Sunflower, accursed, to stand and stare,
And Clytie was her fair begotten name.
Cursed she was to gaze into the sun's glare.
Leucothea was Helios' lady fair,
A love fallen prey to jealousy's game.
Sunflower, accursed, to stand and stare.
Helios' love was lust she did declare,
Harlot - did Clytie Leucothea defame.
Cursed she was to gaze into the sun's glare.
Leucothea burned at a stake in a flare.
Clytie pined for Helios without shame.
Sunflower accursed to stand and stare.
Angered Helios at this state , unfair,
Turned her to flower - Helianthus fame .
Cursed she was to gaze into the sun's glare.
She stares at the sun with no one to care,
At night she weeps with her remorse laid bare.
Sunflower, accursed, to stand and stare,
Cursed she was to gaze into the sun's glare.

Some One may ask, hiding behind mask
Who is the terrorist? Who indeed I ask?
Many a terrorist deflect their sins
On the defenders of freedom, they sow their raw hate
They yell their morals then cheat on their mate
They care only for their own righteous words
They brainwash the victims to cut off the heads
Then invent truths to fit their illusions so dead
They sing of peace and sell bullets for blood
Careful of the dark shadows hiding behind masks
They are easy to spot
They say not their names, only to defame
They hide behind codes and monikers
The KKK was classic
At the white cloak game
If you disagree
A hypocrite he says you shall be
When he is the leader of deceiving all of thee
Sweet words never hide the camel’s breath
Ask the children of Assad
Killed by men behind gas masks
A Workplace Prayer
Written: by Tom Wright
1998
Lord, as we gather
at our places of work each day.
Let us do our tasks, with others,
in one accord we pray.
If it be day or dark of night
let us be found.
At counter, desk, or mundane task
or on appointed round.
As you forever watch our lives
Lord, keep us humble.
Forgiving us if because of self
we should err and stumble.
If in our day there might be things
we perceive as being wrong.
Lord, grant us grace to not complain
but place within our hearts a song.
Let us see within ourselves
all things, as you Lord, see.
With others not being cross
nor giving them occasion to be.
Let us have no part in sniping
or passing some tale that's lame.
Asking ourselves first, what good can come
if another's character we should defame?
Let us look upon our daily contacts
as blessings sent our way.
Finding within our hearts for each
naught but kind words to say.
Presenting none an occasion
to be dissatisfied or to grieve.
But through our smiles, let them see you
as they prepare to leave.
Help us to always be ever mindful
of our service owed to You.
Giving thanks for blessing each
with such great jobs to do.
For decades now we've swam, we've played
and on the grass, in sunshine laid.
A haven for our meditations
visited by our many generations.
Pristine beauty, nature's pride,
and now, bereft, tears we've cried.
To be destroyed, torn asunder.
Governments decree, a total blunder.
Safety issues is their claim,
so our park they now defame.
This decision, we don't understand,
upcoming destruction of community land.
Other solutions they will not hear.
Their stubbornness abundantly clear.
We now say goodbye to memories
of wandering through paths of trees
beside the lakes of childhood life.
Their idea of progress cuts like a knife.
For decades now we've swam and played
and on the grass, in sunshine laid.
A haven for our meditations
that's been stolen from future generations.
Faith Builders

The most natural response to any adversity,
Is to groan, plead, or seek another to blame.
But God has a purpose for each of our trials,
Though others, at times, we might try to defame.
The lord allows adversity to enter our lives,
And temptation is inevitable but sin isn’t you know.
For every temptation God makes a way of escape,
And with each temptation our faith should grow.
We can never fathom just what God is planning,
Because HIS thoughts are too profound to know.
We may straightway see results of our trials,
But always we’ll harvest from the seeds we sow.
“We must respect women,”they wailed,
to not do so…beyond the pale!
now ‘trans’ is their new Holy Grail,
and all girls’ sports must include males.
The woke are a joke, have no part of such folk.
They lied and cheated, just to gloat,
had no care when they stole our votes,
to leech off us, live off the bloat,
and civil war darkens our hopes.
The woke are a joke, have no part of such folk.
They preached at us in the movies,
put tiny women in melees,
as if that’s something we’d believe,
they can’t even write good stories.
