There's a Whole Lot of Shaking Going On

there's a whole lot of shaking going on and you're all shook up
but that is how life is when you drink from God's cup
life can take unexpected turns and have you all spun around
just remember who's in control and has the power to settle life down
now Paul and Silas were in prison for simply preaching the gospel
but after praying to God He then did the impossible

when life has you all shook up you need to stand back and sit still
don't be negative, have a little talk with God and then wait on His will
continue to do what is required of you and trust in God to show you a plan
for God can open new doors in a way you might not even understand
but that's okay as the word of God says to lean not towards your own understanding
but to wait for the will of God to intercede and to do what the Spirit is demanding

if you have a relationship with God He might shake up your normal routine
to take you out of your comfort zone and into a place you've never seen
it might not make much sense to you and you might even disagree
but God knows what is best when it comes to your destiny

accepted beliefs, traditional concepts and that's how it's always been done
but a whole lot of shaking will be going on and your faith may be under the gun
sop forget those accepted beliefs and let God guide you along
allow Him to shake things up and put you where He knows you belong
as no weapon formed against you will prosper nor come to fruition
allow the will of God to shake things up and put you in a better position

now the adversary also has the power to shake things up in your life
just recognize the enemy for what he is and then call on the power of Christ
a young girl who was demon possessed had caused a riot to manifest
with lies told against Paul and Silas they found themselves under arrest
but Paul and Silas did not possess the spirit of fear
for they knew that the Lord God would always be there

so at the midnight hour when all hell tends to break out
that's when to the Lord our God Paul and Silas did pray and shout
and lo and behold God answered their call
an earthquake occured and shook the prison walls
then all the cell doors flew open
and all the shackles were then broken

for when the praises to God go up the blessings of the Lord come down
and there will be a whole lot of shaking going on
but that's okay you're on sacred ground

Children of Faith

Children of faith,
That look up to the heavens,
For help, for comfort,
For a change, for a beginning;
They are like nails hammered into rocks,
They have broken hearts,
They've got nothing,
Completely no one else to turn to,
They walk in the shadow of death.

Children of faith,
They know that they have numbered days,
And are aware of their crashing clay;
They see their fading light rays,
But they have their hopes high,
Like a camel in the Sahara,
That waits for years ,
For a shower of rain from above-
Their tongues prophecy new beginnings,
Their lips sing in thanksgiving,
But their hearts weep in sorrow,
For the afflictions and torments.

Children of faith,
Live each day like their last,
And give each shining sun their best.
Their thoughts are totally lost,
And upon this,they don't boast.
In fact, they're so detached-
From their poor lives.
They thank the setting sun,
For bringing a thin film of darkness,
And for silencing the day's noises;
So that they will shut their doors and windows,
 To cry in silence,
And lick their tears;
And face their fierce fears-
While no one else witnesses their agony.

Children of faith,
That look up to the skies,
For midday dusk-
When the days seem longer,
Or appear like they're failing.
That call on,
For midnight dawn,
When nights appear faulty;
With the greatest of scary dreams,
And the highest ranking of their pain,
Or with life-threatening haemorrhages,
With wounds cut and drilled deeper.
Their lives have taken firm grip,
On to the strongest ropes,
Whose ends are knotted to weak poles.
Most of them lose it with time,
Like you and I at some point;
Only few keep the fire burning,
As they wait for their deliverance.

Children of faith,
I don't understand what it is that they are made of,
But only they know what their origins are.
We want to walk like them,
And borrow lessons from their trials,
As we try to put on their coats,
Just to feel the coldness or warmth or both;
That they get from their shield of faith.
She wants to follow their example,
And keep hearing their tales.
He wants to live a life like theirs;
And keep reciting their prayers.
We plead with them,
 To Teach us ;
How to build faith like theirs.
When the storms are rough,
When the floods are yet to wash away our feet-
When misfortune befalls us,
Or when we feel we've lost it all.

