Premium Member TODDLER DANCE

The other night at work I had mellow ’60’s music playing in the store
when a couple carrying their young son entered through the door.

Guessing someone’s age the more I age is harder and harder for me
but by the way he toddled through the store I’d say he was two or maybe three.

When he toddled up to the speaker where the music was playing
he stopped…he listened and when he finally felt the beat….
faster than you can say Richie Havens…he began to move his feet.

He toddle-danced left…he toddle-danced right then he began to bounce up and down
and the more the music moved him…he started spinning round and round.

But a toddler can only spin so much…three times…maybe four…
before dizziness and gravity directed him to the floor.

He’d sit there for a moment staring…smiling at me…and then
moved once more by the music…he’d begin to dance again.

It was fun to watch this little boy move to the beat and toddle-dance to the rhythm…
and fun to watch all the customers who couldn’t walk by
without stopping to toddle-dance with him.

If you don’t think music is universal…that it can’t bring people together…
that it doesn’t our world enhance…
I invite you into our bookstore where you can listen to the music
and where, if you’re lucky, you can watch toddlers and people dance.

Oh yea! As Boe the owner of the bookstore likes to remind me…
I also have a job to do…
So while you’re listening to the music…
and watching toddlers and people dance…
It’d be great if…you would buy a book or two.

Labor Day 2022

Courtesy of one or more tradesmen,
first Monday in September set aside
for employees able, eager, ready
and willing to acquire money
to marry groom or bride
climb the corporate ladder or
become an artisan, entrepreneur, technician
to side step getting rung, drafted
like an oxen plow, commandeered and chide
by management as insubordinate
till retirement or join kiln fields
once the music died

from plane over exertion, yet nonetheless
sweat of brow efforts praised I espied
searching me noggin brief history re:
aforesaid day, where barbecues fried
dispersed aromas recognizing efforts
of workers with quality control as guide
grievances against danger challenged
sense and sensibility stalwart did not hide
the shenanigans that took place inside
sense and sensibility
without prejudice nor pride

boardrooms in tandem with glories of
American made products from those
who put figurative nose to grindstone –
just common everyday Jane's and Joe’s
who weathered extreme temperatures,
whereby bodies froze
but thanks to those who battled elements
at large and snatched doze

birth of brute efforts eventually
earned reserved renowned
borne couple shy of
nineteenth century, whence sound
of industrial silence replaced with
parades where hoof beats did pound
burgeoning and bustling city streets
echoed along hardened ground
fealty to country soldered
with faith, federation union freedom
and job security did thence abound,

which holiday underwent
transformations as bustle
and hustle proved myth regarding
land of milk and honey –
from straining of muscle
whereby life, liberty and pursuit
of happiness less of physical tussle

set (thank you Masons and Dixons)
cornerstone to an invisible
complex edifice originally from New York
forgotten builders, farmers, machinists,
et cetera who laid groundwork
wrought by destruction
from Civil War largesse and pork
loosed from the bottle in
Antebellum South, when off flew cork
freeing a genie, which became rendered
supremely courtly poet, i.e. this former dork.

Premium Member Mind Less

(“July 7 Hot and Blue”, 2024, original encaustic)

I like mowing the arboretum
Because it’s relaxing
And the reason for that
Is because it’s mindless.

There are other mindless activities
Such as walking on the beach,
Fishing under an open sky,
Or playing with pets and small children.

But mowing the arboretum for me
Is especially mind-less
Because it’s a randomly planted plot of land
Which means it can only be randomly mowed.

Only an acre, still it takes a couple of hours to mow,
And often I begin with dread, because
I have forgotten how good it feels
To let my mind wander into mindlessness.

In our hearts we know mindlessness is good for us,
And that’s because being obsessively mindful
Is the same as being a prisoner, or better yet a slave,
Within and to our own mind.

Mindfulness is well and good for a variety of tasks,
I certainly want my surgeon being mindful,
But it’s simply a means to an end, and that end,
The ultimate space of a free mind, is mind less.

