Descending,
I manipulate and manoeuvre for the updraft
Spluttering,
I spiral down, then briefly up again, to glimpse a glowing sky
Flapping,
I fall forever faster, flat-eagled
Plunging,
I watch the unwelcome gloom envelope my horizon
Tumbling,
I twist, turn and turbulate, ... then the thudding thump
Gasping,
I groan and exhale, a noiseless moan
Curling,
I recoil as innards become outward form
Emerging,
a base inside-out creature crawls and creeps
Tasting,
the tongue-tied intestines and the unseeing socket eyes
Groping,
a gruesome grub befriends the worm and slurps the slug-slime
Engorging,
as flaunted members flail blood and flick licky, sticky fluid
Reforming,
dim visions populate carnal shapes with awful movement
Gaping,
a fearful half-formed and startled face averts its gaze
Residing,
in deep gutter niches... these are my companion dwellers
Wallowing,
I sniff a redolent upswell of dank fissured earth
Disturbing,
I scrape, cleave and wipe away a smear of covering soil
Trembling,
I sense a warmth of body, a stretching of exotic wings
Enquiring,
I mutter clumsy overtures and crude enticements
Retreating,
I hear unmistaken rebuke and a sigh of disappointment
Imploring,
I elevate my utterances and seek a further hearing
Caressing,
I feel a welcoming and forgiving response
Pulsing,
the creature's cocoon gives way to nebulous female form
Ascending,
at first a cherub woman smiles playfully down on me
Transforming,
a stimulating and sensuous siren cavorts and teases
Uplifting,
wings gather me in for a swooping flight of fancy
Revealing,
from above, her intimate view of dwellers in the hinterland
Coaxing,
she fills me now with empathy and understanding
Alighting,
my body-mind lies prone beneath her
Tingling,
I feel her form and thoughts slowly enter and encompass me
Exploring,
I arouse and we gently probe between lips and sphincter
Delving,
I follow our rhythm of kiss, taste, touch and thrust
Wandering,
I experience our ambiguous male and female desire
Playing,
I laugh at how we tickle our innocence and sophistication
Loving,
I know for delirious moments what it is to be another
Consumed,
lost in coexistence with a like- but more extraordinary- mind
Did Cupid get it wrong with his arrow when he took a shot at me? Could he see that I was a saddened girl dreaming of someone to love me?
Was he up there just sitting upon his cloud, looking down, and seeing me, or could he hear my cries that I no longer wished to be lonely?
He claims that he is the God of desire all about passionate love, but I guess the joke was on me when he shot you too with his arrow from up above
He speaks of the erotic passion of love, affection, attraction, and desire, and all of these things we did have between us back then no one could put out our fire
They say he is the son of Venus the most beautiful goddess of all, so you would think he knew more about love then he apparently did, at least that is my call
Some people call him Amor, another name for love, and I thought that is what he placed us in but apparently mine wasn’t enough
Some say he looks like a Cherub with a face so sweet, and I trusted in him when he brought you to me
But what Cupid brought to me was no God, no lover to take away the sadness I carried within, he brought to me a demon with wings but not the kind that were placed upon him
Cupid’s bow and arrow are a source of power, but he doesn’t wield it very well, because he sent me the uttermost darkness that resides in the flames of Hell
Cupid’s arrow cursed me when I looked upon your face, I couldn’t see the devil only the angel disguised in his place
You controlled me with your desire for me as I for you, but now looking back I believe it was the poison of the arrow that hid our bitter truths
Cupid likes to claim that “Love Conquers All” well he needs to come down off of his cloud and tell me that I’m wrong
Love in my case doesn’t conquer anything, not when you’re up against the devil himself because the devil he plays to cheat
Cupid is winged because as they say lovers are flighty, I know that devils are, they are just cleverer about hiding those wings when they come making their call
They say Cupid is boyish because love is irrational but then again men they are too, and devils well they’re the worst of all wrapped up in beauty while they defile you
So, Cupid you can have your arrow back and I can tell you where it should go, next time instead of hitting the devil in the heart with it please aim just a little more low.
I had seen - her calm, cool, composed - like a soft soothing breeze,
Though she could turn tempest or tornado or weakly wheeze;
Like a formless cherub in an endless garden of love,
She covered the earth while racing on cloud-Morgan above…!
Lovely you are! I said to her, Love's living conqueror!
Aren't you, yet, noisy nomad, gypsy, or mere wanderer?
I am vagrant sure, she said, and a tireless traveler,
I have jailed you, yet, in my sachet, like a prisoner…!