It Is Our Tradition

Bring the Nzu and
Kola nut
Take it to the
stranger among us,
Let him kiss it and
be bless.
Let him rub the Nzu
on his arms then his
fore head.
It is our tradition
here not to neglect
A humble stranger in
our land.
We kiss suffering on
the lips, it harm us
not.
We measure our joy
with dance and
laughter.

pour the oil in the
calabash
Roast the yam and
break the kolanut,
Let the youngest
among us break and
share it.
Pour the dry gin on
the ground and bless
the gods
Our forefathers must
drink before we
taste ours
Angry will they be
if they taste not
the gin.
It is our tradition
here in Nkporoland.

The maiden must not
touch the raging
masquerade
Keep them afar off
from the here, let
them smell not of
it.
All the young men
must be present at
the Iza Afa festival

and then the young
women must not be
excluded from the
Igboto Nma festival
in the village
square.
When is the
initiation into the
masks spirit taken
place?
Warn all the young
men to partake, it
is our tradition
Never allow the she
goat deliver in
pain,
Go call the elders
to look after its
delivering.
The snake must never
be in group like the
beads
It is an abomination
not among the
tradition.

Gather the cowries
and the white chalk
and assemble the
youth in the shrine
Lets pour the goat
blood for the
sacrifices
The gos will hear us
this time after
We went astray from
it in foolishness.
Call on the widow
among us, i heard
there was one.
Her hair must be
Barbe thoroughly
She must bath and
drink the water used
on
Her deceased husband
bath.
The Umu Ada must be
there
It is the tradition
here.

Let the Umu Ada
check the maidens
Of their virginity
before they dance
Let them deep their
hands into the hole
One after the other
to check the fruits.
It is part of the
traditions.
The king must not
set his eyes on a
rotten
Shining meals which
are set for the
vultures.
Let not a child
whistles in the day
Let not a girl child
come out to the
Agbala naked
Under the initiation
in festival of
virginity.

We all must set the
tradition going
It is our right and
liberty to excel.
Neglect not the
wisdom of the elders
In his wisdom exist
pure and holy.
Our fore fathers
must be happy and
free
when we all observe
the traditions
Of Nkporoland in its
pure heart.

Pride goeth before a fall,
It shall be said, long after.

How well the phrase fits this Argive king,
Come far across the wine-dark seas
In his gleaming ships of war
To rape the wealth of other men's homes
All for the sake of a woman;
So it was said.

Here in the smoke of the ruins,
Behind walls breached at the last by treachery,
- 10 years' bloodshed not enough to have battered them down -
Troy's temples lay sacked and belching fumes for incense,
Then here he comes, blazing in bronze, puffed with pride,
To claim you, as his rightful prize alone!
You,
Whom even the gods respect.

Mad you are, blissfully so.
Yours eyes, flashing in your mantic states
See farther and more truly than those
Of any other mortal.

You know the things to be all too well,
For this you were cursed with a great gift of prophecy
Forever doomed to fall upon deaf ears.

But today the curse becomes the gift it should have been,
If to see a proud victor's doom
Riding hard upon his heels, he all unknowing
Be any comfort to the defeated.

He takes you to his death and your own besides,
Mistaking the darkness of your smile
For the resignation of the lost.

He bears home with you the fall of all his house,
Many a proud one shall join you both
In Hades' cold halls ere long has passed.

So bid your mother not despair
To see you taken and treated so lowly;
Bid her rejoice in your ravings,
Tell her raise the torch and call on Hymen
To bless and seal this doom
Which has been set to avenge your righteous dead
Who fell beneath these now so hollow walls.
Exhort her not to weep for her mad daughter,
Who, in being made concubine to this beast
Weds high indeed in final truth,
As through this match she goes to a god,
And he the one most truly feared.

The torchlight flashing
Like starlight in your rolling eyes!
Your beauty as you whirled there,
Absorbed in frenzied grief
Became a sight before which divinity trembled!

Your broken people smiled in pity for you,
Eyes full and dimmed with tears.

