Premium Member The Nuns and the Red Balloon

Excitement, such excitement as we entered single file
We had all been summoned
                                      to the empty conference room
Sister Mary Grace had led the way to switch the lights

All at once, we saw what was to be a big surprise

Centered in the room, a film projector standing tall
       Sister Genevieve sat down to helm the old machine

A welcome interlude to break the boredom of the day
We learned the 5th grade class was sent to see
                                                        “The Red Balloon”
We quickly stirred to take our seats,
hushed by mortal fear
               when we realized who was just about to speak

Sister Ann Marie, Head Mother, cautioned our high spirits
         taking her seat as the lights were dimmed again

As our makeshift cinema began to entertain,
   enthralled were we to join in the adventures on display

For those who know. “The Red Balloon” and
         understand its charm, it’s easy to see why this day
remains so clear

For those who’ve not yet had the chance,
                                                     it’s still a lovely film
Full of love and life and even just a touch of magic,
                                                                it captivates

Breakfast For Squids

Oooooooh bagels and bread by golly
Rumors and ramekins, fools folly
This attitude aggregious
But a knick knack fecicious
Hold a tick, did you say napkins?
Not for glass jars and captains
A twist off jammed and stuck in a rut
Threads on a screw doing all the scut
A nail has it easy
All smooth and goes in easy
But time and hammer gave a chance
As long as it was done in baggy pants
So a squid with a quiver
Full of arrows did deliver
Down the narrows did they float
But on a paddle not a boat
So he ate his breakfast fast
And wiped the ink off from a blast
Broke open the container
It's no crazier than saner
Built the shelter speedily
With headphones on greedily
Balanced atop a wooden oar
A raft, no no, just such a bore
Not very analytical
But we won't become political
Since it was a higher ranking tenticle
Who made the inky wooden popsicle
A little poem nonsensical
Where sense is reprehensible

Humble B Bumble - 33 - Bee Happy

Bee Happy

With Blondebee Humble was always searching,
Forever looking for the answers;
But with Bee Bee it was easy learning,
He already knew she was his enchantress.

At last Humble knew what it was to bee loved.
Bee Bee, he knew, was truly good.
Life seemed so easy now with her heart.
He couldn’t beelieve the struggle had been so hard.

Every day they grew with each other.
First came the kiss and now they were lovers.
Forever bound to love eternal.
Epics would bee written in endless journals.

Humble wrote poetry; Bee Bee wrote stories.
Each of them spoke of despair and glories.
They loved to tell tales and in each other found home.
They were two parts of one heart; no longer alone.

Their journey together had just beegun,
But already had passed many moon’s and sun’s,
And at the end of each day they lay together.
They fell asleep holding hands, like his father and mother.

Humble thought back to when he had first thought about love.
Never beelieving it could bee so good,
But at last he had found what his parents had.
In Bee Bee he had found a love that he knew would last.

I’m a southpaw,
one of those left-handed,
upside down,
have to curl my arm to write,
backwards individuals,
liv’in-the-left-life
in a right-handed world.

Think It’s easy, e.g.,
being a leftie?
Think again...
we’re out of place at dinners,
have to master backwards scissors,
built specifically for righties and
we are forced to learn everything, in reverse.

We wear permanent spiral wire imprints
on our left arm from trying to pen
our feelings into a right-handed
spiral-bound notebook.
One day, I decided to break the rules
and now all of my journals are written
back-to-front, blowing busybody minds.

Forget writing calligraphy,
a left-handed, oblique set of pen nibs
costs twice what the right-handed ones do
and they are about as elusive as garden gnomes;
what, you don’t believe me?
Try to find a set, I dare ya!
I’ll bet there’s not a store in your town
that stocks them, even though lefties
exist in huge numbers.
I spent 20 years trying to do calligraphy
with a right-handed, oblique pen;
(thank God for the web or
I’d never have found a set.)

In parochial school,
the nuns forced me to
turn my paper to the right;
now I am a half ambidextrous leftie.
This did not set well with my Mother
who wanted me to be the individual that I
was born to be...a leftie.
So, I turn my paper to the right, alright,
curl my arm into a question mark and
write upside down.
but , I play a right-handed guitar.

Premium Member Famished Star

Fine rhythm in the walls so delicate
softly wrapping you in harmonious;
Your soft humming echoes the sentiment,
gaining momentum will it touch famous?