It was when I moved much away from the maddening crowd,
And when pondered over her bewildering words aloud;
Enlightenment dawned in me like the wisdom of Buddha,
Many great truths got revealed slowly like Brahma Chakra...!
True as very truth is my brief existence in the breath,
Who on this earth exists, devoid of her, from birth to death?
She murmurs, whispers, commands, demands, like Divine Spirit,
She creates! Destroys! Takes to zeniths! Grants highest merit…!
Soft, serene like nectar secreting in a rose flower,
She sleeps in; grows glows like a flower on a green bower;
Consciously conscious! Unconsciously unconscious! Solace!
Plows through the interiors, like Yacht through water, flawless…!
Shifting my state of mind, working like a leaven within,
Sleep, wake - like my mother - in feasting and fasting she's in;
She is the beginning! End! Center! Whole! Totality!
She is the starting and ends of the whole humanity…!
What an engulfing like a fiery inferno and smoke,
What an empowering and overpowering soul-stroke!
What a change, like unique bloom! Great is the life-giving breath!
What Calm! Peace! Tranquility! Bliss! Awesomely saving meth…!
With her, no stress! No strain! No phobia! No mania!
Her free-blow within free from frightening insomnia;
Abandoned to her eternally evolving Spirit,
Body and soul reach zenith beyond the mundane limit…!
Growing high, I gladly come to the realization,
That I'm part of the classic universal cognition;
Wherein my inner unity freely fondly extends,
And to the external eternal harmony, it tends...!
Knowingly? Unknowingly? Willingly? Unwillingly?
Breath has adopted me - calmly, cutely, and cautiously!
Has made me a flute, lute, melodious rhythmic consort,
I play on! I am played on! Till I reach restful retreat…!!!

Tears fall from a round cherub face
Who feels her life is a big disgrace
Who feels she is just a charity case
Who takes up way too much space
Who knocked over the hand painted vase
From Italy
Because she thought she was too obese
An ugly savage beast
And wanted her life to cease
Because people liked to tease
About her wanting the last piece
Of pizza
So she decided right there and then
No more crash diets or Phen-Fen
No more envying her friends
No more rejections from men
No more carrot sticks again
She's starving
Because she hates the way she looks
And having to buy all those books
Those diet gurus are crooks
Playing on her emotions is the hook
That reeled her in from her little nook
She's miserable
All 125 pounds of her was crying out
For a way to escape right out
From dejection and self doubt
She just wanted to scream and shout
She saw only one solution as a route
Plastic surgery
Because it was the only way
To want to live another day
Without having to hope and pray
That she would not become afraid
And slit her wrists with a razor blade
Psychotherapy
So a doctor she took herself to
And guess what that quack wanted to do
Rhinoplasty her nose into
One like little Cindy Lou Who
Said he’d make it like brand new
She bought it
Because her nose was to be done
Next was her chin—it looked like a Cinnabon
No wonder she was being shunned
He said he’d spare her the dejection
and give her a neck like an elegant swan
She believed it
Next was her breasts—they needed a lift
The size does matter if you catch my drift
Your popularity will benefit
From putting some silicone in your tit
Its quite exciting, you’ll have to admit
She oohed
Because her abs and butt were a terrible blight
To leave them like that it would not look right
They needed to look taut and tight
What a plight!
Liposuction would be a wonderful sight
She aahed
Surgery was schedule for tomorrow at dawn
She didn’t see how she could do any wrong
She went shopping and bought a new thong
Her depression was gone
She felt twice as strong
Is she delusional?
The surgery happened right on time
Where’s the police-isn’t this a crime
This girl looks absolutely fine
What is flawed is just her mind
Society has not been kind
Is she to blame?
Spring
A refresh of rain, falling down on them all
Un-quenching each leaf with tilt refrain
Linden shaped blossoms in spring do install
Such beautiful heaven that no one can maim
The burst of an orange, a tulip in bloom
Infusion of flowers, by meadow's festoon
The shine of an orchid, ever so stark,
It stays on my mind, long after dark
The Rose brings her beauty, as I swift appraise
And summer goes trailing with fever, her blaze
Summer
Heat waves arrive, wearing red flaming scarves
Bronzed cherub angels, by cool fountain spout
Yellow kissed flowers by summer's head count
The dahlias in love, with passions, don't starve
Bikinis and tank tops with summer tanned legs
Atop the hot board walk, skip trampling keds
Bleach blonds and ravens in tune with the fair
Coasters and bolsters and times without care
It's all in the season of sunshine and thrills
Where fireworks burst, o'er emerald hills!
