Tall mountain silhouette against the sky,
A rocky wall frames an eerie castle nearby.
People hide enigmas within that fortress,
There is something there that may thwart us.
It roams the tombs, scaring locals by night,
They say it's a sin that won't ever deem daylight.
The story goes that the fort gates were all aglow,
Once, a lord and his bride built it on a hill below.
Castle walls hosted events and grand balls,
During an ecstatic moment, a baby befalls.
The baron will have a son to carry his legacy,
A coming baby boy filled the castle with glee.
After profuse labor, things went awry for the lady,
Many claim what was born that day was shady.
The baron closed the castle for balls and feasts,
The item born in the castle seems like a beast.
Years of seclusion in the fort doomed the baron,
The stink of rotting bodies found in the environ.
With time, the fort's beast grew, fearing man sight,
Evil beast leave the fort to wreak havoc at night.
Dear Ancient Well,
what can your wisdom
possibly tell
about that marble guy
for whom every lady
her soul would likely sell?
Upon them he'd cast a spell,
turning their bodies into cold stone,
a crystal clear marble
reflecting the skies above.
"Oh dear, my love,
I'm bound to say farewell,
for I, forever and ever,
will belong to hell."
That's what he'd always tell
right after casting his spell
beside his beloved ancient well.
A twisted tale,
picturing a lad
so cold and yet so frail:
his gaze so unfazed,
yet his clothes quite jaded.
"How could someone not fail
in the attempt to rescue me
from my own mental jail?"
Many answers had yet to be found,
for he was still trapped and question-bound:
"Where is the love of my life?
Someone who'll succeed
to make my cry,
and smile
and feel alive?"
"Is it that outlandish,
for this marble heart of mine,
to desire a rainbow princess as a bride?
Sweet and pink in her attire,
though with a demeanour so wild,
she’d fight against all odds
to stay by my side,
knowing, deep inside her heart,
that she'll never expire."
" .... can you hear the bells ? ... "

I trudge along the ocean path
up the hill to the promenade.
Above the crashing waves I stand,
then memories, my thoughts, invade.
Behind me, white and old, as I,
the abandoned church beckons me.
It says " do you remember when?"
"Think back ... what do you see?"
I remember lilacs blooming
and music from inside,
when this was a church full of life,
when I became a bride.
But now the lilacs fade from sight,
a deserted shell is all I see.
There is no music playing.
Sadness settles over me.
The curtains blow through broken panes.
They billow in the breeze
as if they're trying to escape
out to the beckoning seas.
Once upon a time we were
Alive ! , this church and I.
But we are old and empty now
and ready now to die.

"behind the church is a promenade
they call the Widows Walk"

You rock the boss well,
With raw fun blazing...
Yet can't stand such hell;
Result sets praising
Enjoyment for both:
On one side off oath,
That other side holds-
What calm fear unfolds
The toothless shark's mouth,
Ready to consume...
Energy from South,
Journey into womb.
But now switch away...
To set off delay
That could fill womb's space,
When there won't be grace
To redeem the lost
Discharge of each moon,
Not for bride price cost,
But for cool nice tune...
Teachers don't lecture,
But home does treasure...
That bids for luck's stake
If goings forsake.
“You’re burlap and satin; you’re leather and lace,”
the bride-to-be’s mother said. “He’s a disgrace!
Break up with him. It’s not too late to save face.
He’s our neighbor’s farmhand. He should know his place.”
Her dad said, “He’s not in your league, can’t you see?
If you marry, think of how poor you will be.
You’ll not get one cent from your mother and me.
Go give back that cheap little ring and be free.”
The daughter cried, “No, I’ll give you up instead
if I must. I know what my grandparents said
to you, Dad. They thought you were out of your head
to want a rich, pampered girl. ‘Not her,’ they pled.
And, Mom, how did Grandma and Grandfather feel
when they met my Dad-to-be? Did he appeal
to them as a good choice? YOU said they had real
concerns. He seemed somewhat rough. So you would steal
away to get married. Your choices were right.
THAT—they now admit. Though you’re happy and quite
successful, as newlyweds you had to fight
your folks’ disapproval, and money was tight.
We’re burlap and satin—as once were you two!
Our future will have a much rosier hue
if you bid your coldness—and not US—adieu!
We don’t want your money. Your blessing will do!”

