He doesn’t like to socialize, nor does
he laugh at funny shows the way I do.
He suffers chronic pain and frets because
he’s worked so long and hard his whole life through.
We’ve had our ups and downs, and that’s for sure,
but I can overlook the bad. Our love
has grown through many years and will endure
because there’s one thing I am certain of.
My husband’s there for me! Though he may lack
a way with words, much tact or great finesse,
I know deep down – he’ll always have my back.
Each year as we grow greyer, he feels stress.
My birthday wish for him is that he’ll find
contentment and – at last – some peace of mind.

Amma to her “Youngens”,
Joie D’Vivre, Raison D’Etre to Dennis,
Source of course to Lucy,
Linds’s famed legs fill long johns,
Artist of Nature, watercolor canvas,
Friends savor her company “Juicy”,
Cherishing, sensing a loss when she’s “Sans”,
Creative yet Linds’s modesty sends,
She’s our Yoga “Loosie Goosy”,
Caring School Nurse hands,
Cure tears without fuss,
Comforting fears as one becomes Twosie,
Not slave to fashion, bucking trends,
Shelter from rain, hurricane crust,
Evoking a true sigh,
May all her rends mend,
In Duchess We Trust,
She brings about others’ soaring high,
Our Birthday Wish for Linds is her fondest dreams blend!

Of my childhood home
We gaze up in awe and wonder
At the celestial dome
Many times as children
We sat in this very place
Contemplating life, and
Speaking of time and space
One night with you upon this roof
I made a birthday wish
You then granted that one wish for me
When you gave me my first kiss.
It's been many years since that night
And we are still so much in love
We still sit out on this roof and
look at the moon and stars above
We talk about our future
and where we want to go from hear
We tell each other secrets
just as we have done for years.
Each night I still look forward
To seeing the moon and stars with you
From now until the end of time
Our love will see us through.

“Today’s my birthday!” The little girl announced as she picked a book off of the shelf.
“My birthday wish this year,” she whispered, “was to pick out a book all by myself.”
She paid for her book, picked up her bag…and remembered her change too.
then walked into the arms of her parents…the ones who made her wish come true.
As I watched her celebrate with her family and into their embrace dissolve…
I thought of how, over the years, our birthday wishes evolve.
I imagine when I was a baby…to young a wish to make
the only thing I wanted was to get my hands into the icing on my cake.
When I got a little older…moving from a baby to a boy
every birthday wish I made centered on some toy.
Older still I’d close my eyes and blow out the candles’ flames
wishing for money…or clothes…or, perhaps, the latest video games.
When I became a husband and a father…my wishes changed…I must profess
I wished my family to remain healthy…that they’d know peace…and happiness.
As my children grew and grew…I’d wish they’d live a life without turmoil…
that they would always make me smile…and give me grandchildren to spoil.
Today’s my birthday!…and at 71…having had most of my wishes come true
let me take a moment to share…this birthday wish with you…
I wish for love and happiness…for peace and harmony
to grow another year older surrounded by people I love
and people who love me…
It’s actually the same wish on my birthday…now…every year I make…
because if this wish is granted…
then everything else…
Is just icing on the cake.

Angels came to play and lay a cloud of snowy white beneath her feet
As they treat her to a Happy Birthday party
And sing her name in praise and peace
Hi Girl, they would whisper to her soft and low
How lovely you look today
And she would whisper back hello
Thank them for the fluffy snow
For melting it away
So she can enjoy her special day.
Thank you for the flowers glowing blue and red
Angels smiled at her kindly and kissed her head
And blessed her hardships that make her strong
They danced in flowing summer fields so soft and long

To have her join them in joy and happiness

Party while the bacon sizzles,

Behold, my blessing to see
All came down from Thee
I thank the Lord for letting me see
I will make my birthday for what it should be

I am God’s amaze
I was at near Death when I was born
From that day on, it was everlasting with a breakthrough
Each day a pursue
My moment in time
I am the Lord’s Son and he is my father
I pray Lord in continued longevity

You mean the world to me, this you must know
With passing years my love for you does grow

My daddy dearest turns 78 today...78! Where did all the years go??? My father is a pastor, an educator, and writer, but most of all, he is the best father in all the world. Yes, my My father has always been a very central figure in my life. I couldn't have hoped for a better dad. We've been close through the years, and I know that he is always there to catch me when I fall. Isn't that, after all, what our heavenly Father is like? I so love and adore my dad.