Autumn
The seasons pass as my eyes behold
Soft change in hues when bending limbs grow bare
As colored leaves turn brown begin to fold
To finally scatter into Autumn's air
These days remembered on a road of leaves
Traveling aspen groves ablaze in gold
A Winter's chill before the Autumn grieves
Reminds that all life ends before its cold
And calls in voice its yearly subtle dance
As songs from birds now give a quiet note
While those in love hope colors will enhance
To feel chill from Winter when color dies
To bless the fallen leaves with sadder eyes
Winter
The Winter's cold comes dressed in velvet white
And spills its unique flakes upon the Earth
Scenes of beauty calm, open eye's delight
And cleanse the ground before the Spring's rebirth
I'll walk upon the freshest fallen snow
And see the trail of prints I leave behind
While knowing it reveals the path I go
I'll make a snowy Angel some will find
To cross the banks of white where depth is low
And sit among the quiet, Winter's brought
To see the landscape clean with softest glow
Shall bring to me another gentle thought
I'll lift my eyes to find a pictured scene
And marvel at the white that is pristine

There she was chasing a rabbit
with 1 am coffeecakes and weak tea
She didn’t notice I was watching
from the branches of an olive tree
A lone smile hidden amongst
swirling smoke rings in a foreign accent
To the gazebo she ran
with its straw grass tables
and pleated cushions in hibiscus
print fabric no one would sit on
My eyes followed her as she
darted around manicured boxwoods
and cherub statues spitting water
onto sleeping lily pads,
following the same schedule
as the other…identical
She came upon a dandelion
and asked politely, “Pardon me,
but have you seen a…”
The weed interrupted,
“Didn’t…don’t do drama dreams
dancing deliriously down
donut distracted ditches”
“That’s dumb” she replied
with a giggle and a snort
This must be her fun, I think,
trying to catch a white ball of fur,
big, then small,
then smaller still like a
thimble seeking a thread,
when now she is stopped
in her ziggy zagging tracks
by a June bug singing,
“I see, I see, in front of me
Dessert, dessert, set out for free
A chocolate pie, a chocolate pie
in menus written on the sky”
Perplexed she climbed upon its back
and flew, holding onto
red leather shoulder pads
with black dots changing shapes,
ducking winged arches that
covered the vestibule they
soared through when a sharp turn
pitched her to the opposite side…
Landing with a thud,
her new dress now soiled
between the wrinkles in time
that had ticked away
on a clock faced sun named Ray
She cried carrot tears,
orange sherbet streams
on peach tone cheeks,
marmalade miseries
and mango miscues
piddling on her patent leather shoes,
ready to give up
When it appeared, hopping happily
Jumping into her lap
and licking her face
She caressed its fur, removing
sticker burs and scratching
just the right spot, as its right rear leg
thumped with joy
Then lifting the bundled bunny
to her face, she kissed it tenderly
with wild cherry gloss lips,
or should I say…kissed me
for you see, all along, it was me
"And you thought I was nothing more than a pretty smile…"
Thanks for seeing me, if you please
can I now get up off my knees?
Where do I start? I've made a list
forgive me for the one's I've missed.
Can we go back to '77
when you were in your cosy heaven
whilst down below I watched my Dad
struggle for breath, his lungs gone bad?
Ok, my life then I'll admit
held little faith for quite a bit
I fought daily battles alone
relied not on the great unknown.
When finally he left us all
my heart gave out a silent call
that in some bright celestial light
he finally was now alright.
Is he?
Unaided, can he get along
clear lungs to breathe, give praise in song?
Dull eyes that sometimes shone in mirth
as clear as his first hour since birth?
Eighteen years fast forward now
my link with you rebuilt somehow
as by your rules I tried to live
the bond between us tentative
From ten commandments, maybe six
I got to obey- 'pick 'n mix'
The good stuff I could not resist
was sadly never on your list.
Was that why when I called you Lord
you never offered a reward?
When Mother's health went in decline
you punished all those
sins of mine?
And still that faith, though tattered strands
made me kneel down and clasp my hands
and thank you for final release
and pray that she now rests in peace.
Does she?
With father's hand does she now go
like that old black and white photo,
with wedding veil and beaming smile
down some cherub-lined wedding aisle?
And then my brother, six years on
happened so quickly, and was gone
we soldier on and do our best
while he sleeps in eternal rest.
Or does he?
Have you for him set by a place
where he plays his Fender Jazz Bass?
Making up a group of four
with Lennon, Hendrix, Gary Moore?
Jamming sessions, laying down tracks
free from Cancer and heart attacks
playing to approving nods
from some of music history's Gods.
Sorry, Lord, I know there's only you,
really.
Anyway that's enough from me
you've sat and listened quietly
not judged me which I did expect
and one last thing, Lord-
am I next?

