Hustlers

There are those in our path who take great pride,
And trying to hustle others, is their full time job.
They won’t work full time when they can get a free ride,
What they can’t beg or borrow, they’ll steal or rob.
Sometimes we’re caught up in a feel good day,
And occurrences at the time aren’t so besetting.
Or we’re lacking fortitude to turn some one away,
They take this as synonymous with our forgetting.
But without accountability, we feel mistreated,
Because they took advantage of our good heart.
But until such day that our time is depleted,
A kind talk from God’s word we try to impart.

Lord God, You are my faith’s Righteousness
over every profit’s greatness
Thank You that You are my Endower of true treasures’ fullness
Above any means of wealth-gathering effectiveness
Beyond all chief inheritance-richness.
Lord God, You are my faith’s Righteousness
over every temporal glory
Thank You that You are my Saviour by Your sacrifice at Calvary
Above any personal source of peace-victory
Beyond all humanistic wisdom to fight misery.
Lord God, You are my faith’s Righteousness
over every sin-cleansing claim
Thank You that You are my Justifier along what Your laws proclaim
Above any earthly mission and charitable pursuit they declaim
Beyond all religious endeavours that merits exclaim.
Lord God, You are my faith’s Righteousness
over every flesh-anchored ability
Thank You that You are my Sanctifier Who forgives my confessed iniquity
Above any precious reward compensating debts’ propensity
Beyond all unscriptural authority of worthless integrity.
Lord God, You are my faith’s Righteousness
over every pride-marked accomplishment
Thank You that You are my Enabler by Your gracious engagement
Above any arrogant promise of vain fulfillment
Beyond all futile achievements propelled by selfishness’ entitlement.
Lord God, You are my faith’s Righteousness
over every shallow devotion
Thank You that You are my Checker Who rebukes my lack of dedication
Above any well-planned activity, but of carnal intention
Beyond all business ventures hiding fleshly ambition.
Lord God, You are my faith’s Righteousness
over every work of boasting
Thank You that You are my Encourager along prayer-requests granting
Above any haughty attitude along successful goal setting
Beyond all fake news besetting truths that lead to doubting.

Blest by the Lord
I am one who is gripped with peace
Enclosed around divine redemption seal
Bound toward freedom bliss
Vanquishing doubts hurled by attacking skeptic darts
Smiting gloom of besetting tortures due to guilt
Grateful always for pardon’s best
While worshipping my Saviour, exalting His name.
Midst love and grace
I am enjoying God’s goodness
While reaching-out to others serenely
Sharing Gospel of hope
Steadfastly trusting for miracles to happen
Believing that faith moves yon what’s impossible
Triumphant against my weakness
As I rest at the omnipotent Champ’s bosom.

FAITH IN GOD WHO STRENGTHENS US
God strengthens us in our distress
Toward prayerfulness against stress
So we can dwell by faith in His safeguarding fortress
Away from doubt-filled mattress.
God strengthens us in our sin-caused lamenting
Toward His forgiveness of sanctification-setting
So we can respond by faith to His divine inviting
Away from fears’ grievous besetting.
God strengthens us in our holiness-fight
Toward victory against temptations that smite
So we can soar by faith along His deliverance-height
Away from unbelief’s attacking dynamite.
God strengthens us in our Scriptural practice
Toward good testimony of righteousness-expertise
So we can declare His love by faith midst His justice
Away from apathy of pride’s notice.
God strengthens us in our sincere desire
Toward ministry-involvement of soulwinning fire
So we can serve Him by faith with His mercies that inspire
Away from pursuits that lead to lustfulness-mire.
God strengthens us in our weakness
Toward diligence that conquers slothfulness
So we can cleave to Him by faith despite weariness
Away from hurts of disobedience and rebelliousness.
God strengthens us in our limitation
Toward trust in His power against downfall’s frustration
So we can enjoy by faith His eternal assurance of salvation
Away from destruction of guilt’s condemnation.

circumspectly with care

Freedom to fight fear
fortitude flight fueled by faith
Girded while governed for growth
geared toward going then glowing
Hope-hoisted held high
healing against woes' hindrances
Illumining then instructing
influencing to ignite interesting interactions
Jubilantly pursuing joy
junking jabs of wrong judgment
Kindling kindness
kaleidoscopic in its worthy kinship...
Leading in loving the LORD

Illnesses besetting
Parents aging
Chilled waves of anxiety
buffet the shore
Thunderclouds dampening
soil and spirits
Cellos, subdued in minor sonority
play Eleanor Rigby in my mind
Painted ponies gnashing
at their metallic captivity
In February
Health returning
Sandpipers scatter as we approach
Collecting shells
with smiling mother
Children's laughter rains down
on half-filled sand pails
Thundering gales of glee
as they test the frigid ocean
Trumpets dance to the melodic riff
of Good Day, Sunshine
The painted ponies go up and down,
'round and 'round
the brass ring again in sight
In February
When you dread the break of day
and wait with the bated breath
the dawn of dusk
for an eerie peace to descent,
When the balmy twilight
singes your soul and you yearn
for the welcoming arms of darkness,
When you begin to walk
and lose all sense of direction
but are too far down the road
to turn back,
When you turn to your friends
and find none to comfort you,
When the concept of an all pervading God
dissipates like the morning mist
besetting you with doubts and fear;
Then in the midst of a looming storm,
death appears like a beacon of hope
beckoning your weary soul ashore.

In a kingdom full of perspectives
Much I marveled the ideal principle
Deep into that darkness hunching
Vision - tormentor of my dreams
When I thought of the Vision

I heard a designing, happy dreaming
Of binoculars that are mainstreaming
I had dreamed of storms screaming
The light seemed happy streaming
~
Deep into that darkness fretting
I crave the puzzled, preliminary prevue
All my soul within me besetting
Ahh, the beautiful, colorful rainbow view
Deep into that darkness buffering
And the preview never frosting
~
