Premium Member Thru Maritime Miles 8-A Pirate's Plea Considered

Dear Davey, my darling, my bright pirate boy
Your lips are the prize in the night of my joy
Your eyes can erase me or teach me the cure
Of how you can face me by all you endure

Your sigh is the sign of a man who is lost
A why on the line of a ban that you crossed
The cry of goodbye is the fear that you face
A try to get by with a beer you displace

Your math is confused by the lies in your good
The path you abused by the why’s in your should
The man in your head is the boy in your heart
Who flies on ahead for the joy on his part

The stop what you do is the pause that you need
The matter of two is the cause you should heed
Your joy is undone by the impulse to cheat
By raising your pulse for the sake of your beat

The glad if you could is the act you withstood
The had you been good for the fact that you should
The ship that you bossed with our dime in the bank
Is something you lost in the time that it sank

The romance we shared is the one that you sought
The dance that we dared for the fun that is not
The flip in our fortune was done by your hand
The dip in our portion you won for the band

Dear Davey, my dear one, my pride and my joy
The thrill of your lip is the side you employ
The hill we must climb is no tall mountain peak
But merely a time to be all that you seek

The strength you must find is the will to be true
The length of your life on a hill just for you
The tally you score is the streak you begin
By which you may soar to the peak of a win

To do what you can is fulfilling and right
To prove you're a man who is willing to fight
The courage to care is the best way to find
The urge that is there to be honest and kind

The values we choose are the dues of success
The virtues we use in the blues we address
Your love is the news that will lead me to find
The load that I lose when I need to unwind

How long I have waited for someone like you
And yet I was dated by men who withdrew
The lady you mated is now in control
By how she has gated the heart that is full

Dear Davey, my pirate, my sweet honeycake
Your love in my life is no feat of mistake
Your lip is my trip on an ocean of blue
The reason I flip with emotion for you.

Rain Forests

RAIN FORESTS
 by
JOHN M. ARRIBAS

When I consult my pillow each night
The question is how to solve this planet’s plight
I’ve narrowed it down to a fork in the road
Take the left, utter destruction full overload
Take the right, prepare to take drastic action
Need to reduce the populace to a mere fraction

The left will allow us to proceed to the end
With little or no resources left to spend
The right will require rigid limitation
Of the worlds ever burgeoning population
We’ve poisoned the rivers and smallest rill
Contaminated the soil with chemical spill

Made places unliveable with hazardous waste
Treated the water altering its color and taste
We dump raw sewage into the ocean
To the struggling marine life a fatal potion
Mismanaged ventures exploring the flora
Has brought us viruses, hiv and ebola

We cut down the rainforest in the amazon
In a hundred years it will all be gone
Populations will continue to rise
So will sea level no great surprise
Two feet of ocean rise will surely displace
A billion members of the human race

It’s a given fact that we cant deny
Each human displaced will cause two to die
There will be chaos and hungering strife
Millions slaughtered seeking a new life
There is a trend easy to recognize
Fauna is disappearing according to size

Rainforests(2)

Dinosaurs were the first then pachyderms
Elephants, lions, tigers and giant earthworms
It should be easy to draw the line
Can the *****sapiens be far behind
Did I mention that every year
Inches of topsoil disappear

The world will face incredible need
Shrinking crops yet more mouths to feed
There is only one way mankind survives
Reduce the populations by billions of lives
Eventually governments will put niceties aside
Conducting programs including mass genocide

Nations will conspire in covert compliance
Eliminating each other in open defiance
No need to employ weapons of mass destruction
Dispatched germs and viruses will do the reduction
Privileged groups will have access to vaccines
The rest will vanish in unending streams

While the thinning is in its many stages
We’ll call this time “the new dark ages”

