There was a man named Kaldi who herded sheep
He fed them berries in Ethiopia but they could not sleep
He then told his friends and they tried them, too
Soon everyone worked harder and said goodbye to curfews
Not 600 years later, it had spread through the Arabian Peninsula
Then Turkey, Egypt, Persia, and Syria
There was a terrible time when the Turks invaded Hungary
But rumor has it that is when they brought coffee
From 1520 on the story goes
Coffee spilled through Europe and put people on their toes
But many people in the church they had their concerns
They called it Satanic and in hell coffee drinkers would burn
But Pope Clement VIII he gave the bitter drink his blessing
Then in 1670s London King Charles II took to his own messing
There were fears of coffee meetings and political uprisings
But by the end of the 1600s Kings Arms of Manhattan cafe was jiving
It was brought by the Dutch to New Amsterdam
People preferred tea and beer but would give coffee a chance
Decades went by and they sipped, worked, and danced
But by 1773 something forever changed the fate
Of not just coffee but the colonies' reason to celebrate
King George III went wild with tea taxes
Revolutionaries rebelled by the masses
They had the Boston Tea Party and then the war
America was born and it opened a door
Not just for freedom but the bitter, once Satanic drink
It changed the way people socialize and the way that they think
From Ethiopia to Turkey to England and the US we have Kaldi to thank and our minds to impress
In a small town of 800 the lonely town where children never sleep
Hardly can anyone imagine them ever being sweet
Some are bullies, some rob, steal, some brake windows
Others are found juvenile delinquents breaking into condos
Adults and political authorities
Sanctions rules and laws just for the youth minorities
These hard nosed children keep breaking them curfews
Rebellious youth with incurred huge transverse views
The disorderly town children fight and riot
No wonder these rebellious cretins are sleep and so tried
Small town of 800 this lonely town where children never obey civil laws
These Town Children Delinquents breaking juveniles

An angry Father, that wore a frown
has watched the rise of the devil's moon
While pacing, he's worn the carpet down
They arrive at dawn, and none too soon!
Broken curfews, her virtue at stake
The stakes are high, but the daughter dared
Dad quickly plans a wedding date!
No explanation or sage to share
They are ushered in, without a sigh
Their vows would choke the most aloof
It clouds the starlight in their eyes,
and shoots the moon, un-bullet proofed!
This patriarch must take a stand
Holy wedlock was in high demand !

HEY YOU DEADLY VIRUS! What have you done to the world?
You came in like a hungry wolf
We are shattered because of you
You made our governments create new rules
People are locked inside their houses with weary looks
Wondering what to eat and planning on their next moves
Thousands and even millions have died
Others are lucky to have survived
People are fearing for their own lives
The worst is yet to come is what they imply
Our money banks have become dry
COVID, our lost has become your PRIDE
Getting isolated is becoming the new norm
Curfews has made us feel bored
Overseas visitors are locked/quarantined like scary dogs
School students and church goers are banned and become lost
Social gatherings are no more, including sports
Hardworking employees have lost their hard earned jobs
Walking around the almost empty town like a zombie
Wondering what has happened to everybody
Faces covered with masks and different coloured clothings
Gloves are being worn- Police with hailers giving warnings
Maintain two meters apart from everyone
Coz you might get infected by Dearest Mr. COVID
Thank you dear COVID for teaching us a lesson
Life has to move on; no matter what happens
This trying times has made us stronger
We've learned to live with whatever life has to offer
Bonds in our JERUSALEMS are strengthened
Planting of so long barren lands have become our passion
Form:
I’m from small town homes and rose bushes overgrown, with
Close-but-not-too-close-close-knit-crazies.
Where my best friend lives down the block and I make late night trips to her house past the town curfew, because I am from just inside the city limits.
Where I can’t drive underage in a non-road-legal vehicle on the road but I do it anyways.
From hydrangeas to big dead oaks with darkened limbs and forgotten branches. Unattended to hidden ponds with sand dunes keeping close company. Winding trails through the woven pines and golf cart rides through the night.