Yet it is enough, perhaps, for you alone to know
As you are carried off across the lashing seas
To the enemy land,
The flames of your dead city
Lighting the night's horizon,
Holding in your heart the bittersweet truth none would believe,
You commune with the Eternal,
Bearing gall and misery
To an arrogant fool.

One True Love

Years ago, while I was at work
You approached, and gave me that look.
When our eyes met, on that first day
I glanced at you, and looked away.

My heart was pounding, oh so fast
I never felt this, will it last?
Papers I gave you, to fill out
I explained, what they were about.

A week went by, and you came back
For those papers, you had lost track.
I gave them to you, one more time
I even showed you, where to sign.

Then one night, we had met once more
At the club, you stood by the door.
We had a drink, and shared a dance
You sure had me, from your first glance.

In the morning, you came on by
“Please come with me, but don’t ask why”.
To the seawall, to watch the view
Spending all day, just me and you.

You treated me, just like a queen
Someone like you, I’ve never seen.
You gave your heart, I gave mine too
To each other, our love was true.

The time we spent, I hold so dear
Where this was going, wasn’t too clear.
I loved you more, each day we spent
I felt our love, was truly meant.

You were my first, and only love
Our fate was in, the man above.
I had to leave, after a year
One last kiss, but many a tear.

“I’ll come for you”, I heard you say
Please make it soon, for this I pray.
Years had passed by, no word from you
My heart was broke, what will I do?

I never heard, you didn’t come
I just settled, I heard from some.
I never loved, like I loved you
For what I felt, I knew was true.

I got your call, on one late night
“You’re in my heart, but out of sight.”
“I’ve wanted you, here in my life”
“I just found out, you’re someone’s wife.”

You had told me, you held my heart
I am with you, though we’re apart.
For we’re meant, to be together
Love like ours, will last forever.

Then one day, I felt something wrong
This eerie feeling, sure was strong.
I called your mom, and we both cried
When she told me, you had just died.

Stomach cancer, is what you had
Finding this out, I felt so sad.
The night you called, it was goodbye
You never said, you knew I’d cry.

I’ll always miss, the love we shared
Knowing how much, you really cared.
I must go on, and live my life
For I’m a mom, and someone’s wife.

In your life, when you find true love
Make sure to thank, the man above.
Someday we’ll meet, at heaven’s gate
I know that you, will always wait.

How Does It Feel

How Does it feel?

Being without you is like a wound that won't stop bleeding
An infectious yearning wanting & NEEDING
Like a band aid being ripped off without any warning
Like last call on Sunday night at 2 in the morning
Like a hollow hole in the ground that's infinite
Like wearing out your "good" sweats that no longer fit
Like your boss yapping on and on endlessly
Like a stubborn lock that won't open without its key
Like a Hail Mary pass with the game on the line
Like a dying friend who's running out of time
It's like when there's no toilet paper left when u already sat down
Like when everyone says "cheer up" when all u wanna do is frown
It's like BAD days when nothing ever goes right
It's feeling for your side of the bed every night
It's the projects you just haven't gotten to just yet
It's the taste of their lips that you will NEVER quitE
Forget
It's the mile long weekly to do list
It's like blowing out the candles but never getting your wish
It's like trying to stay as busy as possible with this or that
It's the CONSTANT feeling of this monkey on your back
It's like a criminal holding you against your will
It's the empty space in my heart that ONLY real love can fulfill
It's your part time job weather you want it or not
It's being wrapped in your arms and KNOWING what I got
It's the dreams of "Someday" that you cling to for dear life
It's the fantasy of becoming your future wife
It's that one mistake that your ashamed of and deeply regret
It's hoping you FEEL how much I LOVE u and that you never will forget
It's constant missing holidays and seasonal smiles
It's feeling your here within my heart despite thousands of miles
It's a deserted beach dark and desolite beneath the oceans tide
It's believing we are special and just going with the VIBES
It's the last scoop of your favorite ice cream
It's waking up sweating from the same creepy dream
It's a soul crushing NEED to feel you and hold you tight
It's like apologizing when deep down you Know your right
It's the eye of the storm just have to grab on and hold tight
It's tenacity and NEVER giving up without a FIGHT
It's pitch black darkness when u forgot a flashlight
It's the CERTAINTY when you KNOW you have FINALLY found your MR RIGHT
ITS seeing it al come to fruition and leading TOGETHER a HAPPY life

