pain and suffering is all that I see around
though now I don’t have them to seriously confront,
yet a nameless unease weighs me down
at the sight of hundreds cruelly beaten down
how many, under eternal shackles, tied
and in poverty, want and misery bide
with their hearts burdened and body strained
with nothing to hope for and all energy drained
many are lost in the arid deserts of life
with blistering feet wading through smarting strife
failing to distinguish the oasis from the mirage
often duped by life’s well aligned montage
under a raging sun that spits fire overhead
many are scorched and fall down dead
but the river of Time that winds its weary way
doesn’t have the elixir to quench their thirst away
while so many, without even a trace of cheer
wilt and wither in dark despair
some stay in pleasure domes of dazzling sheen
with their backs turned to life’s melancholy scene
I train my mind not to withdraw into my own shell
when all around, I see misery, hatred and violence swell
how I wish my heart were the fount of gushing love
and with the olive branch of peace, soar like a dove
I wish to shed a ray of light into a heart darkened in despair
give it a momentary flash of cheer through a kind gesture
I cannot be a beacon of light to illumine all around
but can be a candle to dispel traces of gloom that surround
when I strive to take others’ cares away
and lift them from the dungeons of dismay
peace and joy in my life will surely come to stay
and procure a bliss beyond all my power to convey

In this wilderness I see Direction
where God’s truth sifts the leaves
and sings humanity’s song of Belong.
Where Alone
never leaves me empty or afraid,
where guardian energy is spoken
by the trunks, the branches, the eternal green
of these life-giving trees—
where the eyes of living beings
brighten as they reach the havens
of the love-flowing rivers—
where Pain and Purpose are both found
in a mother bear’s unwavering strength.
Where the mountains stand so brazen—
I hear the beings of the forest
speak of His genius—flocks of birds
flying in uniformity and unfathomable rhythms—
the heart of Truth is in His creation
where Love never ceases to inspire.
Let me rest where the trees upward gaze,
seeking your setting sun in the eyes of waiting night.
In Your Trust I can end the day on a drifting breeze—
in Your Trust I can fully be at blissful ease,
as You pave the paths to imminent Peace.
Windows of Poetic Winners
Are those who play and no, never quit.
In poetry, their words, to the heart are soft.
Never lifting themselves above you , alolft.
They are full of energy and never do sit.
True Friendship is in their poetic, tool kit.
Poets will read you, if you never read them.
Punishing those who don’t, is unknown to them.
Never leaving old friends with empty comment pits.
The more you give the better you feel.
But, no, I don’t value the internet over life.
Love your children, friends, husbands and wives.
Above all, just be your genuine self ~keep your
Touching words, true and real!

Your insecurities are just walls you created
Meaning only, I is holding you back
Mother earth did not come with boundaries
And God left the land to be explored and conquered
Limits are set by the minds of humanity
You created walls you believe you can't fly over or break down
You created fears you believe you can't see past
You can do anything you believe because no wall, gravity, fear, or person can stop you
You need confidence instead of I can't
You need an action plan not just a map
You have to believe in you before anyone else can too
Stay consistent
It doesn't matter how many steps you take in a day as long as you are intent on moving forward
Keep walking towards your dreams
Some days you may go backwards or take a wrong turn
Just make sure you redirect your spirit back to what you hope to achieve
Life becomes what it's meant to be when you learn to grow from the seed of history
Let your aura flow
And the art of letting go
There is no need to hang on to bad energy when you have wings to be free
p.s. so fly away into space where your dreams waiting...
My cocoon tightens –colors tease
I am feeling for the air
A dim capacity for wings
Demeans the dress I wear
1099 - Emily Dickinson
Butterfly- A Glosa
My potential, held in a chrysalis,
I hide within a shadowed niche,
safe from mischief and the curious,
time stands still for my strange seed.
Buds of my wings, flimsy as flowers,
grow from leaf nectar with ease.
In grub miasma I am geometry concealed;
a rainbow of speckles
secretly forming in tiny degrees.
My cocoon tightens- colors tease.
Outside a gentle, scented atmosphere,
stirs memories of my once, segmented self,
sucked to wind tossed leaves, green
of their green, protected by dapple;
a puzzle of leafy camouflage.
I gorged there, naked and bare,
then wove around me a fine cocoon,
I was the spinner, and the loom,
quietly suspended now I must dare.
I am feeling for the air.
I am feeling for the sun,
cell by cell, a squeezing permutation
diligently shedding grub matter.
A framework, a pattern, a nectar tongue
coiled for long throats of flowers to come,
poised for pastoral whisperings
I struggle to unfold.
A magic, a beauty stunningly brief,
I hold, like all mystical things,
a dim capacity for wings.
My feelers, living dopplers’ vibrate
I shimmer, transparent gossamer.
I gather energy, I tremble for flight,
I tumble with garden blest wings.
A brief portrayal of immortal life,
is part of the nature I bear.
I flitter, I flutter I seem to be aimless,
a symbol of ever-returning things.
Only the fragile and delicate flower,
demeans the dress I wear.

