Elements of True Faith

E-lements of true faith
V-alidate trust in the Lord;
E-ven if impossible with man,
L-ord God in all can afford.
Y-ou cannot ignore to be firm, nor can you refuse to be steady;
N-o faithful man is weak and faint-hearted before the Almighty.

C-onviction and confidence
A-re neither set aside;
R-isk you meet with brash certitude
P-arts not the belief you cannot hide.
I-nspired by righteousness, solid submission is performed;
O-bedience to the Almighty means you can weather the storm.

U-nder seventh early morn,
M-onth of warm July;
A-lmighty God hears all
Y-our pleas and your cry.
A-lways patient and hopeful, for priceless prize you wait;
M-an's love is one of the elements of true faith.

Self-talking old man
Spends all day mumbling;
Best cryptic lines

Sun in my eyes briefly
Antiseptic tears;
Crystal clear sights

Prompt as usual
Bills in the mail;
Paid with gratitude

Make love your work
Then play becomes
Labour at life's altar

Columbarium thoughts
Death sleeps soundly;
No U-turns here

Brief monologue
Niche 211-1-88;
Visit dead parents

Love tolerates
Stuff and nonsense;
God is good

A friend suffers
Cancer treatment;
Poison cocktail drugs

Chemotherapy drip
Steady poison pump;
Balding afterglow

Life is hazardous:
Keep calm
And don't kill yourself

My niece eats and sleeps
Fine arts and great design;
Skinny as mini Coke Zero

Hamburger generation
Fussy one of a kind;
Fast everything and Facebook

You’re the word “kind” in my kindness
You make the world a much better place
You’re the answer to a yearning prayer
You create for me such an amazing grace

You’re the feeling behind my warm words
You touch my heart in hues of crimson joy
You’re wise, inspiring and filled with insight
You are more playful than the newest toy

You’re the water behind the sea’s wonders
You give hope to the most weary of hearts
You’re a answer to a prayer for sweet mercy
You enliven the sun’s beam with finest arts

You’re the one who knows how to give fully
You are a brilliant and simple faith in paradise
You’re splendidly arrayed in beautiful mysteries
You twinkle like starlight born of gentle sacrifice

You’re alive with beautiful colors, blushing aromas
You throw moondust into the wind’s caressing sigh
You’re a beacon of promise awakening serenity
You grow sage amid the dreams that come nigh

You’re the cure to those illness’ that wreck dreams
You comfort away the transgressions of the past
You’re always faithful to the spirit’s idea of peace
You reflect the happiness which comes down to last

You’re a hint of all the goodness that lives within
You assure the faint of heart that they will come through
You’re gentle, considerate and always so true to love
You give my heart feelings that hold it together like glue

You’re encouraging, generous and filled with affection
You make this life a better place to live, give and feel
You’re a moment that comes around to ensure success
You know that love from above will fate surely seal

For I know of the stories of which you can tell

Tales of the evils of men,
tales of heaven and hell.

I know of the memories bestowed upon you —
dying in the trenches,
I can still hear them calling to you.

I know of the mysteries —
you’ve witnessed them all:
disappearing ships,
and when uninvited friends come to call.

I know of the pains
you’ve suffered alone —
the histories of violence
and wars we can’t know.

I know of the arts you inspired
through centuries and more;
I know of songs and sacrifices
claimed for you
as some kind of celestial God.

So I’d ask,
as I stand silently looking at you,
for nothing —
but say thanks
for the light
of bright moon.

Action Girl, Part I

This is the tale of a girl named Jana,
grew up watching badass women on screen,
was inspired by their strength and their pluck,
the way they cut through bad guys in each scene.

In middle school she started martial arts,
she moved through the belts to become the best,
in high school she put on exhibitions,
and many to her great skill did attest.

On college fields she kept up with her art
as intensely as she did her studies,
they held her up as an ‘empowered’ woman,
to be envied by all of her buddies.

The administration encouraged her,
she was a poster girl fit for brochures,
professors claimed she could beat anyone,
that no woman or man could long endure.

A feminist professor plugged Jana’s talent
one morning in an intro-level class,
most of her students just nodded blindly,
but one let out a harsh, belly laugh.