My Story

Thy presence made my day then
Worsen; the day has now my old friend
Those were the days when life had fun
Life’s dark now no sign of moon, neither of sun

Life was good with you in my sight
Hard it is now to live lonely days and night
Dreams of mine right in front of me they blew
I still wish, with me tonight I had you

The world seems to move fast like a wind
I’m stuck here alone, my life is ruined
Thee must be happy, full of joy
I’m so hurt; I’m just a lonely boy

If I had thee here, how would I be?
Good as I was or mad for the world to see
The world laughs at me now as you are gone
I’m like a lunatic; I’m just for their fun

I’m missing you so, your smile and your beautiful eye
All I can do is remember you and cry
You are so far and a world apart
I’m so lost, alone, with a broken heart

More than then I need you now
I madly need you in my life, but how
Sorry that I couldn’t be like you wanted me to be
I hope you’ll forget those things and always remember me

The world seems same, but why I feel it’s different
Is it because, I’ve been deprived of your beautiful scent
You may think it was my mistake
Mistake could be mine, but my love wasn’t fake

Now since you are gone you may be satisfied that you don’t have to see me
But my eyes are as eager the 1st time when they saw thee
You just left without a single word not a single call on phone
Are you really happy that I’m all alone?

You never talked to me when you were in front of me to see
But now you talk to me as you are all the way across the country
How have you been all those days?
I was hurt, without you passing through my ways

Longtime passed since last we talked
Miss the moment together when we walked
Not a single day, I haven’t missed thee
Although you ain’t in front of me to see

Nothing but sad memories left with me
Not a single photo that I can hold when I die
Only time of sorrow with me to remember and to cry

Life has become as dark as moonless night
I’m all alone, world is in front of me to fight
I’m living, all by help of your tears
Hurt so bad, full of fears

I’ve become someone who I never thought I would
I’m going down but there’s nothing I can do to stop if I could
I’d still be happy if I had you for me to hold
That’s probably not possible as you are so bold

God Says I'M Royalty

There are too many people walking around every single day
And if you ask them who they are most don't know what to say
You need to know who you are and how you came to be
And if you are a child of God you are royalty

We are all descendants of the most high God
children of the King
But if you don't have a relationship with Him
That concept doesn't mean a thing
But God says we're all royalty so we need to comprehend
That it's not our culture, it's not our race it's being creations of Him

Now the enemy is on the prowl working day and night
Trying to deter our youth from acknowledging God's light
Too much social media with Twitter, Facebook and Skype
So caught up in their Cel phones and every technological hype
But God looks at our hearts, He discerns what's inside
He's not concerned about hair color, tattoos or exposed backsides

God says we're royalty, He says we're His chosen offspring
And He called a young David to come forth and do a new thing
Now David was not a fighter he was a tender of sheep
But God can flip the script and with faith make you take the leap
God can use anyone when it comes to accomplishing His goals
He can call on the most unlikely person
and infuse him with power and control

God says we're royalty with power, majesty and might
He will bless and anoint us with grace, mercy and light
God says we're royalty and when He calls us to serve
Don't second guess His actions this appointment you deserve
To be a vessel that God will use, a means to an anointed end
To change the course of history to benefit all men

Now David was to battle but not King Saul's way
David had a god-given talent to be put on display
David was a projectile warrior a master of the slingshot
So he picked up 5 smooth stones and proceeded towards his lot
Only one stone was needed to take Golieth down
It hit that giant in the forehead
and immediately knocked him to the ground
David's actions changed the course of history
It also came to affect his entire family
Eventually David became a king
and because of his faith and behavior
His descendants became the line that produced
Jesus the Christ Our Savior

And like David I know who I am
And from Whom I came to be
And like David I'm a child of God
And God says I'm royalty

To Richard Lamoureux

Well Mr. Sir, I am glad you asked;
For I feel appointed anointed for this task.
I have been chosen by GOD, I am a witness;
And I must be about my Father's business.