JOINING SOPHIE

Sophie and I used to often sit
At our small quaint,
Downtown café,
Sometimes all day,
I so enjoyed Sophie’s
Charm and wit.
The solace we found here,
Was so relaxing,
We held hands
Whilst we thought,
Of our flirty romancing.
We once saw
The exchange of dope
This café was just
Like a kaleidoscope!
I tried out dope once,
And Sophie thought
It was naughty,
At times she could
Be quite haughty!
I shook my head
And held back a tear,
As I came back to earth ,
From memories so dear.
My gaze turned towards
A young couple in love,
And suddenly,
A feather falls from above,
This must be a sign,
For I don’t feel well,
And clutch on a chair,
As I hear a faint bell,
I absently think why bells,
Church is on Sunday,
There’s no service today
For today is Monday.
I must go home,
I’m feeling so alone.
My head feels fuzzy,
Everyone is so busy,
I look for help as
I’m feeling dizzy.
Perhaps it’s the coffee,
I really must leave,
And simultaneously
There’s a tug on my sleeve,
Has the grim reaper
Come for me,
I’m ready and unafraid
As I’ll ever be,
And fearlessly think
That my time here is over,
No one at home,
Just my dog Rover.
I’ll be joining you Sophie
I feel so glad,
Life without you
Was very sad,
Please someone find Rover!

Premium Member Trying to Give Her a Hint

What do think of Gay Pheasant, the Lord, she asked me.
Meg had apparently invited him to her afternoon tea.
He is a bit persnickety and prissy I said to my cousin.
Meg is always being sought by suiters, sometimes a dozen.

He seems to like me Meg told me, I can kind of tell.
I could see that she did not know him at all well.
He likes his male companions the best, I said.
Meg did not get the picture, was she right in the head?

He dresses so fancy in brocades, silks, and satins too.
I think we would be such a sweet couple, don’t you?
He seems to best get along with our cousin Boy Sue.
If that was not the best hint, then what else could I do?

Yes, it's all about love,
and a highly proactive form of peace,
about both what's fair,
and what's also kind,
both long-term,
and right now.
It's all about vocation,
and paying the bills,
and enjoying life as production
as well as healthy nutritional consumption.
Most certainly all of those things.

But, organic farmers and permaculture designers,
master gardeners and cooperative developers,
ministers and healers and therapists of all types,
from physical through mental through systemic information network designers,
might use some different language
to define this love and active peace with justice, fairness, kindness,
well-being optimization.

A metasystemically therapeutic,
synergizing,
energizing,
dialectically emergent therapy
enriching,
nutritionally optimizing individual,
couple,
family,
and/or EarthTribe,
grows economic mutually mentoring redeemers,
human natural ecologist cooperatives;
a perma/polycultural balancing
harmonic Beloved Community.

Premium Member summertime

Sunsets of a thousand colors,
jumping into crystal blue waters,
yeah, baby - school's out for summer.

At first, it’s a shock - ignoring the clock,
we’re like prisoners set free
- for a two-month party
- and no responsibilities

Ditch the books b1tchez - you’re my tribe
- summer’s our vibe and it’s time to slip-n-slide.

Barbeque, corn on the cob, juicy peaches,
lemonade, popsicles, hot sandy beaches,
thunderstorms, short shorts, cotton candy clouds,
let's get a little too silly and a little too loud.

Coleslaw, hotdogs, sharing French fries
Charles smokin' ribs, burgers piled high,
lounging by the pool, with friends dropping by.

Sunglasses, flip-flops, midnight walks, crop tops,
sunrise mornings, throwing frisbees in the park

Playlist DJ’n, the bare feet are tappin', we’re TikTok dancin’,
and, truth or dare, I’m seeing a couple of new romances.

Ferris wheel spinnin', funnel-cake eatin’, roller coaster screamin’,
the kettle-corn’s poppin’ for rom-com streamin’ and reality-TVing.

