I'M Sorry
I hope you can forgive me, for walking right on by
I decided not to look and I never questioned why
I chose the simple path, that was easier for me
I’m sorry I didn’t stop, I’m sorry I didn’t see
I passed you on the street and ignored your broken heart
I’m sorry I passed you by when you were falling all apart
It’s taken many years, but now I see and understand
The hurt I caused your soul and how your basic rights were banned
It was I who caused your pain, so you stayed behind closed doors
I wish I could change the past and help to heal your sores
I’m sorry I wasn’t there in your darkest hour of life
I’m sorry I let you down and brought about such strife
I beg you for forgiveness, I was blind but now I see
I want to be a part of your world if only you’ll let me be
I have a debt to pay, for the tears that I have brought
Please give me one more shot, if you find it in your heart