Premium Member Three Teeth

three incisor teeth burst through fresh flesh...
opaque as pearls, strong as love, precious

beautiful baby babbles assertively
mesmerized by mishmash sounds
that her astounding mouth can make
prose poetry in its practice

as canines erupt, she moans from the ache
teeter-tottering restless to repress pain
speedily advancing in substantial strength
distracted by oblivious destructiveness

a significant stepping stone approaches
as a capable kindergarten adult
she wiggles loose her first baby tooth
receives a rich reward from a fantasy fairy

more teeth disappear like pressed piano keys
then return acutely out of tune
braces displace awkward half grins
an investment of finances and adolescence

unstoppable with seducing sweets
she sneaks cuddly candy under covers
falling asleep with sugar plum dreams
not counting a few costly cavities

free-spirited, experimental teen
meets Christina on the street
samples compelling quartz crystal
returns for seconds, as someone else disguised

mesmerized by mishmash sounds
that her astounding mouth can make
speedily advancing in substantial strength
she lucently levitates to a loftier place

a magnificent mind babbles assertively
sweeping the streets of pixie dust
no need to eat or sleep
like a firefly in heat, she dances frantically

teeter-tottering restless to repress pain
distracted by oblivious destructiveness
she visualizes voices that vivify the way
to the day's salacious survival guide

prismic vision's shimmers no longer satisfy
cotton candy granules' sweetness subsides
coming down from kaleidoscopic clouds
half-awake, she moans from the ache

shrill shrieks portray poetry's unspoken pain
death's drab projection is her heartless reflection
hocking heirlooms to trade for a transient thrill
a despondent inhabitant of tragedy

creepy crawlers invade every inch of skin
her thin figure balances a skull's shadow
irretrievable, ill-treated teeth crumble
like the city's plundered storefront windows

filthy, for granted, forlorn, fast-fading
...three feeble canine teeth remain

Images

The picture faded like the past she made. Embers crumbled in the flames. Smoke curled above the empty photograph in a smoldering state She grasped for the present but the flames burned her thoughts as she recalled the date
Her mind was racing with prolific confusions she tried to displace.tears welled in her eyes and fell like rain. Hopelessness and fear clouded her Mind in an open book she reserved for places she envisioned. encompassed her like at tight hug.the stench of smoke clouded her brain like foggy higway to the sky.she recalled a time broken and jaded a spade of a dagger pierced the space where her thoughts once dwelled.dead spiritsi in pictures she imagined nothing but shades of gray hues. The remains of a corpse burned an image in her memories.in the midst of pain her scorched her body with the shadow of death she imagined.brick by brick stone by stone the fire in her heart scorthed the wall around her darkest fears captivated a wall she built and down in her hear tshe felt loney. The fallen water. Cleansed a lingering cloud of darkness. Words she whispered slammed up against her body rain fell off her lips . The water slowly poured vivacious. Broken bricks fallen stones. History continued to migrate memories that turned into ashes.clouds drifted above reels kept turning images in her mind. Ashes laid smoldering. Until they eventually died. Memories told a secret she hid in the darkest parts of her mind. The paper illustrated pictures and stories of glass houses. Crows hovered as her broken spirit mirrored charred images of her uncertainty and the face of a stranger broke a barrier she once had In her past. She sifted through thoughts like a racing facet of water. The wind storm dancing. With eyes welled. She found a brick picked it up a brick picked prayed to God that she could rebuild the wallof her dreams snap a new photograph. Splicesplice a better story. She built the wall and a well the capture the waters that ran down her face

Button-Coins

Across from the ancient building,
Overview of the roadside park,
Modern day mega-mall,
Chocolate delight.
All one can eat.
Competition stands mighty & real against the retail shop of day old jelly beans,
Mom & pop's candy store just drifting away 'in the used to be.'
Cobwebs covered the peppermint stick's glass displace,
Hiding the children's dirty hand-prints.
Man & woman happily in their golden years of marriage.
Opened their heart's desire in the teens with just a vision of lollipop dreams.
Remembering the flooded of little feet invading the inner halls.
Forcefully waving money into their face.
"I want this & that & what's ever left!"
Now just a wondering hope thought swept into the wind yesteryears.
Hearts of two,
Embracing encourage of one,
Not to fall into sadness.
"Life truly has been good, after all!"
They look one final glimpse overseas of the outside path,
Little girl's cheek pressed gently upon the window store.
They smile,
Their best customer yet.
She quickly dash within,
"See what grand mom gave me?"
"20 dollars of my favorite, please!"
They mull in rescued hope.
"Sorry, we cannot do that. All your gift on gum drops?"
Small look of no better,
"You took my button-coins, you can take my 20."
Faith revives the one heart.
Than mad rush,
Swinging door.
Little boy older,
"Are you crazy, sis!"
"Two for one sell over there!"
Stood firm in littleness,
"I don't care! they been good to me & too YOOOOOUUUUU!"
"And I kept our secret, I never told!"
He handed over his 20,
Saying in pondering frown,
"This is all the times that I stolen. Little sis was hungry for sweets. Mom alone,
dad left, she cries, because we cannot have the best."
Two grands beaming joy in silent weep,
"We know. Please, take it back."
Warful stare from smallness sis.
"No. It's okay. besides she will share."
"Remember what mom said to me, now it your turn, so there!"
Smiling redeemed for the future to become.

