S hadows of angst cloak my restless dayS
E very time burdens deny my very essencE…
L ifeless, moonglow drowns while I crawL, growL
F reezing on alleys like a neglected waiF.
A lone , palms reach out for heaven’s mannA,
C losing my eyes now…I envision a divine arC;
T inted with light where this soul finds resT
U ntil heaven wafts, “ cherish all that is yoU…”
A flamed epiphany rouses my inner aurA
L earning once more the power of the SelF,
I nfinitely bound, O yes, the child within and I…
Z ealously , these feet begin to tap, to waltZ
A s one dance of love trills a newfound ariA :
T ill all buds unfurl through a wishful hearT
I gniting a pure star, a rare gift from the Magi…
O n such glorious night, I chant HellO, HellO!
N evermore a pale heart, this life is my owN.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
as twilight beckons
my pen etches hard, it's ink
scribbling depth of thoughts...
yet, notes fail against high marks
till one honors this song's flight

Sensationally super, and Sagittarius son of John Spence
Pleasantly personable, and matriarch Maud Spence’s son
Enabling, exquisite, eloquent, evolving and enterprising
Naturally nice, no nonsense, and a nutritionist nobleman
Carrot consumer, constant comrade and cold-war veteran
Equitably enlightened, and just an elegant eggnog taster
Jumping Jupiter, a jubilant sundae lover, and just a jewel!
Comments: During my twenty plus years of military service I was always called
Spence, J. That's just the way the government does business. This acrostic is
about Spence, J. It's crafted on a combination of alliteration, assonance and
consonance sounding words. Eggnog at Christmas is my favorite. Having a
Sunday afternoon sundae at the ice cream parlor is oh so tasty. Wow! I just love
it!!! Anyway, here are some comments on writing an acrostic. The basic acrostic
poem is formed by writing a word vertically down the page, which may also be
the topic of the poem. It’s recommended to use one letter per line, and the
beginning letters should be all capital ones. Each line of the poem should begin
with the letter on that line and the line should pertain to the word or title being
used. Some may recommend using one word or a phrase which does not have
to rhyme; however, one may move beyond the basic acrostic form and use a
complete thought with a rhyming sequence. It’s also recommended to use
adjectives and phrases that describe the word or subject of the acrostic. Finally,
one may take the quantum leap and write a double acrostic where the first and
last letters of each line are the same.

God, the Lord, reigns* graciously omnipotent
Offering willingly His compassion-wealth
Directing hearts toward His joyous peace…
Redeemer of souls, granting life eternal
Empowering salvation of assurance-echo
Illumining minds against falsity’s blur
Guarding with truths, biblically sound
Nurturing faith against doubt-sink
Satisfying spirits upon contentment gain…
Forever, the Almighty prevails, loving us so
Opening to us heaven along blessings’ flow
Restoring our lives with forgiveness bliss…
Enabling faithful stewardship of trust-climb
Verily upholding us by His omniscience
Everlasting is His might, securing all of His…
Resting in His grace, we thank Him Who knows best.
*Revelation 19:6 … Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

Indeed no toil, nor anguish, can tear me apart
Neither triumph or loss, on earth, shall spoil me so
Jesus is my rock, my shield, he guards my being
E ven sin is powerless, adversity nought, for lo
Surrender I, heart and soul, and strive for good
United in one body, blessed by his empty tomb
Sweet like a child, my spirit shall rejoice
No despair, nor failure, can turn me from christ
Ascribe praise, marvel at his goodness and truth
Make me your humble servant, to evangelise
Ever may I dwell in his house, grace willing
Almighty king, who's name casts out evil
Model me as a vessel, may Christs' life echo
Early shall I rise to greet thee through prayer
Nurture then my faith, to bear the fruits of joy

Tempest hits hard in the depth of darkness
Rocks the tormented life’s directionless boat
Hope holds the tattered sails upright
The ordained voyage assigned I’ll surely finish
As God shows me the divine beacon of light
I’ll navigate across the rough tossing sea
Never losing faith in His guiding grace
I’ll reach the shore gleaming in hues of heaven
Kindle humbly in mind the candle of gratitude
With heart filled with bliss, it’s Him I’ll thank
So much for suffusing me with boundless blessings
Until the time to depart for the new abode arrives.

Disciplined in doing God's will is the dedicated disciple*
Imparted with wisdom toward prudent influence
Striving to be like His Master according to Scriptures
Compassionate and caring through Christ's clemency
Instilled with virtues by the Holy Spirit's illumination
Prayerful, faith-propped upon the Providence power
Led with love while learning and living in the Lord's light
Enabled to exemplify the Master's service-excellence.
*Luke 14:27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

"Double Acrostic"
Sweet sounds of every day enriching the life
Empty dark lucky enough into your lights
Life looks in the mirror at its crimson strife
Feeling within how the stars getting bright
As I walk in the garden looking for your window
Curious to collect the crystals from your braid
Towards a home in pomegranate that I know
Unable if I am to make it, I’ll lose the cool shade
An amazing struggle between two colored sparks
Lovely corridors into the world of your red roses
In the lightning and laughter that defy the dark
Zeal absolute for the shaft of light that discloses
An arrival at self designed patterns of joy in love
The words aplenty to speak in a voice of poetry
Intensely waiting inside the golden trophy cup
Of tomorrow, your pleasant trellises look at me
Nice construction and deconstruction, this life

Many maleficent moments of misuse and malcontent left me
Yearning. Lonely, I was searching, lusting for fatherhood in the wrong arms.
Attractive, alluring you found me appealing. You changed me!
Delighted, my dream finally came to fruition. We had our first daughter.
Dedicated, devoted in this reality, finally, no longer just a dream.
Incredibly, i'm am now the father of two.
Conditional love, captivated by the gift of procreation. I am blessed.
Tactful, no longer full of transgression I am tough but triumphant
I am your father, your hero the one you can depend on, always.
Overjoyed, the happiest I've ever been. I am blessed and in
Nirvana.