The woke are a joke, have no part of such folk.
They single out men to deride,
call us toxic, other such lies,
to brainwashed to ever realize
without men they’d not long survive.
The woke are a joke, have no part of such folk.
They censor those not on their page,
then preach that it’s a ‘better age,’
we should trust them, since they’re so sage,
but somehow don’t foresee our rage.
The woke are a joke, have no part of such folk.
Our families they do defame,
said mother/father, all the same,
then act shocked when children in pain
shot up a school, dope up their brains.
The woke are a joke, have no part of such folk.
They mock the mere idea of faith,
then worship at the church of race,
Dr. King would call this disgrace
that they judge by the shade of face.
The woke are a joke, have no part of such folk.
They think the world bow to their thoughts,
reality they’re never taught,
but life’s not an idea we’ve bought,
they live as a close-minded lot.
The woke are a joke, have no part of such folk.
Poetry, You are Illumination!
Not the point of descent
but the ascending apex of
God's triangles – you come to
me, a bride...after the dutiful converse,
you come to me, dear wondrous composition~
wearing your verbal gown of transparent
white:
Why do I write? And why breathe, make
love? The in and out of creation somehow
such death and resurrection becomes us
both, the draw of life despite the often
editing crosses –
We are best when up against the wall...
that writer's block, that impasse, that
paralysis!~ poetry my sledge and saw,
the reason for eyes and hands, power
to transcend vision into new horizons
however they defame you, my lyrical
rib: abuse you with singsong cords
and hackneyed personifications, even
the erudite who only basically attend
to me you are nearer perfection...
Always, a divine lover and friend!
She delights in blame.
Pointing fingers without shame.
But totally absent
Of any personal talent.
Her words are alike daggers.
Cutting deep into the heart.
She thinks she's clever.
But in reality, she's just playing a part.
The blame game is her favorite.
Always finding someone to accuse.
But when the spotlight savors it.
She quickly makes an excuse.
She never takes responsibility.
For her own actions and mistakes.
Instead, she shifts the susceptibility.
And creates the most drama and heartache.
But one day she'll realize:
That the blame game is a losing fight.
For true growth and evil lies
Start with accepting what's right.
So let's abandon the blame game.
And bestow ownership of our lives.
Only then can we act without defame
And truly thrive.
I entered life tabula rasa,
a spiritual being, a blank slate,
my life unpainted on a piece of masa
with no ego to sate.
But my ego grew before I knew
how spirit bends when shadows speak;
it found the doubts I clung to, too,
weakening me, unable to spiritually seek.
It shrouded the signals the spirit sends
the mercies placed at every hand~
the rainbow the sunshine bends,
the blue-violet dusk that glorifies the land.
And here’s the truth I long denied:
a tainted picture ego did draw,
and I’m the one who lets its shadow dwell inside
until at my self-esteem it did gnaw.
So now I walk the inner way~
crucifying the ego’s strength and claim.
For God’s guidance I doth pray,
vowing, “Ego, thy shall no longer my spirit defame!”
Although ego’s voice still tries to rise,
I greet it with a pilgrim’s grace
knowing it’s my worst enemy who wears many a disguise.
Now I’m a braver, enlightened soul finding its place.
* TREACHERY WARNING *
Why do some use their quill as a poisoned dart?
To think you can destrooy this poet's heart?
Gangs roam here, best not get in their way!
Will do all in their power,to humiliate and
make you pay.
And what of you, good souls, nothing like them?
You will not back a good poet in open post, you let
them bleed then?
This place, is a mirror of the musical,
" West Side Story,"
Where getting laughs to crude poetry and arrogance
And to murder, another poet is their only glory?
Their crude M.O is a knife in your poetic
back.
Because you called their number, and their cry goes
out, " Attack, attack."
PS reflects the bloody history of all humanity.
Blaming only the past for cruel history?
All the beautiful and kind poetry here?
Cannot erase the treachery, the method of shaming,
which, be aware, is their gear.
Time to do screenshots, of replies that show they are
here not to write poetry.
But to shame and defame you, win prizes and to fool
others, such apparent treachery!
How sad I am to share my heartbreaking story,
But be very aware, not as was I, with a heart
now so crimson-goried!