Twas a future engineer who cackled so,
said,”I’m sure her skills bring her the highest score,
but I gotta think fighting against a man
she would experience nothing but floor.”

Now the student, who went by the name Rick,
caused quite the stir with his candid remarks,
professors and students jeered his outlook,
but Rick just blew it all off as a lark.

Jana was the maddest of the outraged,
and decided that she must prove herself,
she claimed that she could defeat any man,
then challenged Rick, who she planned to whip well.

Now Rick wisely chose to ignore her crap,
because in truth, he could see no good play,
Ii he won then he had beaten up a girl,
and if he lost, he’d be covered in shame.

But the denunciations continued,
and the college sided with Jana’s cause,
so Rick agreed to a proper match-up
in a ring, obeying all the state laws.

Jana seemed thrilled, and set to training,
and at least half the school said she would win,
her opponent was fifteen pounds overweight,
she was faster, and better trained them him...

Ah, luminous white she blooms a deceptive ghost
lover of dark arts ripe in charisma and night
moon seducer logic diffuser defense reducer
user of dreams abuser of romance
tempter-serpent twines and vines
a tendril's slither  …shh noiseless
vanilla viper— she’s a fever teaser
damn well make you a heartbreak believer

celestial and terrestrial she’s a territorial force
spider-vein-lightning crackles across neuronal nebulae
behind your glister eyes firework-fantasies flicker
desire— a brush fire— engulfs your cerebral star fields
razing you to burn red marrow to ash...
oh you long— you long to be the phoenix on her pyre
writhing to rise again and again

you yearn to pluck her play her possess her
place her in a solitary bud vase
share your lust of ardor with hungry admiration

resist the thirst of your hands to touch
resist the airy lariat of her buttercream-spice
resist the thirst of your taste buds to baste in her taste
as honey-whines drip from her summer-wine lips
poised in parted pout to poison you

physical and ethereal she wears an imperial crown
she steals your stars and flaunts them in her eyes
dare her when she unfurls— a swan against black satin
she’ll wrestle your heart from your chest
burst it with pin-prick-pupils of scorn
save it in her cat’s paw purse for her verse—
before she mousetraps your bleats and mercy pleas
within the mantrap of her parasol pleats

leaving you alone to skin your soul
and mend the hole where your old self ends
while your new self melts into moans you now own

Love Letter From My Heart

years have past since I felt loves spark
Dancing through the park
Trying to kick start my lonely heart
Getting my feelings out there among the visual arts
Hoping to find a place to out smart
What makes love disappear into the dark
Keeping a safety chain around all the best parts
Looking for a woman willing to give all her heart

Realizing when love starts your way
You must have all your feelers on display
Igniting emotions that have come into play
Trusting God has brought fourth that special day
Igniting my spirit like a shooting dart
Seeking to find a loving heart
That captures loves spark

Leaping through all the top charts
Finding a woman who is ready to depart
One that is beautiful, cunning and smart
Real cutie that is full of internal beauty
Who is proud of her outstanding booty
Woman whose love is on full duty

She is done eluding the past
Someone who lives in the moment having a blast
Who is ready for true love that will surpass
Creating everlasting feelings that will surly last
When all the parts of my heart are unmast
Revealing an amazing sweetheart
Who wants forever love from the very start

"Memory can be our greatest friend or greatest foe."
                                                  ~  quote by poet

Laud precious memories when cold nights prevail
those that fan loves' flames as Winter winds wail
for upon those images a lonely heart will set sail
if only in an interlude where grief may not assail

Mourns the heart when memories are bittersweet
Each one a plunging dagger blade of wintry sleet
A mighty foe one cannot banish or cast in defeat
for with each revived attack, pain is wont to repeat

No human can escape the sorrow and abysmal fall
of teardrops when unbidden memories befall us all
There's no antidote to stave off that sudden squall
of sad recollections melancholy minds often recall

But there are melodious moments of dulcet thoughts
in which flows trickling memoires where joy imparts
the rushing through veins until canvassed in hearts
as treasured paintings; unforgettable works de' arts

When a smile, sans apparent reason, plays across lips
and eyes shine as though emerging from an eclipse
there will have been a memory, perhaps in short clips
a prize to relish as the fine wine a connoisseur sips
