Premium Member The ballad of Kathy Hochul

Kathy Hochul took the reins,
Governor of the Empire State,
Promised fairness, promised change,
But for hope, you have to wait.

(chorus)
Kathy Hochul, you may get the vote,
But NY can't sail if you sink the boat.
You tell us it's patriotic that we should pay,
But taxes and crime drive the base away.

She started a fund for minorities
The drug war hurt them a lot
So now we'd have cannabis equity
funds to help them sell pot.

Pronouns changed in college dorms,
Nonbinary identity got a name,
An "X" upon official forms,
If you're not a man, and not a dame.

A fund for transgender types
You might wonder what's the need:
You might develop gripes
When you see the budget bleed.

Jobs for migrants, sanctuary laws,
No vetting at the gate,
But Republicans shouldn't stay
Their values don't match the state

Cash bail had to disappear,
That's what justice requires,
Critics warned of streets of fear,
But she threw gas on the fire.

(bridge)
A cop was killed by a repeat offender,
His family dressed in black,
Policemen booed her at the wake
She didn't have their back

"Incarcerated individuals,"
The new phrase was decreed,
Two short syllables became ten,
For a progressive creed.

Health care should be 'single payer.'
Voters should not need ID.
Demanding this was a burden
For an unschooled minority..

We have labels, funds, forms, and tax
But deeper troubles grow,
And every year more neighbors ask
If it's time for them to go.

You could be minority, you could hate ICE.
You could vape, your gender could be "X"
At the end of the day, do you thrive?
Ask Kathy Hochul for a government cheque.

Craig

If you can just remember darling
That if I find your dance alarming,
I'll appear to be mean.
I'll be booed on the scene!
Craig Revel Horwood can be charming.

Motsi

I'm Motsi Mabuse. I love this show!
Watching the dances gives me a warm glow.
As yet, no front runner.
Each dance is a stunner!
Anybody can win! Who? I don't know!

Shirley

My role in Strictly is just my scene!
I'm known as " The Latin Queen "
I want to see some sass
With a bit of class.
And I love a romantic theme.

Anton

I'm the new judge, Anton Du Beke.
For you to keep your skills in check,
Just follow the swing
Of the " Ballroom King "
And you'll receive high praise on spec!

Premium Member Satire in Limerick Acts

Act One: the stage and scenery are set
I was told the play, I'd not soon forget
But if truth were to be told
More like the game, whack-a-mole
I needed a hammer, not a lorgnette

Thespians were vying for the limelight
Popping up everywhere, ready to fight
Sarcastic words ill spoken
The golden rule was broken
A princess rudely slandered by a knight

Act Two: the actors wrote their own stage play
A long soliloquy to have their say
The audience booed and hissed
"Put that one on the blacklist!
Kick that charlatan out," they did convey.

Someone had to quickly close the curtain
'fore the crowd decided they'd be hurtin'
the actor they were jeering
with sidelong looks of leering
meaning, "Fit for a role by Tim Burton!"

Act Three: Then Queenie tried to take control
Each part played, she admitted that she stole
Just another know it all
Boring with each scribbled scrawl
Showing up everywhere like whack-a-mole

Bad actors can't write plays worth a ripe fig
But criticize others to make a dig.
Negative comments given
Are they jealousy driven?
Wantin' to make the rules like a bigwig

The play, though not very well attended
is being recast with those commended
who are never rude and crude
and have a kind attitude
Instead of those whose words have offended

The next play is about a new dog breed
I heard it's called a boghound with a need
to chew on a bone until
its nibbling has caused ill will
and seats are all empty; audience freed.

Hamantaschen

A festive Jewish holiday*
We celebrate today,
When children dress in costumes
And much merriment holds sway.

An evil man named Haman
Tried to have the Jews all killed.
The king, whose wife was Jewish,
Saw that deed was unfulfilled.

Since Haman wore a certain hat
Triangular in shape,
We eat three-cornered cakes to honor
Our too-close escape.

Called hamantaschen, they’re delish
And filled with fruit or “mun”
(Which translates into poppy seeds,
And that’s my favorite one).

The Purim story’s read each year
And Haman’s name is booed,
But afterwards we nosh,
With lots of hamantaschen chewed.

Commemorating history
With something we can taste
Takes a little of the bitter
And with sweetness it’s replaced.

*called Purim

My Prophesy

One day, one may go
In places we don't want to know
Just assure that your name is written
Embossed in gold shining in heaven.

Yes, I'm preaching
To the soul that's needing repair
I'm talking to all who hears His teaching
To warn a deluge will come so each life may spare.

The world is delicate right now
Rumors of Armageddon is creeping
I do hope Moscow show love somehow
So we can live a life we want for keeping.

Somehow Nostradamus has more to say
Than the Political Analyst wants to debrief
Believers of God and Peace Makers always pray
That all is well that ends well finds a relief.

I have high hope that World Leaders do good
So United Nation not bedeviled and not be unguided
That life may continue to thrive and not be booed
By Devils who want this world to be divided.

