But responding is child play
Your words are duller than bath water grey
Me, I shape shift like kneaded clay
slip slide inside of you every way
Baby try to rapid repeat like me
let that passionate prose spray
Bubble bounce onto me
Slinky Ricky Rhyme Time’s here to stay

I’m domesticated wild
in the groove dialed
No one’s more intricately freestyled
pushing up against surfaces travertine tiled
Screams overtaking the radio dial
I’ll be far down below near 8 mile
This white rapper is never tongue tied
Sit back and enjoy it for a while
As my textured tongue
dexterity is applied

That smell you’re smelling
That isn’t burnt toast
That’s you having a stroke
It’s not terminal you’re not going to croak
I’m the elixir for things that used to be broke
But them lame words you’ve got
All of them dissipate like smoke
They tickle a bit in my throat
but not enough to cause me to choke
I’m relaxing in this word bath
climatically enjoying my soak
rightly writing every pen stroke

Woman get yourself into my tub
I’m not just playing “Rub a Dub Dub”
What I’ve got is too big to tug
My vocabulary is a drain swirling tornado
much more potent than any drug
Out from under you I won’t pull the rug
Although my ego is supersized
I ‘m not smug
when the word play is over
I’ll comfort you with a towel and a hug!

"The world stood still, My heart in jitters..." By Poet

                                  Quiet dusk!
enjoying sunset glory in the horizon,
on an evening of sky gold,
gossamer twilight of the melting rays
                   descending on the mountaintops...
                     listen to homecoming birds
                      twittering to their mates!

                             I yearn for you,
I yearn for watching this crimson nightfall together…
I remember the holding of hands,
when our eyes met in the shimmering light of daybreak,
cascade of love sparkling in your eyes,

                           The world stood still,
                            my heart in jitters,
                         The moment felt eternal!

                                   FIRST PLACE

Quietly Watching

I’m just quietly sitting watching
Through a younger man’s eyes.
You wouldn’t know if you looked
For my brain’s there in disguise.
It’s wearing the body of one
Who’s of a much greater age,
Trying to understand how
It arrived at this stage.
I’m my mind I’m much younger,
Twenty one or even twenty two,
But these days it’s not as easy
To do things I could once easily do.
My yesterday’s have outnumbered
The tomorrow’s there are to come,
But I’ve been so lucky I suppose,
I’ve lived much longer than some.
With old age there’s an acceptance,
Each breath is just one more on the way
To the completion of a journey that
Ends with that unavoidable dying day.
So, I’m sat here enjoying my coffee
As I’m watching the world go by
And I’ve made the adjustment to
See it through an older man’s eye.
I’ll be back here tomorrow
If that’s the way that it goes ,
It’s one of those thing in life
That nobody ever knows.

Premium Member - To Deal With Demons -

Wake up in my real world
Forever condemned in dark shadows
Release the power of demons
No light ... a black nothing, bats enjoying the place
Their fangs are the tools of their lust for human flesh and blood
The demons have chosen me to give birth to their children
It is not love
Brutal rape
Chained in their power
Inferno of fire, blood, death and hell
My days are numbered
Whoever betrays the demons get to taste the whip
A nightmare twenty four hours a day
Even in my dreams, they haunt my soul
Attacked of demons I am
My psyche is completely collapsed
Find myself in a pure terror condition
I would rather want to die as soon as possible,
than to fight the demons
The animal is the Devil himself

Not saying a word to me
Or a word to you at all;
You might say my sister’s she a rappin to the walls she’s so

Such a lonely lady
Just a lonely
Sitting just sitting alone lonely
Lonely lady
Just being cute;
Lonely so only just being lonely lady just sitting mute;
Unspoken
Broken alone
Lonely
Only all so alone, alone;

Lonely lady sit down all you other girls
And dream the dream the dreams of dreams;
Alone, yes all alone sit like her all alone by oneself but don’t you dare scream;
No this isn’t a dream;

Lonely lady having no values no cares no man in her heart
Nothing seems to be there due impart;
Enjoying the view, the views

Not saying a word to me
Or a word to you at all;
You might say my sister’s she a rappin to the walls she’s so

Such a lonely lady
Just a lonely
