Nowhere Man
 I haven’t rode a motorcycle since 2011.
Riding through the trees was like heaven.
The last thing on earth that's freedom.
 He doesn't need much.
 Just a few bucks.
 Ride on through with sunglasses.
Just ride until your heart's content.
Believe me, there's nothing like it.
 Freedom on a bike.
 A cool breeze outside.
 My shadow rides beside me.
A lonely man on his bike is free.
Not many understand what it means.
On fire, the motor is always burning.
There is nothing like the open road.
Let all your thoughts go out the window.
Early morning ready to take flight.
 Nothing else matters in sight.
Burnt tire tracks on the asphalt.
A beautiful day to ride in the fall.
So many memories so long ago.
Ride freely along the winding road.
Trees hover above as I ride below.
It’s like flying through a tunnel.
Just lean against your bike and grab a smoke.
 Just cruse right into tomorrow.

Where I Am From

I am from the black earthen pot behind my grandmothers burnt brick store
That springs cold water in and out of season for thirsty souls to drink
I am from pounded yam with melon soup, garnished with mutton

I am from huge greenery with strong and well rooted trees and oceans of rain
Whose backyard is filled with grasses and shrubs much taller than the fences built to protect the houses
I am from the yellow hibiscus, the sunny and cheery daffodils

I am from the Ifa legendary clan
The descendants of Oduduwa, that great servant of Eludumare
I am from the great Sasere dynasty, men of pride and loyalty

I am from the proud households of great Lords, that stand only for the truth
Great warriors who fought for just cause
The stubborn impregnable optimists

I am from the heart of men loyal to Ifa
The great deity whose prayers-
Eludumare never fails to answer

I am from the womb of the great woman who defied science
And fought cancer head on bravely for years, though lost the battle
Opened up hope for others fighting the same battles

I am from broken bones and crumbling gold
I am Adeshina, the son of Aladeshawe
From the Ancient Yoruba land of Owo.

Premium Member Phoenix Rising Again

I burnt myself on a funeral pyre so often

only to rise and melt my wings on ascent

Then I tried Odysseus’ underworld instead

but Ariadne’s thread did not glow in the dark

When my Trojan horse stopped at the Styx

the stamp in my passport refused passage

to an inner Self immolated at the stakes

of bewitched destiny spelled in its charcoal

Ashes and heated smoke screens surrendered

At gun point from an armed barrel I revolved

reincarnation showed no mercy nor fortune

Jesus might have died on the cross but mine

was too difficult to bear and Judas kept calling

The wheel of life had no spokes and no centre

the rim lip continued to fail the kind kiss of life

as much as I tried a rectangular peg in a round whole

I could not square the circuit like a circus clown

in frivolous garments shredded to ragged attire

even the Buddha’s loin cloth slipped from my waist

Wasted I counted a trajectory of celestial promise

and came to realized that Phoenix needed a comet

for a torched body and mind have to settle before

they can fly high above and narrate their own story

As wax waned and polish refused to stick on demand

ember of incendiary destruction warranted new flight

once freezing and fighting rested in smouldering flames

Once Upon a Memory

The sun has risen in my night

but I was blind to see the light

The moon have sunk in a new dawn

I dreamt too long, and it was gone....

Now i stroll over the shore

gazing above the horizon

to find a shooting star

But what's the use of shooting stars

which fade too far from where you are?

What's the use to make a wish

when you are not with me

What's the use of sprinkling spells

on once upon a memory?

What's the use for candles on the sand

If you're not here to hold my hand

What's the use of fragrant words

when autumn leaves are burnt

What's the use for hearts to beat

when worlds don't understand?

Last petal falls upon my feet

the wind blows in my hair

a melody on starry night

Hushed whisper in my ear

Soft music plays in distance

the guitar 's not there

So what's the use for symphony?

Once more I'm deaf to hear

Slowly i tiptoe to the stone wall

which stands behind the old Palm tree

Slowly I seek deeper

as a tiny shadow i see

a shadow which keeps growing

and getting close to me

Its my imagination

It must be a fantasy

In silence I walk back

to where our cabin used to be

My fingers bury footprints

which I found by the sea.

