Then what to his wand'ring blund'ring eye should appear
A comely young lass willing to spread dread and fear
Even much better's she married much older
"All the better to see you my Dear and be bolder.
I delight in the fright and things will be dandy.
If it will be spread by some winsome eye candy."

All the while this Grinch swallows and wallows in pardon
While he plays DJ where the roses were gardened
You can hear 'midst the din, hue and cry in the land
But this is the guy who now picks the bands
That will be centering all our attention
There will be no mention of any dissension
Because Sinterclause cows the Press and the Right
"Merry Xmas to all", unless we say, "Good night!"

I drove down the boulevard as I did a thousand other times
Passing by the aged blue-gray house - the bachelor's pad across the street
Hunkered down like storm clouds in a mist of yesterday's legacy
And there he stood....the soulful captive, haunting his past
Black pants with hips flung to the side and held low by his own design
His stance altered the walkway like a steel girder posted upright
His boundless laugh seized the spotlight then scattered like wind chimes
Embracing a sweeter, livelier time before he slipped away
I pulled over to the side of the road to let my illusion wander
Sitting crippled in my car - his entranced prisoner

Pulling in the stardust memories of heading down the artists highway
Driving in his cherry red rock-n-roll car his guitar in the back seat
Where his expression, his music lived in vivid hues of youth
Startling the stage with words of rebellion
Becoming the cause of all the commotion

He challenged his crusade with the heat of revolution
His list was his own, his sequence bore his own evolution
Disobedience for the sake of itself scrolled on his flirting brow
Teasing each consequence with the audacity of sunflowers in the snow
Life was struck as a downer and he a loner
Whose heart yearned for the lyrics to sanctify his "hell on earth" anthems
A hungry wolf in a pack of sheep, growling at his own shadow
Licking the wounds of his notched dissatisfaction
Unable to disguise his truth to fit into his abstract woolly landscape

Always coiled up to the max of his amplified intensity
With his super jet speed brooding melodies
His cool blue eyes, his ocean vastness, his sky all reflected things in motion
All headed down the Pacific Highway in a finned Batman 60's Buick
Colliding with the universe

And memorializing his words of hard and lonely places
Pounding and throbbing with the sounds of his guitar
I drifted back
Losing this poltergeist of the past, this shadowy myth
This specter of a defiant paradox of love and hate.....

As the melody faded I embarked back to my journey
Riding down the boulevard - He in the seat next to me

On a Windless Night

On a windless night
when rivers silently roll in dimlight;
the leaves whisper secrets
that clearly say,
"A farewell kiss
can't make a goodbye,
if love has resistance
to live on for more nights!"

Life may keep us down
for the dissatisfaction
of us dreamers,
who love on a windless night...
escaping the unwanted light!
The hugs of us lovers
have the warmth of the breeze;
our joyful looks bring more easiness
to our freed souls...
on a windless night!

Our untroubled minds
aren't absent in joy or feelings
to join our close bodies;
they don't seem too busy
to worry about things...
we like to keep from our long dreams!

On a windless night
when rivers silently roll in dimlight...
and loving seems the only
and right thing to do,
because no one loves me
 like you really do!

Fear

So consumed by the feeling
Nothing about this is healing
Mind so full of unknowns
The rest of your being groans
Thumping head pain from every direction
Thoughts go in the wrong trajection
Spinning with the worst case scenarios
Hearing nothing from the stereos
The only thing heard is the voice inside
Horrible thoughts must subside
Every eventuality portrayed
Only the mind that betrayed
No clear thought or positivity
Just reminders of probability
So much could go upside down
Stress and anxiety forcing me to drown
The weight of the world on the shoulders
Straight ahead are massive boulders
No way to skirt around
Only one way is mountain bound
Legs dragging with every step
Trying to focus not to misstep
Fear controlling every action
Every option is dissatisfaction
Fear is the one in control
Fear has stolen my soul

where in the World

Where in the world does satisfaction dwell?
Tempt a poor with money once.
He will let out such a wail
Dissatisfied faces gather in a bunch.

I witnessed those drowned in greed
Ones I believed were a symbol of sanctity.
Though terrified to question their creed
Yet I know without desires exist no entity.

I stumbled one day in a forest
When looked up, displayed a competition.
Trees shot toward the sun, leaving behind the rest
They stifle, subjugate and obstruct without hesitation.

Rivers yet are quite manipulating
They carve a compelling story
Once acknowledged as calmed, now invading
Eroded, shoveled and marked its territory.

The Troublist the Trubblalyst

talking bout stuff
I don't know about
You wanna be the only one
who knows whats going on
I don't know nothing bout being married
don't know knowing bout being loved
affa' all you the won who caused
this dissatisfaction
you the one who caused this distian
I refuse to realm out in dismeaning
I refuse to learn the rules of yo game

I ain't got no Kids!
I ain't got no wife
I ain't never been in love
Don't know what that is
You done made so
I'll never know what love is!

