I be a common salty once
no captain's bars, did bear
yet blessed was I to venture
where few a skipper dared
from crow's nest high aloft I saw
those bright coast beacons wink
thru biting spray's December gale
what shoals and reefs would sink
for countless days I rocked atop
that oaken spar’s good length
as wake and skies conveyed my eyes
Lord Neptune's sullen strength
busy dogs, the mates and jacks
bent hard while tasked below
as toward the sky, a glass to eye
my post waved to-and-fro
first was I to e'er spot land
my voice, the first to yell
first to sight the skull and bone
and raise loud warning bell
"thar she blows!" was oft' my cry
if spied foamed breach, had I
and "friend or foe?!?" the question barked
when strange sails split the sky
but moments to becalm my soul
as swells tick-tocked the time
were star-filled nights, a bullion moon
and the phosphorescent brine
the darkest times were battlements
when the ship groaned in its might
but never dark, those eventides -
sea and vault - awash with light!
quite rare it was to find this tar
midst the deck or down below
and rarer still would I abdicate
my realm there, high the crow
well, I'm adrift on shore now
with old brittle bones and gray
yet in my lubber's mind I still
climb masts to watch and sway
I bounce wee kin on knobby knees
and spin those swabbie tales -
of Elmo's Fire and scorching skies
wild battles, storms, and whales
and when the angels task me
to one new and heav'nly crow
I'll bend gaze to a looking glass
and give a hearty "tally-ho!"

In the quiet psalm,
As light falls gentle, calm
Breaking through the softest of skies,
Inviting hearts to the kindest sunrise –
where once, the One who made the day,
reveals the love that found a way,
the precious love for which hearts pray –
the beautiful that I will forever say…
in the silence of the psalm,
rises the wonder, in His palm
grows a warmth, a sincerity, a sweet grace,
falling across this heart who sees love’s face,
in the melody, in the song –
still alive and where I belong,
it’s His Presence, so very strong,
promising my soul that He’ll right every wrong,
restoring my heart – all my life long…
in the quiet of God’s psalm,
there is a joy that can becalm
filling the spirit with a blessing, a light
who feeds the silence of the darkest night,
who abides in the promise, making hearts right –
freeing the sinner, stirring a fire
inside the believer, so their greatest desire
is knowing God, the soul’s only supplier….
Of the love that comes to life
when we think of that sacrifice,
the One who changed the heart of us all,
with His mercy, His conviction, His call
the reason we know Him, the peace that reveals
what it means to love as our heart kneels,
what it means to give Him our lives –
assured He is the One who forgives…
the Maker, the Creator, the ONE
who came to earth, God’s Only Son….
And, He’ll one day say “well done”!!!!
the dire mistress assails
she pursues a mans carmine sustenance
becalm her
with reality
with reason
in order to pacify her passion
If in need
desperately
become anointed, seek inner peace
join willingly with the angel
belong and recite with her
during her reaping song
hovering voraciously
over the carnage
a sliver haired woman
does appear
she is caped in gracing darkness
emitting reverential fear
a wanderer
stands alone
unmoved after observing this slaughter
he stands upon
a vast battlefield
located in the valley of desertion
the death angel
now recites in finality
she will impose
the wanderer
blankly listens
accepting his sentence with repose
before
termination
the wanderer is permitted
a last request
in hapless agony
he asked his wife to be spared
“Flee”
“my willowy wife”
“Become expedient”
“Alter thy motion”
“seek the safe albatross”
“in tranquil, translucent flight”
Long
vibrant moments
the dire mistress
performs her duty
O, how regretfully
the moan
of her singing scythe
Last being
perished
the mistress soon vanished
Valkyries
ferried souls away
leaving that undulating plain of silence
The willowy wife?
She was portioned
by flight
her winged sprouts
sultrily she laughs
avoiding the plight

I fell for her in nineteen sixty nine,
When we commenced our journey of love
Along the twilit path of innocence;
My zeal was unaware of the reality
That the woman I loved wasn't mine.
I stopped our ride near the precipice,
The stones on which were cold due to
The night that harnessed my prospects;
We sat by a tree and I held her hands,
Caressed her hair without any malice.
We talked of our affair and feelings,
In unforeseen malarkey of an illusory feat
Which we called an immortal passion;
At long last, I had the frail courage
To express to her my amatory longings.
She was stunned at my boyish imbecility,
While I tried to becalm her in copout
With aberrant words to dodge the truth;
We continued being playful in false love,
While I lamented in my heart's humility.
After few years of sham togetherness,
I listened to my scarred young bosom
And interpreted the final message;
I parted ways with her in dolour,
Yet I longed her in veiled forlornness.
Forty years passed by and I lost my mind,
When I slowly entered my solitary dotage
With a blemished but a stronger heart;
I could think of nothing else but her,
The first love who was one of a kind.