From two tracking at 2am, to popped tires riding on rims all the way home.
Bruised up and down and scratches I don’t know how I got.
I’m from sunday night football with crockpot cheesy potatoes
to rolling blackouts and chasing charter vans down flat onto our bottoms.
Muddy heels to get to the dance and paying seven dollars to watch my hometown football team lose.
I’m from where smoking our meat and video games in the garage is a party but we are the only company we need.
From corny jokes inside and out and witty humor, none taken. From where insulting one another is nothing but love and curfews are often a thing of the past.
Descending from lovejoys I am often filled with both love and joy,
I’m from oddballs and country folk yet we have evolved.
I’m from soccer games even when it’s raining. From no quitting all the way to you tried your best.
From high- highs and even lower lows.
I’m from the land of schnitzel, pickled beer, and pizza. From ‘go play outside’ and ‘walk it off.’ Nuts and bolts for christmas snacks to ‘honor thy mother and father.’ Sunday school lullabies and don’t use his name in vain, following all the common Godly precautions.
I’m from waking up early just to see the sunrise even though the trees are a war barricade from the burning fire you long to see. I’m from the fog that made my acres of yard an abyss that I can’t see through, even though I know what’s there.
I’m from family trips and a loving home, missing it when I’m gone and hating it when I’m there. I’m from supportive love and ‘can’t isn’t a word’. I’m from you can do anything if you work hard enough, and whether you think you can, or think you can’t, you’re right.
I held her first before the world,
A tiny hand, a dream unfurled.
So small she lay upon my chest,
My loudest heart, my quiet rest.
She looked at me with eyes so wide,
As if I’d hung the stars with pride.
And in that gaze, I clearly knew,
My life had found a purpose true.
I taught her how to tie her shoe,
To chase the sky, to love what's true.
But truth be told, with every year,
She taught me more than I did her.
She danced through days with scraped-up knees,
With wild hair and endless "please."
And I, the man who feared no height,
Would pray for her each stormy night.
She grew so fast—I blinked, she flew.
From bedtime tales to curfews too.
And every stage, each laugh and tear,
Etched memories I still hold dear.
She may not know the silent fears,
I hid behind encouraging cheers.
But every win she made her own
Was rooted deep in seeds I’d sown.
And now she walks with grace and fire,
A woman built of bold desire.
But still, no matter what she sees,
She’ll always be a part of me.
Not just my daughter—more than that—
The best of me, where love is at.
And though the world may call her grown,
She'll always be my little one.
LET US PRAY
Let today Sunday the 22nd March
Be a day of prayer,
Which will include all denominations,
Let us ask Our Almighty Father
To forgive us our sins,
And the sins of this world and think
Of heavenly destinations
Let us ask Him – would He
See fit to drive this Corona Virus away
We will today all pray,
Families are been torn apart, curfews
Have begun in many countries
Police and armies are getting involved,
The media saying reminiscent of WW 11
Hopeless, heart sore situations,
Where we must stay indoors,
Please God help us,
And let us begin a new era, helping
And teaching the poor,
Every relevant state
Giving them food and shelter, each one
Of them as much His children as are we!
Let us pray for planet earth today.
And think of the film Messiah,
Who stood for all mankind,
Leaving no man behind,
The truth is, we have left our Planet
To become an abomination,
LET US ALL PRAY!
Do you see What I see?
Dr Fauci says to wear a mask and social distance, it will prevent the spread of the virus. Has it, NO! It is spreading like wild fire. Fauci either is wrong or he's lying or both. I think both!