Causing this confusion
standing round like your concerned
troublemaking like a woman
everyday it's a lesson learned
I ain't never been able to prove it was you
did such and such
Somebody you told it to
will help me out on luck

One day yo' wicked weary soul
will take a turn to confess
making light of loving
you will confess
if the only one is loving is you
people know somethings wrong
regulating who gets who
ya'll know that is wrong

Here With You

June 27, 2015

I wish I knew what I should never know
As I fantasize impossible dream come trues
Setting myself up for disappointment
And still hoping for the sake of temporary enjoyment
Here with you—shuddering sorrow creeps…

Here with you, suddenly I miss you more than I can bear
How you effortlessly take me high, then drop me
I miss the excitement of “I-can-lose-it-all” . . .
Walking on coals with the flames long put out
My feet cagily walking upon the black dust of your placid presence
The premonition of thought without you
The tortuous dissatisfaction as I picture “what-could-be”
I hate it. . . .but . . .I don’t. Want. You. Here. . . .

Though once you are gone, I will hate myself again
That is what I fear

Some things never change at all . . .

While I am here. . .here with you,
Try to imagine my side
Try to picture for a moment “what could be”
And how much I just want you close to me. . .

There was a cloud hung over him
a presence, an impending doom.
He seemed one lightning strike away
from enlightenment - or entombment.
Haunted by the stigma of divine dissatisfaction
a wanderer in a spiritual maelstrom
questioning the questions of the questioners,
thinking on the thoughts of the thinkers,
worshiping at the edges of heresy,
praying for the efficacy of his prayers.
Hidden in the silence of life’s tomb
innocence interred beneath this “cloud”.

The sun never shone, the rain never fell,
on the unrighteousness of the righteous.

Wow—is the word!
You are something most surprising
I can feel you boiling in my blood
Waiting, trusting in that torrent
Of psychic union and revelation

You lock eyes with me—
They are blue, love-stricken, wild
I am pleasantly frightened
And comforted all at once!
Somewhere in your stare
You have managed to caress my soul
You have masterfully,
Grabbed hold…
Of all that is me—
This red force of obduration
This imprisoned fool I am…
Fretting at every given moment
In my vulnerability - how is it?
How is it that you know,
That you know our future is strong?
You just know,
This fiery….greed,
These flaws that shame me
Somehow you know this fear in me!
And everything you know,
You will see
You will acceptingly see

You first doused me with glittery lust
Steam and gleam in your keen pupils
In your gaping lips,
In your smooth-trodden truths,
I weaken in your words

You flow me out of my element,
As you pin me to the bed of dreams
You are an opulent ocean
Deep depths I know not!
I am merely a sliver of light
Becoming something solid in your grasp
Crystalline nerves melting in your knowing hands

Where is your surrender?
You ask me, in silence

I am your ball of glowing fervor
About to burst in your psychedelic waves
You are turning and turning
You are feeling me
You are feeling all my feelings!
That I try so desperately to conceal

Dissatisfaction and longing you recognize
In my volcanic hindrance
Your waters heave patience
You calm—you tear up
My fears hold me back,
And you want me to free them
This struggle is our beauty—
Is part of our art

And in you, in your rest
You salvage all the love we can muster
You remember all our moments
Fueling your empathic currents
Holding me close to your heaving tides
In a heartfelt flood of understanding

There's protest in my praying

there's protest in my praying
a defiance that keeps playing
I raise objections when I talk to Father God
about the dissatisfaction within my heart

I remonstrate I demonstrate
I tell God how I feel
I speak from places of pain
that I need Him to heal
I protest about my circumstances
and my situation
I challenged Him to perform
a godly reformation

there's protests in my praying
and like Moses was, I'm unsure
that what God desires from me
I don't know if I can speak for

I remonstrate, I demonstrate
I tell God how I feel
I speak from places of pain
that I need Him to heal
I protest about my circumstances
and my situation
I challenge Him to perform
a godly reformation

I need God to respond to my words, my needs
and my desires
I need Him to put into place
that which will have me inspired
so that I can become the best me
that I can possibly be
for God to mold me, to enfold me
and recreate my destiny

and like Hannah who fiercely desired a son
she prayed in protest until the deed was done

I remonstrate I demonstrate
I tell God how I feel
I speak from places of pain
that I need Him to heal
I protest about my circumstances
and my situation
I challenge Him to perform
a godly reformation

and like those two midwives who refused
to kill little boys
they prayed in protest until
God's might was deployed

I remonstrate, I demonstrate
I tell God how I feel
I speak from places of pain
That I need Him to heal
.
I raised objections when I talked to God
and He addressed the dissatisfaction
that was in my heart

I no longer remonstrate
I no longer demonstrate
God now knows how I feel
He's taken away my pain
and me He's now healed
No more protests about my circumstances
nor my situation
for God has performed on me
a Godly reformation

God responded to my words, my needs
my wants and my desires
He's molded me and enfolded me
and in true faith, I'm now inspired
