Now the lamplight flickers

I’ve bloomed well past blossom season, no fleshy pink
petals here. Wrinkles appear now. Feet left by crow. You
see the grey in the brown, see a patch of scalp showing.
You see the change in my gait, see my once brisk pace
slowing. But what you don’t see is me: I am no longer
desirable, desired, nor worth a smile, a glance from afar.
I’ve grown out of season, a dead drink left atop bar. I cling
to youthful glow for that is when you saw me. Now the
lamplight flickers, the bulb is on its last. A livewire fuse close
to short. As I pass, you might see a shoulder hunched, an
eye cast down. You see hands that surely once held a lover’s,
lips that had stories to tell. But that clock is ticking and so
you turn. And what you don’t see is me. I’ve written words
you might read, taught things you might learn; once, you
saw me dancing under club lights, saw me whoosh by on
rollercoasters. But that hand is moving, and you’re conscious
that time wants to flee. You see a body, a person, a
frame with history. But what you don’t see is me.

Frenzy Mode

This crazed boss pushes his ole luck
Mind's frenzy ticking like a clock;
As gut's livewire wants to explode
Rush of cusses now I shall load.

My pay is a low miser’s bag
While hard job has a large tag--
Stingy, lazy boss, he’ll remain
And there's nothing left to gain.

He jeers as overtime strays late
Keeping me on my desk, ingrate!
My turn for revenge, I will leave
All projects crushed, now DIE and GRIEVE!

Lenny

Lenny

Lovely little Lenny,
Laughing loudly, lucious,
Likes licking lollies,
Learning lots lately,
Lightweight lithsome livewire
Love ya!

' Your Touch Is Like ... '

Your Touch Is Like …

… Fire and Ice Combined
Or Feeling Raindrops, for First Time
Or Like, Swaying, Tropic-Jungle-Vines
Blown Gently In The Breeze, Entwined

Or Like, Ivy … Upon A Trellis-Climb
Or Like, Sunflowers, Reaching Sunshine
Or Like, Geniuses, Meeting Of Minds
Or Shakespeare, Tennyson, and Poe, Rhymes

Your Touch Is Like, A Discovery Of Mine
Like Piano-Keys, That Only I, Should Find
Tho’ Only God’s Touch Is Divine
Your Touch, Is Quite Sublime …

Your Touch Is Like, An Invisible-Bind
Your Touch Is, So Alive and Genuine
Like … An Electric-Livewire-Line
Or Like … Seeing A Shooting-Star- Sign
Like … Its Fire and Ice Combined …

… Fingers Trail, Like The Blaze Of A Comet
Behold … The Iceman Cometh
Oh, Your Touch Is Like A Mountain-Summit
I Wish, That I Could Superglue-It

… I Like, That Your Touch Is Like … A Duet
And I Like, That You Sure Knew-It…

A Perfect Storm

*Hey guys :-) If you've got time to leave a little comment, I'd really appreciate any feed
back you're willing to proffer. Constructive criticism and suggestions for improvement are
very welcome. Thanks!*

Side by side you stand exalted,
Over land from your dirt throne,
Earth lies open, blast ripped through it,
Peeled back flesh drilled into bone,

Long lost count of times you’ve dreamt it,
Pause, rewind it, play the scene,
Now the moment’s here unfolding,
Can’t remember how to breathe,

Read the words, rain blurs the paper,
Fragments of a heart and mind,
Stunned, astounded by his brightness,
Leaves you dazzled, colour blind,

Looking back, you saw it coming,
Sense the air’s alive with storm,
Still it finds you caught off guard,
Lightening running through your core,

Like a livewire on your skin,
It’s still coursing through you strong,
Leaves you vibrant from the shock,
Even when the source is gone,

Well in the end, you find it’s easy,
Drift into it just like sleep,
Reality blurs in states between waking,
But it’s real, now live the dream.
