Many years I kept you in box
Box of good memories that knocks
Birthdays come alive
Like roses in five
Candles I lit, my love that rocks!

Afraid to be unsupported.
With not posting, she cavorted.
Till a spirit did appear,
Saying, cease all fear.
With that, she penned undaunted!

Write a limerick to celebrate this day, do!

Bathed was the Tower's top in blue,
The base boasted of yellow hue,
‘As mark of our support’,
But all this show fell short,
For, what's needed was not in view.

Happenings | 08.02.2023 | war
Poet’s note: The Eiffel Tower was lit in the colours of Ukraine’s flag of blue and yellow on 23 Feb 2023 in a mark of support to the bleeding nation, on the eve of first anniversary of invasion. ‘Glory to Ukraine’, tweeted the Paris Mayor. What glory, what support, wonder many, when all of the West, and NATO, are fighting a proxy war at the cost of the suffering victim of invasion, so too wonders this tongue-in-cheek limerick.

There once was a man who liked Saint Patrick.
He said, "find the lovely matric!".
It was rather a banter.
But not every intruder.
He couldn't say no to the hat trick.

My anniversary gift went off the rails.
She sought it shiny with correct details.
Goes from nought to two hundred
in three seconds, so wondered -
But it wasn’t a set of bathroom scales,

A surprise anniversary gift,
Caused giggles, which gave me such a lift,
If I was a nun,
I sure could have fun,
A cucumber .. if you get my drift!
My lovely friend Chris gave me a bag with some chocolates and a card and carefully wrapped in white tissue paper was a 9 inch cucumber which her husband had grown - it certainly made me giggle!

Today there was shock in my eyes
My husband gave me a surprise
He donned his wedding suit
And still looks really cute
Been married for years, how time flies

TENTH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
‘My Dear, our tenth Anniversary:
Yet, no planning is compulsory.
Much I do not expect,
still love to celebrate.
Whimsical or arbitrary.’
‘Right you are: Nothing mandatory.
I feel cool in your territory,
but need certificate
of marriage, to locate
where is written date of expiry?’

The loudest composer, ’tis clear,
was Beethoven - man of the year.
The Germans are proud
of music that’s loud
because Ludwig van couldn’t hear.

Went to Cape Cod for our 25th anniversary
For our 30th went back and got her, must be wary
That's really not nice
But I did have a choice
So we're back together now and still married

Today it's been 7 months since my last epileptic seizure
What a fantastic anniversary, it couldn't have been sweeter
Can I just assume it's finally
Been conquered undeniably
I'm heaving a monumental sigh of relief justifiably

Fifty years ago on the moon went Man
T'was a trip that had long before begun
When he dreamed flying up high
To soar wished and reach the sky
Now planets wants to conquer if he can!

Three Year Anniversary of
Mary Kneeland Heath Tully
death.
I thought of Heath Kits and
Tully's coffee when I had
seen her name.
What might I find on her thoughtful mind;
A poem for me that she recently designed,
Daughter of mine,
Sun on does shine;
So sorry soon will be leaving you behind.

Have Always Loved Him
Have always loved him like no other;
As if he is my father or my mother;
Sister maybe,
I might see;
But she gave birth to another brother.

My son Jamie drowned in the Stillaguamish
River in Washington State. He was 32 and
this had happened on August 27th, 2005.
That was also our 39th wedding anniversary.
From My son Shawn Horn,
Jamie was my mother and father's son;
Together, many things have always done;
A true friend,
To the end;
I was always glad he was the other one.

You could have been completely free
But I love you and you love me
We’re still together
Through joy and bad weather
For one more anniversary