Here's a tale I'd like to tell
About some characters we know so well
Forgetting them is hard to do
We think of them the whole year through
The misfit toys are not forgotten
On that cold and lonely island
Hermie's doing all it seems
To be the dentist of his dreams
Frosty starts to dance and sing
From the life that his hat brings
Crystal makes a lovely bride
As she stands by Frosty's side
The Grinch does not act nice at all
Stealing from The Who's so small
Cornelius travels down the river
Looking for his gold and silver
Rudolph's nose is shiny bright
To help guide Santa through the night
So he can bring some special joy
To every single girl and boy
Indeed, a strange wedding cake!
This is real strange, I must say.
You must absolutely hear this, I pray.
Almond marzipan, on stands masked with black chocolate;
Candy laces and ribbons made its beautiful garbs.
I ponder; why in God’s name, eat all these carbs!
Seriously, are these black Fondant roses I see here?
Quite an evolution from our traditional bride’s pie!
Well…what does this imply?
Dreading a wedding life with dark future
or does it symbolize breaking off with past lovers;
Invited surely to take the party's leftovers!
As the knife cut through innocent white,
dark jelly oozes out and trickles down the levels,
staining the spotless damask into perfect designs of devils!
Red marmalade takes its turn to flow down into rivulets.
The bride and the bridegroom poke a finger, each
to share it and I hear a spine chilling screech…
All I see is their demoniac grin as I make it to the exit!

woo oh, woo oh, oh oh oh
woo oh, woo oh, oh oh woooh...
I wanna be there in a better well;
I wanna go where there is happiness, still;
Forever and a day;
Where we can sing, and dance and pray;
Sing hallelujah, each and everyway, for always, for always.,..
for ALWAYS...
I wanna go to the better side;
where my spirit will be free;
and I..
won't have to ever die no more, no, no;
I'll live rejoicing in liberty and my soul will;;
sing forever praising the joys;
for my God is great
and He will constantly provide for me
forever, forever, forever;
(from Anthology "Reverence" by James E. Lee Sr. 6/ 2017
I wanna go where God resides;
I wanna go to the better side;
no need to hide, no need to cry;
I am better now, cause I'm on the better side;
Happiness is where Jesus dwells;
No more death nor sorrow wails;
I'm gonna be forever happy here;
In the arms of my Father;
I wanna be there for a better well;
I wanna go where happiness dwells, and..
For ever and a day;
We will sing, dance and pray;
Forever in eternity singing hallelujah;
I wanna go to the better side;
Where my spirit will be free;
I wanna go to the better side;
Where I will be His bride;
And forever and all eternity, I'm gonna be free;
Everlasting forever in His arms I'll be embraced
On the better side;
I wanna go where I know my great-great grandmother is;
I wanna live with Jesus and all my cousins and them;
I want to abide with the angels and my ancestry pride;
Live and be alive with my God on the better side;
My grand parents went to the sweet by N by...
I want to live where, there's no more weather....
Where there'll be nothing but God's cover...
I am talking bout' HEAVEN..
the better side Heaven
the better side, the better side
Heaven
the better side, the better side
Heaven is the better side, the better side;
I wanna go where I know my Savior is;
I wanna go where God lives;
I want to abide with my God on the better side;
Be with my grand parents on the sweet by N by...
I want to live where, there's no more weather...
I wanna be where forevermore under God's cover...
What am I talking about..
This is what I am talking about
I am talking bout' HEAVEN, HEAVEN;
I wanna go where I know my Savior is..
Where God lives....
Heaven
I wanna go to the better side;
that better side is...
Heaven;
I wanna go to the better side;
As the bride cries before the wedding so much,
the groom many years later, as such.
Better asking twice before loosing at once,
male river water feeding ocean female eloquence.
That sea of motions influences the river,
spawning spores and the flow to deliver.
The pleasing role to submit by natures order,
to keep motions of water in needed boarder.
Delta downstream where the sweet meets the salty bitter,
male and female twilight dance and glitter.
Tides of menstruation circles turning to heat,
forces of spirit matter and its sublimity beat.
Adams rip taken to draw the new moon,
creation that flows through the female cocoon.
The silver cup with little golden eggs,
weaving heavens scent into gentle heads.
Natures diplomatic respected fire,
kindled by admiration from mountain higher.
To discover the heart is the greatest initiation,
life is time and death is its dividing appreciation.