Have you slowed your busy pace to take notice of a drop of rain?
As the sun glints through it, do you see its natural and quiet beauty?
Becalm your soul in the exquisite burst of color from a leaf after autumn’s first kiss.
Have you tuned your ear to the fall of the first snowflake of winter?
Become mesmerized by the quiet order in natures every soft footfall?
As the season’s tiptoe past, do you draw inspiration, or blindly immerse yourself in the bland cares and concerns of your daily rush?
Grinding your soul into nothingness on the treadmill of society’s thoughtless whims.
Imprisoned in a self-made sightless box of disregard.
Your spirit slowly snuffed out without so much as an objection to the lack of trial or jury.
Will you call a mistrial, or will you pray for a last minute death row pardon?
Have you betrayed your soul?
Summer Gratias
A falling star met butter fingers,
kissed the pavement rain,
scorched threadbare pocket cloth,
dream vapour in the wet.
Dark smoke was all it brought
to dreary eyes of pain,
and tears crept with sloth
ancient as the sky.
Fresh bile around the grilles,
steaming sweet purgation,
foretell a future day
by entrails of clairvoyance.
A seeing eye fulfils
my blind imagination,
all cats by night are grey,
analogous charcoal shapes.
Someplace else, another room,
where I can spread like plague,
or go unnoticed, lean
old driftwood on the bar.
Sometimes you leave perfume,
a promise bloused and vague,
to linger sight unseen,
I sling my hook to home...
...where you supplant the reasons,
a spell invoked and blissed,
to conjure my induction,
becalm my raging sails.
My angel for all seasons,
components sorely missed,
in spite of this reduction,
no less my world, my love.
Turning on the TV
Wonders how they do it
Why they need to flee
Is a matter you know your mother wit
When the world is calm
Somewhere out there needs your help
Who could hear them, and make becalm
Someone watched them like a wolf’s whelp
They are brothers to save wild fauna
With their special creature power suits
Gaining animal powers, saving them from trauma
Transport them in a specific route
Helping rebuild habitat’s life chain
Pio as Chris, Malka as Aviva
JD as Martin, Joakim as Gavin
Teamwork with a brilliant idea
Dolphin’s dive, frogfish’s camouflage
It feels great with these powers
With the strength of rhino charge

A sea-faring vessel on Galilean
Sea, fully dutied, dawn's a storm.
The ship's crew saw Christ walk
on water -- disciples inclusive.
Peter bid to partake, Christ said,
"Come." He beheld watery life
'neath the becalm Sea Glass, and
his whole being walks over it, raises
his inner glory to Christ's glory
divine, voice of assurance.
The storm woke Peter and fear
joined the climb. The Sea Glass robs
Peter's leap of faith to a sunken fate.
" ... little faith ... room for doubt."
The storm ends, and Peter is safe
onboard.
A vessel stern bids farewell, and its
crew praising the Son of God, as a
parting wanes a shimmering glass
sea mid a new calm proverbial day.
A life of learning is not for the meek
against your views some will loudly speak;
jackals sneering and snickering in their folly
and in that moment others may seem jolly.
Persevere in all your thoughts as most are not that flawed
as when all beauty meets a beast and so then must be pawed
like a raging vandal they will come roaring in their glory
it is your peace and confidence that illustrate the story.
Becalm the savage verbal gale with your gentle words and reason
it is in your words the logic lies and most will find that pleasin'
and when the storm subsides and skulks away
know that in your learning - you taught someone today.
Eclipse begs beasts bays: Chaos and Havoc
as the scheming plots a clock, e'er so close.
Ill sprites hover and bobble ... spasmatic
entities let loose their suffering throes.
Screams and wails are a precursor outbreak
of the cavernous peel that the master--
is nigh--and that the hellish host bewake,
yond slithered pets whip, for the taskmaster.
Becalm, bestilled, beware forevermore,
whilst the knell toils its toll and the uncoiled
hast sprung a boy no more behind the door,
third strike's out a poise shadows earth, turmoiled.
Minute passage as minutes flash a fear,
fourth nil toil nexus whence hell domineer.
