The Great Depression

The Great Depression began around 1930 and it was world wide.
It was so bad that about forty thousand people committed suicide.
It began when the Stock Market crashed on October the 29th of 1929.
The Great Depression sent many people to the unemployment lines.
The Great Depression lasted over ten years.
Life was rough, that much is painfully clear.
That period brought about Gangsters and many people turned to crime.
My Grandma blamed Hoover for the Great Depression because he was President at the time.
Times were tough and many good people suffered back then.
People were happy when the Great Depression came to an end.

Aphrodite, the goddess of love
Breathed a charm on my skin
Telling it to feel like it was dancing
When the one I love happened
Within sight, where I could embrace
The sweet tenderness of his heart
This feeling was a deep passion
Leaving me with a feeling of allure
The assurance that I was fertile
Like a lush and abundant meadow
Rich in protein and vitamin extracts
 Alive with pure, potent abundance
  Never barren or lacking intimacy
Certainly not fearful with a cold timidity
Always filled with insight, wisdom and hope
That this moment would bring me
Into the presence of sweet, tender ardor
Beliefs that would take me leaping
From worry and anxiety to pleasing poise
The knowing that everything that comes
Within reach ~ love that is so sweet ~
Arises from destiny’s promise to me
To believe in the joy of a love that dwells
Inside me and my adoring companion
The one who has felt the effects of love
Brought about by the goddess’ arrows
Sent straight through my heart’s center
       Enlightening, igniting and inspiring
With feelings and thoughts which color
My entire world with embers of desire
Wanton need for the pleasure I seek
When I feel close to this amazing person
Who enriches my life with their presence
And shoots stars of yearning warmth
Through my body, my core, my depths
Where every joy is abundant and fulfilling
The craving for someone who feels devoted
Who dreams and believes and cares for me
The one who loves them without conditions
And feels like giving without any strings
Feeling closer than a brother or mother
Like intimacy has opened it’s whispery breath
To murmur pure bliss through my breast
Love like this knows no limits ~ it is completion!

Premium Member I'M Sorry

I hope you can forgive me, for walking right on by
I decided not to look and I never questioned why
I chose the simple path, that was easier for me
I’m sorry I didn’t stop, I’m sorry I didn’t see

I passed you on the street and ignored your broken heart
I’m sorry I passed you by when you were falling all apart
It’s taken many years, but now I see and understand
The hurt I caused your soul and how your basic rights were banned

It was I who caused your pain, so you stayed behind closed doors
I wish I could change the past and help to heal your sores
I’m sorry I wasn’t there in your darkest hour of life
I’m sorry I let you down and brought about such strife

I beg you for forgiveness, I was blind but now I see
I want to be a part of your world if only you’ll let me be
I have a debt to pay, for the tears that I have brought
Please give me one more shot, if you find it in your heart

Premium Member A Shout Into the Void

I stood,
At the edge of the abyss
And stared deep into its void
Letting its gloomy silence
Fill up the empty shell
That had become my heart!

I stood,
Tilting my will,
Like a mad pendulum,
Hesitating between choosing to jump in its depths
Or to walk away from it
When,
Unable to bear with the weight of my own burden,
I succumbed to the madness
That hovered everywhere around me
So much that it even invaded
My usually fragranced mind,
Adorned with its many roses!

The void of the abyss seemed to be laughing at me
And I could help it no more,
Opening the many branches of my lungs,
I shouted at it to tell it
That it can claim victory over me
Since, it, empty abyss,
Has been able to destroy the fortress that poetry
Has built all around me!

My shout into its void
Brought about a response from it,
A response which left me flabbergasted
And bewildered
But which nevertheless had me
Gathering myself back together
And realising that my life can be stitched back
Into the ornately decorated piece of clothing
That I once was!

Yes, the void whispered to me
Of how inner strength is crucial in a world
Which shall ever remain puzzling
More so,
Since the same power that impregnated me with
Goodness, created the abyss
And that I was brought to its edge
For some purpose which got fulfilled
The moment that I understood
Of my inner potential!

A shout into the void
Echoed in the vacuum of my body
And lighted in me,
A flame, flickering and gentle
But sturdy to withstand any storm!