A cascade of sound bounces all around,
gone hysterics it will surely incite;
When sanity is lost lyrics are found,
opulence flows winding you up so tight;

Mad doors of the mind are not translucent,
it’s murky message drowns without a drum;
One slam and then another so violent,
until you spin into a spark and strum;

Dappled beginnings the dawn of remix,
will lead to an Earth shattering fusion;
This implementation of well known tricks
draws youthful crowds to ancient addiction;

The soul of the auditorium quakes,
curtains of limelight and a quiver dance;
Famished star possesses the gall it takes
to always make a most stellar entrance;

Air whirring thrown up like a tornado,
a new dance the tinkercat arachnid;
It’s such a vibe and so easy to do;
Eight legs and a rhythm’s all you need kid;

Dance, just go with it never mechanized;
Let yourself lose it in this energy,
predatory art’s always strategized;
Supernova’s what icons aim to be;

Upended and moving in four by four time
coming in at three hundred miles per hour;
Secret’s how tempo can turn on a dime,
the one with mic control’s got the power;

Laser light show surrounding every word,
ambiance sweetens that cherry on top;
If you’re the buzz than he’s the songbird;
Straight gas no brakes no time for a pitstop;

Famished star devours and pulls you in,
all night encore OD on that music!
Exploring a headspace you’ve never been,
that fine rhythm in the walls pneumatic.

My Space

There are so many things I want to say but unable to find the words that would end this conflict that I have going on with myself. I have pondered this dilemma for some time now and yet as good as I thought I was at getting my message across or expressing my feelings I am at a total loss. To me , right now , is the most important issue in my life. Trying so desperately not to be a burden or bring any more problems into your already overwhelming world.I find myself completely at the mercy of the moment.
  Truly the last , I mean the very last thing I would ever want to do is to create a situation that would crowd you push you into a moment of frustration due to my personal issues. With all there is of me I am trying to adjust , trying to understand , fit in , be accepted , just a few to mention .My feelings and emotions seem to be my most difficult to deal with . my strength of who I was and who I am seem to waiver with a weakness caused by so many battles life has fed me . Not being any one issue but an onset of many. More then I was able to cope with . Although I am still here , grasping at the ground I am standing on. It's not easy admitting ones mistakes , faults , or failures.Humbling to the point of being frayed and loose at the seams. Like being on the edge of a total melt down.
  These words I struggle to find are there right at the tip of my sanity and feel if I do not find them soon all will be lost.Just the worst case scenario I can imagine . My heart so true , my life so real , my dreams , hopes and desires forever remain the same . It's just me , me alone doing all I can to understand what must be understood. Seeking the key to this very moment in time that will make it all good and right with the world and my surroundings .Needless to say more. Just wanting the opportunity and the time to pull it all together so to be the person who I know i am . Just not quite found .
  Sincerely I am trying. I will stumble and I will make mistakes . But I believe with the help of those that do understand I will reach the space in this life I was meant to be in .

Day Dreamin

As I turn around a blue bird hums a song
Of beauty for all to hear and enjoy
It cheers the dreamer that sings along
Oh what can it mean to be so full of joy?

There is no darkness around to cry over
And the shadows of life have gone a dew
Only a world of happiness lives forever
And tears are ever counted as a few.

What can it mean to day dream and be free
Just to hear those melodies of happy cheer
I kept on thinking what am I doing that I can’t see
Then I said “goodbye to all that I know and fear.”

Hey! Then mercy to the band that plays
Listen to the gang and understand the sound
It is too easy to hear the bird that prays
We were born to search for replies unfound.

Someway somehow time goes on without fate
It was only yesterday that life was new
How I remember when answers were first rate
Maybe it is just another pleasant view.

I looked back to see if the blue bird still sang
And saw that he had flown away
His beautiful song left a mark that ever rang
It was six o’clock and time ended for the day.

Obligatory Phrases

revealed obligatory phrases turn out of tone
a deafening roar cascades in to the abyss
purging spectral visions barred from presenting
all in the name of truth yet never to behold
perspective lends credence but believed not so
easy to ride the train when it leaves the station
side tracking onto no where takes guts of
steel girders not withstanding the hastened
presence of crystallized thought...delicate
sounds issued, undeniable death roll of motion
hedged bets...the gods played a good game again
icing down the planet...the timing is understood
as everything expresses as part of the whole...
agreed upon or just fate?
