Edith Piaf was a sparrow
Who ignored the "straight and narrow"
No pure white dove
She sang for love
Just as wild as Cupid's arrow

My Little Sparrow
Oh Little Sparrow
How come you here?
Your rufous neck
Seems so cute
And your white little cheeks
Are too small to hold a seed
And a bushy black bil
With conical structure
Seems so great
As its a visual treat..
Why don't you go to the grasslands?
And all the deserts and the woodlands?
Do you want to live with me?
Oh Little Sparrow
Come to me...
ABC-Always Be Careful
Cause the dreadful cats,
Hungry Hawks
Came here in search of you...
Where is your clump?
You better go back..
Oh Little Sparrow
Bid You Goodbye.....

methodically glows bright

WHAT morrow to drown in humid passion; a chance to glance
The crowned one -- we hail the sparrow in regal fashion!
A bursting flutter like explosion-feathers, and Sings the
Spring that brings the song of cooing pigeons in the gardens
As thick mystique as smoke while chanting to laughing monks
Humming
The tiny sparrow’s hinting glacier blue;
Iswind I knew your heart a blossoming cloudberry and the silvery
Lilies too!

(INSPIRED IN PART BY A SONG BY THE GREAT FRENCH 'SOUL SINGER', EDITH PIAF)
Should we praise the chanteuse
who sang "I regret nothing"?
Was she a saint or a sociopath?
Did she forget the peccadilloes,
the slights, the insults and harsh
words we are so prone to?
I regret so much, so very, very much:
the chanced shaking of another's heart,
the deafness to her tears, the blindness
to her unsung lamentations--
too much a coward to love,
I would run, run away,
even jumping an ocean to flee
what was between her and me....
Now, aging, I regret I cannot make
amends to those lost loves.
I cannot say, "I am sorry, I was weak,
in fear of your love--
forgive me... forgive me."

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”—Psalm 34:18 New International Version (NIV)
Little sparrow, what troubles Thee;
is it the stigma that You face?
Little sparrow, what pierces Thee;
is it the shame of Your disgrace?
Is it the brokenness that's in Your heart,
or the sorrows You can't outlive?
Is it the anguish that sets You apart,
or the hurt that holds You captive?
Whatsoever befalls You
is neither unfelt nor unknown;
know that God cares and calls You
when You're left out and all alone.
God will never forsake You
in Your time of great need;
God will never desert You
when You suffer or bleed.

Did you ever see a little sparrow looking sad?
Worried over another day that made him mad?
Did you ever see one wearing a fearsome frown
As if he had problems that were weighing him down?
No, of course not, sparrows always look so well,
Although they lead a simple life, they enjoy it, you can tell.
He’s content with the basics: a shelter overhead;
A drink of water and a small piece of bread.
A dust-bath to keep his feathers looking neat;
A simple nest in a tree to make his life complete.
Did you ever see a sparrow look at us as if wondering why
We worry so much about life, and often sigh and cry?
Perhaps he’s thinking he’s glad he isn’t like us
Who complain about life, and are often seen to fuss.
We carry on such busy lives that it seems there’s no time to spare
For us to take a rest and enjoy the fresh country air.
Wrapped up in anxieties about what money didn’t buy
We often forget to smile, and thank Him up on high.
But, the little sparrow wakes us with his song each morn,
He daily thanks his Maker that he has been born.