How do you have martial law, keep people in their homes, destroy businesses, destroy the economy, shut down state borders, set curfews, destroy childrens education, scare people by bombarding them with the spread of a common cold, by making it look more serious than it really is, confuse and distract people Do you really think this is all coincidence? Or is it an orchestrated plan to rob us of our Rights and Freedoms and ultimately destroy the freedom of assembly( Six foot Distancing)(Free Speech, they are censoring any truth that goes against their agenda on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter under the guise of hate speech) to hide the real truth of whats going on. So many Traitors to the American people involved. Mostly all your Governors, Politicians, Actors, Athletes, Musicians, Talk show host, Drs so forth and so on. Their agenda is to create so much Chaos that you will do almost anything to have normality back again. That's when they will say we can get back to normal but you have to be vaccinated. So many will take that lethal vaccine. The vaccine as much as it pains me to say this is a depopulation tool that is design to gradually cause our demise through the aid of the 5g towers that are going up around you. They will create virus symptoms and the Powers that be will say the Virus is causing these symptoms of sickness and death, when in reality it is the vaccine and the 5g. Their goal is to depopulate to 500 million. They will continue to say more and more are getting infected and dying to scare you into their trap. Problem(they created, the Virus) Reaction(Spreading, sickness, fear) Solution (The Vaccine) which is their ultimate goal. To add to the madness they will cause severe food shortages, and they will take away your cash. They will clamp down more and gradually take all your rights away. Germany is protesting by the tens of thousands but the Globalist control the media and you don't see it. China is going cashless. All because of the greatest lie told to the American people . Oh moon, so full, so dearly
bright, You are the light
of lovers; misty glow of night,
Dimmer than sun, his subordinate
reflection, yet remains he jealous
despite; for even death, cannot silence
love’s forever brilliance, vows
trans-versing ages--the grave a
mere cycling phase…each new face
a hopeful countenance—and all
passing through such shadows
are coated, in-spite of the daze,
with a gleaming, rapturous
glaze….
Oh Moon, your insight, unlike
all others—though depressed
in curfews of darkness--appealing
dread silence I call through the
thickness, while treading deep
echoes of night—where does a
heart sail when one beat cruelly
sunk--leaving the other, fond memory,
but little choice than to float
their dreams one alone...?
Till the fog once again lifted, and
awakened by her lips, love’s promise;
is not life so preciously gifted, to
we unworthy yet treasured by God?
Only you, Moon, see clearly our
heartaches; and the matchless pain
when summarily parted--our seasons
so like your own, cold and warmth,
dim halos and beaming glows--as
onto occasions light simmers...to again
lustrously grow. For humans--our
hearts free symphonies a-flutter—soul’s
mortal vehicle the spirit only intimately
knows; let no sadness sow doubt to
drown us, affirming for love
that love eternally flows….
HANSEL AND GRETHEL*—A FRACTURED FAIRY TALE
Poem written for and submitted to “The Seed of Fear Poetry Contest,” Jami Patterson, sponsor, August 5, 2025.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the great city where towers scraped the sky,
lived an accountant with taxes too high.
His fingers trembled over empty ledgers,
scary times calling for drastic measures.
No longer in democracy did his country embrace
personal freedoms left without a trace.
The economy did falter
most everyone, including him, lived in squaller.
His wife sighed, "Oh, what shall we do?
Our cupboards are bare, our dreams bid adieu.
No bread to share and not enough food
for Hansel, Grethel, you, and me. We’re screwed!”
“There's a camp on city’s outskirts,” he did say,
"where the broken, lost, and weary can stay.
There we can live free on government aid.
So, dear wife, not to worry, for everything will be paid!"
“We can’t go there!” she said, her voice filled with dread.
"We shall not seek where the lost souls are led,
in a camp where the government with us its taxes has bled
offering breadcrumbs to our children instead."
Hansel, with his innocence, clutched his mother’s skirt.
Grethel, with wide eyes and a sweet voice, filled the air with mirth.
But with heavy hearts, they packed up their toys and possessions~
no more yearnings, no more hunger or worries, only depression.
The night was beastly cold, hope worn thin.
The stars watched Hansel and Grethel’s struggles begin.
The camp, a frightening place, was filled with sorrow,
no more dreams of a bright, better tomorrow.
Personal freedom was bartered for fear;
drugs and violence were always near.
Curfews, rampant theft, socialism, and criminal infestation
took hold in our once great nation-now the land of desperation