Space Overtaken

To many tomatoes fill up my fridge
Grown from the garden, a tasty delish
When seeds were first sown, did a no show
Planted some more, twice many did grow

Offered some out to family and friends
But they had themselves twenty times ten
With seedlings now to many to count
Not one to be wasted began to place out

Seedlings aligned in the vegetable patch
Garden plants nursery waiting to hatch
Some in pots and oblong planters
Hanging baskets - swaying decanters

Nurtured an watered sun on them all
Grew so well some ever so tall
Hundreds of flowers waiting to bare fruits
Slugs and snails hide, waiting to loot

Bees humming as they pollinated
Tiny green balls soon generated
Twice weekly fed grew them much bigger
Some so big grew skin much thicker

As time went by they started to turn
Green to red ripen by suns burn
Fast yielded more than could be eaten
Gave many away, space overtaken

Made soup, mine was just water and pips
Oven dried toms but burnt them to crisps
What ever I tried I failed miserably
Even the sauce was clumpy and gooey

Ripened so fast twice daily out picking
Got to admit they gave me a butt kicking
Next year will buy only plants that I need
Instead will grow flowers for insects to feed

Then sit in my garden with wine on the table
Enjoying the birds and the nests that they cradle
Nature is intended to what it should be
Left in its harmony and natural beauty.

White Noise

Blat , Blat
Sporadic gunfire firing back
Our way of life is under attack
And what I mean by that
Is protect the Oil Refineries
Protect Democracy freedom of speech
Protect the Banks & Institutions
Call the order to Fire Back at Will
Give them a taste of their own medicine
Shoot to Kill
Kill Bill
&
Jack & Jill

Whoosh, Whoosh
Mother nature's dirt is swirling on the breeze
Red Sand
Burnt Yellow's
Orange Haze
The winds ablaze with Corparl Punishment
Doled out by the Ministry of Environment
If 1 is to believe the Kamikaze Pilot
Who just punched another hole into the earth's atmosphere
Put down your Aerosol cans
And travel bans for Airplane's
And Rocket's
Unless there Private hired in the name of
Spreading the Gospel according to
Renewable cleaner Green Energy
Ride your bike not your car

Drip , Drip
Torture Tap
Pop the Champagne Cork
Who cares if the reservoir runs dry
Let the poor drink cake
What else would the poor child have to fill up her day
If moved closer no longer was it a chore to collect water
Sell them gun's instead to play with

Sizzle, Sizzle
Bacons at an all time low
It's now even on the Big Mac
Triple Stack
For Beef is apparently now very bad 2
Lest us all become Vegetarian

Father was a Coal Miner
Out of work and down on his luck
Since progress decided to shut down the mine
Bad choice of Career
How is Daddy now going to pay for his Beer & 40 Fags

His Father before him was an Old Fashioned Cowboy
Driving Herds of Cattle across the wild plains
Powered by Bourbon and Bean's
Rancid and saddle sore
So too 1 day did progress for him come a calling
Putting an end to his self worth and way of life
And with it his family taken on his journey into Alcoholism
A violent man he became

Relics of a certain decade
Products some say Collateral damage
When the Wheel's of Industry Stop
The Silence is deafening
It's like the sound of a knife falling in an gunfight

Shhh , Shhh
Quiet Please
The Library is now in Session
And so begins the Mine for Knowledge
Speak of only Truth , Hope and Courage

Don't be taken in
Don't make the same mistakes History has taught us
What has War ever brought us but death
Fight rather for us than against us

Why be a Tourist ?

When you could be a Guide ? ?

Twas the Night Before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the night
Santa and reindeer flew into the light
not a gift went amiss not a sound did he make
as he slid down the chimney and arose with a quake

with siffoned soft whistles and gregarious tee hees
he placed down the gifts just before the big flee
too late for retrieval soon he was caught
by a little wee tot who abandoned his cot

May I call you Kriss Krinkle he asked with a lisp
made you some cookies, bit burnt, but their crisp
soon they were wrapped and then tucked in His sack
alongside the toys, they went clickety clack

Oh crumbs I must go, Mrs. C wants me home
she covers them good with some chocolate Arome
no worries my lad, next year burn some more
my reindeer love burntys, cuz it helps when they snore !