Premium Member O Lord It's Sore

We face many hurts in life
many of them we don't understand
in these situations it's very hard
to believe in good and all that's grand

Remember God know's what is hurt
the meaning of the word He does know
far more than we could ever do
for this love of God clearly to show

God gave up His only begotten son
to be crucified for this world's sin
and for His holy blood to be shed
so His people will be true Christian

Remember this when you hurt
God knows all you're going through
for when you suffer God also does
for He's there in it with you too

When you are crying out to God
these words O Lord it's sore
remind yourself God truly knows
for He's went through it all before

(Remember seeing a book title recently 'Where is God when it hurts', made me think about this title and my thoughts brought about this piece, trust it may help some who are hurting.)

Premium Member Love

Love, what is love? It means so much
To many it might be the love of a child
the joy of seeing them smiling at you
with happiness brought about by
reaching a goal fully pleased with themself
as they show you the badge or prize they won.

to others it might be a kind word or action
they can relate to by winning your approval.
so many different ways love can be shown
there's love of a special place you hold dear.
maybe where something fantastic happened
like an engagement to someone you love

The one who won your heart oh so long ago
who you married and raised your family with.
now that was a time so precious that tears form
in your eyes as you think about all of them
And you realise how lucky you are to have
them and their love sharing your life.

Love means so much in different ways
no two ways are the same each is special
so when you go to bed give thanks to god
remembering that you owe it all to him
and live out your life in ways that honour
him for with his blessing you are who
you are and always will be

Fresh Air

In my somnolence,
I dream of a world that only exists in my deepest thoughts.
A world where the firmament
stretches far beyond in its majestic blue colour
A world where even the air is pure and immaculate,
So pure that it gives you fortitude just by breathing it in.
A secret world known only to me.
That rejuvenates every cell and fibre in my body with every breathe i take-
eliminating all unwanted pollutants of doubt, shame and fear.

Foul winds may blow from time to time,
but nothing shakes or breaks-
all stays firmly rooted in its place.
though fortitude it brings,
powerlessness also comes-a-knocking.
Powerlessness brought about by reality-
NO AIR IS EVER FRESH AIR

As melancholic as it may be,
my dream will not cease to exist.
day after day it becomes more vivid
and draw closer to reality until...one day...
A dream it will be no more!
Finally, i open my eyes,
gaze up into the sky, and realize with contentment and gratitude
that the air, though not entirely fresh,
is still my air, my dream and my DESTINY....

Premium Member Frankenstein Monster

Frankenstein monster, created by mind
Fears and desires, gripping us in their bind
All brought about by weakness of stupor
Tentacles consuming us like cancer
Dark veils of delusion, leaving us blind

We fell from grace, when with love misaligned
Thoughts, words and deeds, ego urgings unkind
Given to lust, rage, envy and rancour
Frankenstein monster

In timeless time, this simple truth divined
We are free when feral cravings declined
In void of cessation, soul shifts higher
Imbibing hues of divine loves flavours
Swathed in rapture of bliss, we leave behind

Goodbye Robin Williams - Part Ii

People are still hurting because of the blow they've been dealt.
Sadly, you decided to end it all by hanging yourself with your belt.
You suffered from Bipolar Disorder and Depression, that wasn't a good combination.
People are very sorry that you died, your death has brought about devastation.
You starred in many movies, Popeye was your very first.
Your death was so horrible, to me it feels like a curse.
In 1991 when you starred in Hook, you portrayed Peter Pan.
Eight years later you starred as a robot in Bicentennial Man.
You entertained us when you portrayed Patch Adams and when you starred in House Of D.
You also astounded us with your performances in MRS. Doubtfire and RV.
Your performances were unique and extraordinary.
They were outstanding, they sure weren't ordinary.
Everybody knows that your acting was a wonderful contribution to mankind.
It will be a long time before your wife, kids and fans can find peace of mind.

The 25th Anniversary of Stacy Brooks' Death

If you're wondering how long it took for a man to die after crashing a car, five days was how long it took.
The car crash killed him and his ex-wife who was named Stacy Brooks.
He was driving over a hundred miles per hour at midnight, that was really fast.
Stacy died instantly but her ex-husband died about 120 hours after the crash.
Stacy has been dead for the same amount of time that she lived, twenty-five years.
She was a very special lady and her death brought about misery, suffering and tears.
Stacy wasn't stuck up like some other girls who I went to school with, she would talk to me.
It wasn't fair when she died so young, my friend has been dead for a quarter of a century.
Her life ended in 1997 on the seventh of September.
She was a unique person who I will always remember.

[Dedicated to Stacy Brooks (1972-1997) who died a quarter of a century ago today on September 7, 1997]