You have spent so much energy and time
Trying to see, follow, harass and be me
You have forgotten to be you
We run from you
Because there is something so powerfully off
We are fearful
You might have an assault rifle
We would not be surprised
Your behavior has alarmed many
Please know that we are all aware
Which does not make you
Any less scary
This obsession you have to
Follow me, harass me, badger me, bully me
Is truly frightening
Assuring me that you are capable of much more
I have given you social cues, but you are not getting them
Your obsession with me overriding any socialization skills you might have once had
Please remember to be you
And leave me alone
For once.
Granules of recollection rub like salt
Flailing in the fog of seven years ago
Deafened by incessant frog cries
Vines dangling began attaching to each other
Drying river stagnated, slime slippery with algae
Vigorous tree growth stooped in defeat
Muddy river banks fixed my feet, prisoners
Quick sand sapped my energy, ate my memories
Spears of bygone javelin my lungs, make gasp
Emerging from the mist of six years ago
Mountain side incredibly steep left me breathless
Static crinkle hissed between my eardrums
Channels flip changed without my inference
Hard luck hollowing trunks of high altitude
Offered to swallow my past, kindly include present
Flattened cushions of childhood fights , bring distance
Spinning cartwheels into oblivion of five years ago
Faintly flickering home movies startle between grins
Marbled images depict how we were, junctions punctured
Paths deviated, split decisions, moments distilled
Bottles broken, options poured, down the sink
Faltering swell glimmers foaming overdrawn fantasies
Slices rewound reflect fleeting of four years ago
Head barely above, awash in nonsense, victim of tides
Pushed under and pulled above, or is it more apt
the other way 'round, heavy, ocean surrounds drowns
Pencil case zipper obediently conceals, shoved down
Fragmented fragrant shavings of three years ago
Greyed erasers took too much, left the wrong stuff
Coloured stubs refuse to function, shrink upon prompting
Mirror tells me glamour remains against toughest test
High eyebrows, pristine lip lustre of two years ago
Marilyn wink in the blink of camera, busy filtering truth
Tree hugging Boho took over, appealed to populus ideal
Cocaine sand between toasted toes, garland encircling forehead
Currently I'm languishing in roses
bestowed by crown of thorns

Cracker jack energy spit spot spit spot!
Jumping me awake
Energized, eager, energy galore.
I wake up to cartwheels, giggles and spins.
Open one eye and catch a half pirouette jump
Off the bed onto the dresser? Giggle, giggle.
Cracker jack energy spit spot spit spot!
A happy face shadows mine.
My eyes flash open.
I am looking into the eyes of two sprites.
No one should be this happy in the morning.
It is their M.O.
They are glad to be alive!
Glad I am their Mom. Giggle. Giggle.
Cracker jack energy spit spot spit spot!
My arms slowly rise up, and I yawn.
They see my traitorous mouth begin its upward corner dance.
I cannot help it! They are in my face, grinning like Cheshire Cat’s mama!
No one should be this pleased to be awoken at 5:30 a.m. but I am.
Because they are my world.
My life, my purpose, my mission, my boys.
Spit spot! Spit spot!
I jump up and race for the bathroom.
Two giggling boys right behind me.
I have not been in the bathroom alone
For four or five years.
No worries.