The Second Coming is here then
If you just know it in your heart
He is now intervening the affairs of men
We just have to chose our role and take our part.

The Devil Is Booed Out of Heaven

New Moon new, new tune
It’s a lovely afternoon
New broom sweeping the town
And spiritual cleansing is scattered all around
The wind is blowing lightly
And the race is running politely
The crowd is out once more
And people are cruising from door to door
A balance crown, a balance gown
The message is circulating around
Sending shock wave all over the town
The women are out in great force
They have just handed in their final divorce
With girted skirts and bodies well assembled
They were determined to end the tumultuous dirt
The Christmas came with a silent storm
And woke me up just before dawn
Spilling water all over the lawn
Soaking rain and complaining men
Too many of them occupied the street
The screaming and the shouting
The cussing and the fighting
They are trying to get out of the bull pen
But they angered the Gods and water suddenly
Came thundering in from heaven
Goods start floating in the street
And their sales were incomplete
A watery Christmas with cuss, cuss
Caused baby Jesus to fuss
Mary rock him gentle in the cradle
And he smiled gentle, and said he is able
The women are out in droves
They are getting ready to shout
The unruly band, the clownish man
But the women were determined to have the upper hand
I have been thinking hard and long
Waiting patiently to sing a new song
New rhythm, new beat
And a brand new shoes on my weary feet
The tide is rolling along, and the minstrel is
getting ready to march with the big band
Everyone lined up to pay their last respect
To a dying man gasping for breath
A sad moment for the throne
And a happy moment for the bluestone
The show is rolling along
and heart of destiny is scattered all over the land
Achilles heel are bruised and his mind is confused
His eyes are growing dim
and blood vessel is full to the brim
The devil is winking his eyes,
And many people start to cry
The heavens is a witness to his occupation
That has caused much confusion in heaven
The Angels could not adore it
And they could not tolerate it
So the God’s made the final decree
And boo the devil straight out of heaven
I think about it deeply
And absorb it completely
The devil is fighting for his life
But the Angels cannot comply.

Why Is It

Why is that two people can tell the same joke,
Yet one will be booed off the stage
And the other has the audience in stitches.

Why is it that one persons smile
Can light up a room,
Yet another will only get a frosty reception.

Why is it that an act of kindness from one
Will be applauded,
Yet another will only have their motives questioned.

Why is it that some get all the help
Without having to ask,
Yet others get none, no matter how many times they ask.

I stopped asking these questions the day I came to realise,
Being the centre of the Universe was too big a burden to carry.
It was the same day I started to relax, have some Fun
And became a joy to be around.

Premium Member Chelsea's Two Sins On Goal

Chelsea was supposed to be on top
At the half time stop
But it was M U
That got one through
One nil
As everyone left their seats for a fill

Hopefully it will change for pensioners in blue
Since the score could not be true
All Chelsea needed is one goal here and one goal there
Nothing much to be scared
Chelsea started to show their offenses
In order that the public could win some pences
It didn’t take long for one to go in
But the Red Devil’s complained there was a sin
Chelsea was playing too aggressive
With the yellow card sent as a message
A foul was called and created a stall
They went to video review
And the home crowd booed.
No goal so cold
A few minutes later Manchester United used their head
Another goal enough said
Two nil and big blue were headed for a big spill
Chelsea had no subs in the tank
And MU surely were on their way to the bank
With the hour getting late
There was a glimmer of light on the Monday night date
From The bird’s eye view the ball knew exactly what to do
But the video stepped in
And said ‘offsides another Chelsea sin’
In this match that seemed stolen
Since it was one that Chelsea should phone in
Back home Manchester U will go
Thinking about if this was just a nice stop in a football touring show
Manchester won this fight
Underneath Stamford bridge on this giving night.
Hail to Manchester United the victor
Who won the match by making Chelsea bicker

Bob Dylan Is Great

Bob Dylan is great
And he is real mate

He started out like Woodie Guthrie
But only roughly

He told us the answer was in the wind
He was all so thin

He went electric and creative
It went hectic and stimulative

He was called Judas and booed off stage
The crowds were in a rage

He fell off his motorbike
And things changed again with a strike

He hid in a basement
Curing his ailment

Then he returned to the watchtower
With even more power

He knocked on heaven's door
And he was back to his fore

He split with Sara
And made a movie about a Clara

There was blood on the tracks
But he reached a new climax

He got lost in religion
And hovered around like a pigeon

He took a slow train
And soon started to regain

He became a shooting star
No signs of any scars

Even though the world had gone wrong
He still sang his song

Then came 'Time out of Mind'
Nothing like it of any kind

Lots of things had changed
But in a sense it was just rearranged

Roll on Bob
But watch your fob

Then came the Nobel Prize
For us it was no surprise

Bob Dylan is Great
And bloody real mate

Bob Dylan is great
Bob Dylan is unreal mate