Manhattan Soliloquy

Manhattan Soliloquy

...dedicated to Hart Crane (1899-1932)

As I dream the sounds of morning sliver,
cut my senses; slow, persistent slices
pierce my eyes to ragged wakefulness.
The muffled cries of merchant hustle and
the honking of the traffic, the noises of
a summer's day displace my reveries.

I wake, and through my window I see
barges in the harbour, bustling like
beetles, scuttling over busy waters,
dragging ships with overflowing cargoes
safe to rest - the dockhands primed
and ready to disgorge the merchandise,

as sunshine washes monoliths of steel
and glass in dazzling refinement - Manhattan
like a mass of golden bars, smoldering and tall.
Steam and smoke engulf a vibrant scene

encompassing, then drifting into nothingness,
the sky a blazing blue, the docks a maze
of rarified activity as yelling fills the air.

Beams irradiate my garret - drafts of bright
and humid air like punches in the stomach
take the breath out of my lungs and leave me
gasping. I sit and watch you sleeping on the bed.

You stretch atop the covers like a vision,
your legs and arms a picture in repose;
I do not dare to wake you from your dreams,
your limbs splayed like a strumpet, you expose

your naked form, my touch will flutter your desire.

               your body 'wrapped in mine,
        our souls a living sacramen
                   to love and joy divine.
I enter you and all the stars explode,
                      fulfillment is our quest,
                              our shining testament.

As evening gently falls the windows glimmer,
the city glistens now from altered light;
the glowing falters as the sun dips slowly,
dying in the West, makes way for night.
Activity's still rife, but in my garret,
I reach for you as darkness settles soft,
I hold you in my arms, forever blessed,
while stars are quietly dancing up aloft.

Aboard the Dramallach Raven

Come stand with me upon the prow,
put your head upon my chest,
the moon, it shall come up right now
and we will soon be to our rest.
We catch the last rays of the sun
and moon, it shall soon take its place,
the light of day leaves at a run,
the moon is here, the sun to displace.

Softly the Raven does rise and fall,
as we watch the moon begin to rise,
we are ready to answer Love's own call,
the glory of Love's moon does hypnotize.
We watch God's silver light, spread on the world,
soon we shall be off to bed,
your body next to mine is curled,
I'll place my sacred rose, beside your head.

Love me as no one else can,
For tomorrow I may well be gone,
I shall forever be your Loving man,
I spend my life running before the storm.
I am a pirate, my life is the sea
you came with me of your own free will
and now our Love it shall forever be
it is a wonder that no one can kill.

I wouldn't give this moment for a thousand tomorrows,
standing on the Raven, with you beside me,
we've left behind a hundred different sorrows,
to be together on Love's own sea.
If we look down we shall see a mermaid,
her face is shining, she looks up merrily
and my poor heart sings out Love's seranade,
the mermaid does harmonize with me.

You look into my eyes and you are lost for a moment,
what you see there, I may never know,
all of your Love that has lain there dormant,
you shall, this evening, come to show.
Your hand finds mine, lips now close tightly,
love flows through the temple divine,
together in Love, wrongly or rightly,
this Love shall survive the test of time.

As we stand together, fast
the orb of Love reaches full height,
we know the feelings are here at last,
we know the touch of Love's own might.
To our cabin, we now shall go
we shall Love by God's own silver light,
divine feelings we shall ever know
as we do Love through our every night.
