Pennies Into Gold

Be weary of such worldly gain as to receive your reward here
To live your whole life in vain in never being able to see clear
The money itself is not the evil but in turn what it does to you
In never being able to get your fill since none of it is at all true

If anything it will be a distraction and one more reason to worry
The root of all your dissatisfaction in making you quick to bury
It will completely tie you down and will bound and gag you too
Bowing down before your crown it's now telling you what to do

Surely money is necessary and many have harnessed it for good
It's not going to set you free and that's what must be understood
For the part you give away and for everything you are able to do
That is that part that will stay as is the picture that Our Lord drew

Even in the giving of it that money it comes back many times fold
For I must tell and so admit the Lord turns those pennies into gold
Yet take not my word but begin yourself in doing something new
And soon shall you concur giving you so much more than was due