My mom asked, “Why are you girls all sleeping in one room?”
The answer? “Cause there ain’t no cure for the summertime snooze”

Why doesn’t someone make a sunblock perfume?

Umbrellas, watermelons, 3am dips, Taco Bell trips
and roasting marshmallows on the poolside fire-pit

Beach towels spread like butterfly wings,
hey, our tans are starting to match our bikinis!

Come on, relax, have an ice-cold martini.
We’re not doin’ nothin' - we’re makin’ memories!

Premium Member Soaked by Nature

I sit under my crape myrtle tree
in full bloom of white
feeling the cool breeze from the rain
a couple of miles away

I've no particular thoughts about being a miner of
so I'll let my thoughts wander
and watch the clouds rush by
heading Northwest to an unknown destination
while Bluejays play tag in the limbs
and Igrets dig for food in the soil of my yard
seeming not to care that I'm here

I'll spend a few hours in this shade
relax and listen to thoughts that drift away
with the bird songs soaking in Nature,
finding peace, with no thoughts of tomorrow
nor seeking memories to dwell on
only the serenity that comes from a pristine
calmness of the mind

Signs In the Time

Russia is now in the Middle East as earthquakes dramatically increase
A couple signs of the beast but in these times such signs don't cease
As the twelves tribes of Israel return with anti-Semitism on the rise
Many of the things you will learn may also come as a real surprise

As in Revelation seventeen four, she dressed in Purple and Scarlet
This is what Cardinals and Bishops wore in being called this harlot
The euro-roman empire is back and many rumors of war, and war
The Red Moons were right on track, as man is wicked to his core

The Euphrates will run dry, a new 16 dam project just completed
For this China and Russia will via as a deal will save the defeated
But it's the Almighty's Israel this Army will be God drawn to take
Not sure exactly what Seal but that is going to be a big mistake

Earth itself has begun to convulse as man has stripped her bare
And if you still have a pulse of these events you must be aware
A forced Israeli land deal for peace as from Judea they will flee
No longer will God they fleece or else as we are all about to see

Matthew 24:36
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no,
not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Russia/Rosh- Gog Magog war 9-11-15
Jews increasingly return to Israel worldwide
St. Malachy predicted 112 popes, this is 112
The euro is the old Roman Empire
Red Moons 1493, 1948 rebirth of Israel
1967 the 6 day war Jerusalem now Israel's, and 2014
Signs in the Heavens God's Billboards
200,000,000 man army crosses dry Euphrates
Turkey just finished that dam 6 months ago
Earthquakes over 6.0 increase 10 fold since 2000
Google disasters in the U.S after ruling against Israel( it's not good)
The warnings/Shemitah years 1973, 80, 87, 94 2001, 2008,
2015 9-11 Russian goes into Middle East(Syria)
For I believe the final process of His Judgement may have begun
We are no Nineveh, we haven't repented but become worse!

Technology/ increase in knowledge
Popo Leo's Vision 1884....I need more time and power
The cell phone, he's in EVERYONES pocket(power)
I could go, but time is short
Not meant to scare, but awaken. He is a Loving and Merciful God,
And His Kingdom will have no end. Call upon His Name
For even the elite shall be fooled in the last days

To Be Loved

Another year feeling alone in a crowded space, wishing and hoping for that special someone
I hate wishing I was the girl in that guy’s arm, that perfect picture of a couple in love and happy
I wish that was me ...my soul would finally have inner peace
I want to be someone reason to get up in the morning
I want to be someone good night thought, that good feeling, someone hope for tomorrow
I want to be someone profile picture, hugging and kissing that moment love is captured in that frame
I want to wake up next to a man that don't want to lose me, if I leave it would be a real heart break...open tears would fall
I want to be with someone that I don't want to move on ...my heart belongs my soul rejoice
Father God, I want to love someone that loves me equally, see me as a queen and treat me like one
I want someone that eyes are fixed on my smile... only my love he needs and wants for the rest of his life
I want to be someone life partner someone best friend someone happy ever after