Silence of Heaven

So red the rose a crimson divinity
Thorns sharp cruel dangerous
Crush the petals so gently, so soft
Thorns are long, how they prick thee

A rare fragrance of delicate tones
Eyes as black as Sable's ink, see
A so razor keen like murder myth and miracles
The deeper you cut harder you are to hold

Rose thorns born deep death reeks
thorns driven grave
to the heart of sin
In Flesh n Bone where blood is born

Rare dark deep
shades secrets keep
of crimson shadowed and spawn
Hue the shade of crimson ichor

The Blood of Life
The Blood of Sacrifice
A bloody firstborn
Runs on burnt Crosses and Rosary

ironic is the Rose
crimson a Delicate sound
blood-born sharp of thorn
Life races through your veins, reflex
a flash of the unknown, crimson, and onyx

Just like you a dark secret entity
so like death are you
Crucifixion n entropy
The razor sliver sharp keen n new

born upon the wing of ravened claws
I see preludes to Doom
Dominions and Damnation
it bleeds, it breaks your visions
into ruddy muddy puddles
Hollow be thy name

Profane is your humanity, a burning crown
Secret Heart in the Silence of Heaven
Where a rare rose grows and bloom
A rose so rare a deep dark shade of Crimson

So rare the rose dusky is the tones
The delicate sound of distant thunder, Doomed.
bleed upon thy holy grounds, Sacred
Your thorns are so sharp they cut

Darkness is your language
Crimson is your color
Deep is your power
Onyx and Crimson

about your light flickers,
Images reflect,
Thoughts retract
Roses and Thorns

So Red the rose of your crimson divinity
Thorns sharp and long cut so keen
Crush the petals so gentle
A thorn so long sharp and keen

A mortal death comes upon crimson wings

Pause To Blame That Woman

The woman pacing
At the hotel spread
Posing erratically
Small bursting sounds
Rock her oral territory
Chewing and blowing
Her face in a world of paints
Her breasts barely covered
Her invitation body letters
Her skirt tight and slitered
Her virtue sight almost there
She is a venture
Pulsating for the night
This night must bring
A big fish
Her only will to survive.
They she sells
And labelled a public dog
RIDICULED

She was broken long ago
Innocent and a future bright
Barely fifteen
Stained by her step-father
No one was ready to listen
To the pain that crushed her
Trafficked thrice
Many years pimped
She was gone
Lost in her own soul...

Pause to blame that woman
Broken, lost and dead
A listening heart extended
May heal her burnt life.

Premium Member Help Give Me Strength

HELP me I'm struggling today
These thoughts won't go away
Help me I feel so sad
Am I really that bad a dad

Angry at the slightist of things
Losing it when that bell rings
The bell that just can't be heard
So cranky it's really absurd

Help me I feel I have failed
Yet again my judgement is impaled
Help me get back on the road
I dont like this when I explode

Scary to the ones that I love
Here the calling of the white dove
Go away dove it's not my time
Leave me be and I'll be just fine

Venom of a deadly snake does alight
My family are the ones I do fright
I must now attempt to put it right
Stay awake late into the night

Force all these thoughts away
Live once more to fight the day
It came this time out of the blue
I really don't know what to do

Fight or flight is what I have learnt
Alas either way I will be burnt
Locked away to drown my sorrow
I need to find that tomorrow

But tomorrow is the thing that never arrives
Regret and sadness is what appears
Tears flow from these tired eyes
Not wanting to say goodbyes

The demon within is strong this time
Pulling hard on the twine
I'm using every ounce of strength I have left
But he knows I'm so bereft

If I go then he has won again
Taken another of mortal plain
But I'm not ready for an epilogue
I'm the Prince dressed as the frog

The love I get from my family
Give me strength and clarity
He is strong but I remain still
Win this battle yes I will