Under the diaphanous glow of the moon.
They rise sequentially to a delightful boon.
They have no feathers to adorn their skin.
They still sway quietly and love to spin.
Angels evolved with their comely wings.
Let our souls fly via shadow, amid springs.
Their dulcet grace shone, and they were brilliant.
A rule was argued until it was deemed resilient.
In their mellifluous flight, they blaze a path ahead.
To rise across the humdrum and the dread.
Embracing our true nature, our inner light
And embark on an endeavor that glows bright.
Heave-hoed hereof hallowed halls of heaven.
Their flaps hurled them forth, yet again leaven.
Their minds were furtive on the floor, twirling.
Sage sight scarlet-smeared saffron swirling.
On an arcane spring day, an eternal angel sings.
A world abyss carries empathy and peace strings.
Humming his tune all day over freshly cut hay
As the sun set down, the haycocks turned to clay.
Scorch my lips and quench my thirst.
I sense a schism and wish the wood had burnt
This cherub has no feathers in his wings.
Spouts anguish from inside, a burning ring.
Intense heat as they recover and renew.
Blaze floated and lower downward blew.
As a flock of birds drifting in the auric air.
Wisteria wains on white wings and stares.
If wings have been equated with plumage,
These angels provide us with a fresh triage.
Strong featherless wings are a sign of pride.
Challenge us to prevail utterly by their side.
Featherless angels are luminous and buoyant.
Seek their wise and keen support as clairvoyants.
They elevate us to eager heights on invisible wings.
Sending smiles to our faces as they fit past things.
They serve as a signal that we are all free to fly.
Despite challenges and tribulations, we rely
Their vitality is stored in the depths of the soul
A heavenly grasp, an aura of celestial stroll.
Face framed ornate, or curl corner blu tacked up
Childhood fanciful daring must softly be contained
Dispicable hovers inside cherub cheeked adorable
Challenge for enamoured to create correct shape
Administer discipline with compassion entangled
Potential beckons infant innately curious
Toddler discovery meshed with messiness
Woven with wonderment routine can't limit
Succumbed mother disowns justifiable furious
Besotted witness, sure estate for mischief
Nudging daughters towards beings approved
Beyond old rigidity, modern option multiples
Youth spoken forums we're foreigners to
Images of genuine and fake indiscernible
Listened to lunacy delivers messages askew
Duty to daughters reflect our similarity
Penciled declarations stuck to fridge
Devotedness focussed on child precious
Inflated effort, parents' universal currency
Whether meagre expenditure, or excess
Snippets of your prosper are written in me
Lawyer loads clothes into washing machine
Submerged both classes in a world severe
Puppets of striving in fast passed society
Consumer boom boldly commandeered
Disparity reveals parental symmetry amazing
Faithfully accommodating girls' shifting needs
Working mothers, each of us 'unaccompanied'
Various sized resources serve child raising
Sacrifice made by dedicated souls equally
Providing guidance, friendship gripes quieten
Line of latitude curved by desire to control
Old school wisdom bolsters brains susceptible
Dramatised screen infused new century children

SHARING A PARK BENCH QUIETLY
Oh that?
That’s a relic representing recollections my mother’s had for years
A creation carved with creativity and counted among her most cherished possessions
It was designed during many consecrated conversations and sanctified sessions
Her husband, my dad, had worked on it as days fell into weeks
And weeks collided with months
When I was very young Mom would sometimes sit me on the couch and crouch to tell me a story
The tale etched into that relic with initials, symbols and most importantly love
Because that’s what mom and dad had the most of
Mom would describe to me with urgency and a smile what the cherub on the upper left hand corner represented for a loving pair
It was there to savor their security and ensure longevity so rare
No one in my family cared much for brevity to dare
But rather held sacred was the mortar of love with which they were cemented
And then she pointed to the apartment number they as newlyweds had rented
There was a pair of doves to promise ever blue for a union of two who truly were not one without the other
It does a son’s heart good to learn of how his father first met his mother
The story says they met in a park during a rainstorm and that’s the reason on the relic is a rain drenched tablecloth upon a picnic table
My dad did so much more than most are able
There are no hearts carved to be seen on the relic because only the two of their hearts mattered
Dad had, as well, taken the time to carve a story with silence about the soulfulness and brightness of his wife and my mom was truly flattered
It’s a beautiful relic and it’s also a reminder that being together, for them, meant for always
And in always
Aiming always for a million or more days
Yes, for my whole life that relic has hung upon that very same wall
Oh but now due to delirium and dementia mom doesn’t recognize nor recall that lovely relic at all