He is the GOD you may not wish to know,
He is GOD all the same He is not putting on a show.
He is not a pseudo, He is not a fake;
He is One that you can accept or forsake.

He won't force Himself upon you; you can make a choice,
You can choose to disbelieve or simply obey His voice.
He has created everything in six days,
Because my GOD; He does work in mysterious ways.

On the seventh day He needed no rest;
He just sat back that day an enjoyed His best.
He starred at Adam, like a father would his son,
And admired the way he looked and how everything was done.

He said "Look at my son; he has My eyes,
My mouth, My nose;" Which was no surprise.
"He has My walk, My talk, He is made in My image,"
GOD needed no rest; He was not playing a game of scrimmage.

He enjoyed other creations the trees, flowers and the rest,
As I told you earlier, He just enjoyed His best!
One person could not keep Him busy even if he tried;
He prepared from the beginning of time to help us with our cries.

He knows every problem and situation and He is ready to solve;
Just open your heart and chest and let Him be involved.
He will never leave you to suffer alone;
Even though He sits up high on His throne.

These television Evangelists you call on the phone;
The ones who are here today and tomorrow they are gone.
Just let me tell you, my GOD is real;
To get to know Him, well here is the deal.

You must have Faith, you must Believe;
Then and only then can you receive.
A relationship with Him. so give Him your heart,
Or deny Him, turn you back and you will hear..."Depart!:

"Depart from Me, I am no fairy tale,
Like Cinderella, Snow White or Jack, Jill and the Pail.
Okay that's a nursery rhyme, but you get the point,
That GOD is real and He has come to anoint.

This God of mine, I want all to know,
So seek His face, obey His Word, be filled with the Holy Ghost.
Repent from your sins and make amends,
And we can all be with Him at the very end.

They do not move a muscle
Nor give unto their fears
But contemplate their carnage
Have you even not, one tear

Had I known you like I do now
You wicked callous beast
I never would have shown you
That my heart was in your reach

When the first drop of precious blood
Impacts upon this ground
I swear I’ll not forgive you
And by the Gods I’ll strike you down

But could we not turn, this tide
And you and I once more
Find the love sent from about
And do, as we adore

NO, cause you insist to make my wish
Lie broken on the floor
And wear a glove while touching love
Just like a filthy whore

Don’t think the Gods won’t notice
You’re defiled and you’re sick
By using love to hide behind
To pull this dirty trick

Page 5

Ah, to one trick there’s another
And I possess my share
Be patience and I’ll show you
What can happen to your lair

With cunning and with cruelty
My counsel will evoke
A very cunning plan
That would make Poseidon choke

I will converse, with Apollo
To have the sun replace the moon
So therefore catch a tan
If it’s possible, by noon

Then I’ll call on my Seamstress
To sew me something smart
With these hand made silver boots
This is Fashion’s off the charts

Of course all my solders
Will be dressed up in their best
Tunics will be optional
And so might the rest

We will decorate the beach
With a bonfire and some torches
So the enemy can watch
While they’re lounging on their porches

Page 6

Send a ship down to the tropics
I think seafood would be nice
And one up to the artic
To fetch all some ice

I know some Greek dancing songs
We’ll get the band to play
And I’ll maybe sing a solo
To melt, their hearts away

Cause no one, but no one
Puts a party on like me
And makes the end to every war
A spectacle to see

When things start dieing down
Very late at night
We all crawl to our ships
And we’ll put out the lights

We give them the impression
We’re all drunk and going home
This should make them feel relieved
That we’re leaving them alone

But that is when we pull
The oldest trick, found in the book
With a sinister contraption
This deception’s off the hook
